1 Wiring problem of the 2000 Mazda 626

Failure Date: 03/01/2006

2000 Mazda 626 lx 4 cyl. On March 1st 2006, my speedometer dropped to zero while driving at a continuous speed (45 mph) this happened several times within a half hour period before the engine light came on. On March 2nd, I drove the car to the local Mazda dealership for a diagnostic. According to the dealership, the diagnostic revealed that the speed sensor was bad. However, they also related that the sensor was replaced and that the problem was still there. The dealership proceeded with a search of the wiring in order to determine what the problem was. This was done at an hourly rate of $85. 00 an hour. On March 6th, a broken wire was found at the firewall. It took them 7. 5 hours to make this determination. On March 11th, while on the expressway, my o/d light began flashing off and on continuously. It also began bucking and jerking and would slip in and out of gears. This is the first time this has ever happened with this car. I just hit 95,000 miles and I purchased it new in may 2000.

2 Wiring problem of the 2000 Mazda 626

Failure Date: 06/08/2005

A few weeks ago my 2000 Mazda 626 was bucking in reverse, then it would start doing the same thing in drive if I was stopped. I took it to a transmission place and they had to rebuild my transmission. There was a code coming up about the park neutral swith that it wasn't getting any power and made the tall converter go and when that happened it ruined my transmission. The check engine light still remained on my car was then sent to a Mazda dealership where it still is now and they cannot figure out the problem. I am still without a car this is going on the third week and I still without an answer. They thought it might have been the computer leading up to these incidents but they are still unsure. Please let me know if there is anything regarding a recall. Thank you.

3 Wiring problem of the 1997 Mazda 626

Failure Date: 12/01/2004

Car rpm's are high on start, car idles rough, over drive light blinks, car is very dangerous and when od light blinks car cannot change gears correctly and makes it dangerous on turns. Had close calls almost being hit, as transmission and engine does not work properly. I have had to change all spark plugs and wires, had a rebuilt engine out in as old one was destroyed due to a spring in the timing belt breaking. New 02 sensors, and maf. Current issues are with the od light blinking and causing the car to hesitate and stall. Turning car off and on seems to fix it for a while, then problem happens again after a few hours. Seems to be a computer problem or something, also there is a whining noise when rpm's are over 4000. This car is a lemon and I have read how Mazda refuses to admit the transmission problems they have.

4 Wiring problem of the 1998 Mazda 626

Failure Date: 01/01/2004

I have spent over $2000 trying to get my engine light to turn off. Nothing works. Now I am being fined for not passing inspection. What is going on? I have been having this problem for 2 years. After various repairs the light would finally go off. Now it will not and has been on for over 6 months. I have had O2 sensor and cat sensor replaced, since that is supposedly what the code was. Still nothing and noone seems to care.
