Mazda B3000 owners have reported 2 problems related to brake hoses, lines/piping, and fittings (under the service brakes category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2001 Mazda B3000 4x4 pickup. The contact stated that after taking the vehicle in for regular service, the technicians advised him that the frame and the brake lines were severely rusted. The vehicle was repaired for the frame. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. The VIN was unavailable. When the Mazda was lifted to repair the brake line and replace the brakes the spring shackles broke off due to extreme rust, costing an additional $450. I think Mazda should be held responsible just as Toyota recalled their vehicles due to extreme rusting. Updated 11/09/2011.
