Four problems related to rear seat belt have been reported for the 1996 Lincoln Town Car. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Rear seat belt failed intermittently. The problem had grown worse. The belt would lock up and become un-adjustable when the brakes were applied.
96 v 109 000/ interior system: seat belt: lap: rear: the consumer stated his vehicle does not have the automatic locking feature as states in this recall. The consumer notified the dealer. The dealer informed the consumer that his vehicle identification number was not covered under that recall. Consumer feels their VIN should be included in the recall.
The rear seat belts have a safety device associated with each shoulder strap, because the shoulder straps are too short, they may cause death/bodily injury.
The rear seat belts are too short to fit an average adult. Because they are so short, they are choking the passengers that use them. Please describe.
