Two problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 1998 Lincoln Town Car. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle was inside of a car wash. Shifted gear and vehicle surged in uncontrollable speed and merged into another vehicle. Then, came to a complete stop.
Sudden uncontrollable surge in power upon starting propelled the car resulting in collision and damage to property. Yh.
