Cruise Control problem #1

The contact owns a 2001 Mazda B-series Truck. The contact received a recall notice regarding the vehicle speed control. The manufacturer advised her to take the vehicle to a local dealer to have the speed control switch deactivated. The contact stated that she would have to drive 60 miles to have the switch deactivated. When the parts become available, she would have to drive back to the dealer for the repair and possibly leave her vehicle there overnight. She stated that this was unreasonable because she is elderly and her husband has been in and out of the hospital. There had been no failure to date. The recall number was unknown. The current mileage was 65,000.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #2

I contacted heritage Mazda in towson MD to have the recall fixed. After being transferred 4 different times, the service writer informed me that they could not get the harness to fix this issue and I would have to wait a few years. I contacted Mazda corporate direct and was told by them that the part is available. I feel that heritage just didn't want to do the fix and would like someone to look into why they will not fix a recall item for my truck?.
