Vehicle airbag ecu inoperable and flashes fault code, but source of issue can not be found. Mechanic speculates it is either occupant seat sensor issue or computer software issue.

Active recall for day time running lights is not able to be fixed due to Mazda claiming they do not have enough parts to rectify the issue.

Led daytime running lights. 1 is sporadic/ flickering, and the other one is now out/ inoperable, soon the flickering one will go also. Making the vehicle harder to see by other drivers. Mazda has a recall # 4320a but my VIN# is excluded? I have the same parts/ model #s as the recall! an extension of the recall, out to include my VIN# would be appropriate.

Mazda issued a recall in March 2020 for the daytime running lights on this car, the parts required to remedy this situation are backordered, and have been backordered since March. As of today, Mazda is stating that the parts will not be available for 4-5 months! daytime running lights are required to pass the annual virginiastate auto inspection. My inspection is due this month, and Mazda has effectively rendered my vehicle illegal to operate in the state of virginia!.

Recall notice received March 2020. May 5 service call parts not available, emailed 3 more times and still no parts available or contact of any sort without my initiating. Called in September and was told I would get a letter within next month and that parts were still not available. Still no contact from Mazda as of October 15. Somehow they keep manufacturing cars but can't get around to manufacturing recall parts.

Led daytime running lights do not work causing my vehicle not to be as visible as it should be on the road during daylight hours . All the other lights are also led . I am worried about future performance . Just purchased vehicle 2/3/2020 , do not know when lights first malfunctioned .

At 76,000 the driver's daytime running light failed to illuminate when the car is running. This is a safety hazard. Before it went completely out I noticed it flickered.

At 30,000 miles, but out of warranty the driver's day time running light started flickering and at times was completely out. I was told by the dealer that the entire light module needed to be replaced and the part was$1000. 00. Daytime running light flickering occurs while driving & when car is parked with motor running.

The engine of my Mazda Cx-5 2014 turned off when I got home but I didn't realize that all the accessories stayed on. As a result, the car didn't start the next day and it ran out of battery. Turning it completely off was not an easy task. I had to research online to figure out the trick moving the shift lever and realized that this is a very common issue. I checked online and found a thread that is included at the end of this message. Mazda should take responsibility and get the cars fixed with a recall but it seems that they are just denying the situation. Even though it doesn't represent a safety issue while driving a car, it does represent a huge inconvenience to owners, as well as time and money. Vehicle has less than 33,000 miles and the driver-side daytime running light has gone out. This is a safety issue and should not happen with led lights this early in the vehicle's life.

Daytime running light (led halo) on rider's side no longer works. Vehicle has 30098 miles, but has aged out of warranty. Entire unit must be replaced at a cost exceeding $1200. Will not pass state safety inspection as is.

Passenger side led module drl light strip is dim/flickering. Happened in years 3-4 shortly after warranty expired. Dealer offered zero assistance. Led lights should last much longer. A quicker internet search shows problem is widespread on my model year. In fact, I have seen many vehicles with faulty light in m daily driving.

Daytime running light issue - seems like a large number of complaints about this issue, light flickers before it finally blows, drl only come on when vehicle is in "drive", so only when in motion, doesn't matter what type of road, or direction of travel. The flickering is a hazard for other drivers, and is majorly annoying to owner, the fix is nearly $1000 to repair. This is the second one to go, the first (on driver's side) blew while under warranty, less than 36k miles, second one has now gone, at 71k, well out of warranty.

The daylight running light on passenger side is flickering non-stop in just 39k miles (out of warranty). Learned about this yesterday while driving on a major business route and at the traffic light, adjacent car driver pointed out (nice guy, thank you). Came home and upon looking at it, I couldn't believe how other drivers might have been annoyed when looking thru their rear view mirror. It is absolutely a safety hazard and Mazda should fix this issue ASAP no cost to car owners. Searching online, hundreds if not thousands of drivers have reported this issue.

Led daytime running lights failing at 42000 miles.

Driver's side daytime running lamp is extremely dim. Upon closer inspection the drl is either off, or flickering. Very distinguishable from the passenger side drl which is full bright. Vehicle is at approximately 44,700 miles on odometer.

Led running daytime driving lights have failed at only 3 years!.

Right headlamp daytime running lights is no longer working properly. Being the daytime running that has been added for safety this should be a manufactures issue not the consumer for a vehicle with 43k miles and 3 years old. A quick internet search find hundreds of the same issue.

Both daytime running lights on my grand touring trim have failed after a little more than 3 years of ownership and only 35000 miles. Dealership has told us they have seen a bunch of these failures already and Mazda won't cover them. They did state that Mazda even has a new revision of the light that fixes all the issues, but the part and labour cost about 1000 dollars per light. There are tons of posts on this topic on the internet, including 25 pages on Mazda247 forum. This is a safety issue and Mazda should be stepping up!.

Passenger side daytime running light went out and does not function after 3 years and only 46k miles. All lights on a vehicle need to be properly functioning to be deemed safe for driving.

Vehicle display on dashboard, steering wheel, shift console, audio controls, seats adjustments are not illuminated. The letters and numbers are not lighted. Unable to know which buttons to push because printing is so small and many controls are grouped too close together. Mazda cx5 owner's manual is for all Mazda models. There is no indication as to what feature is included on my car. This car lacks lighted display and contains small letters/numerals whileparked, moving or driving in day or night; Mazda dealers in two different towns report unable to improve situation "that's how it is" .

Front passenger side day time running lights suddenly failed at just 27,500 miles. In order to replace the leds, the entire light unit needs to be changed out, and can only be done at the dealership at a cost of over $1200. This is a very quick failure of a long lasting led light and at a high cost to the owner. This should fall under a recall.

The led halo light in the front headlamps went completely out on one side and flickers on the other side. The repair is $1000 per side and isn't covered by warranty. This is a safety issue and Mazda knows it . Multiple people are having the same exact issue around the same time. There is a manufacturer's defect and there needs to be a safety recall. No one can or will pay that kind of money for a light bulb. The problem is prolific and needs to be addressed.
