Exterior Lighting Problems of Mazda CX-5 - part 2

In 2020 I was sent a recall notice for my headlights. I took my car into foothills Lincoln Mazda in spokane, wa for the repair. They stated that my headlights were the wrong production dates so they did nothing for the recall yet marked the repair as "completed" according to Mazda. Now both my headlights are having issues with the daylight running lights with one light flickering and the other not working at all. I have checked the documentation that I could find for the recall and found that in the repair procedures for Mazda recall campaign 4320a NHTSA recall #: 20v-063 , it states the VIN number range and production dates effected and my vehicle was in the range for both. I contacted the dealer about this and they told me to contact Mazda customer service. I contacted Mazda customer service and they stated that the repair was marked completed in their system. I sent them documentation showing that the dealer didn't do any repairs. They said that the production dates didn't fit. I showed them my VIN and production dates along with the repair procedure showing that my VIN and dates fit the recall. They then stated that the lights themselves didn't fit. I sent them more pictures illustrating that it did. This process has gone on for two months now and they are saying that it doesn't fit the recall but can provide no documentation to me as to what the effected VIN numbers are or the production dates are that my vehicle doesn't meet. Can someone please assist me with this issue as I have a one year old daughter and I am concerned with the safety of my vehicle?.

The contact owns a 2019 Mazda Cx-5. The contact stated that the center display was malfunctioning. The contact stated that the rearview camera turned off inadvertently or failed to operate as intended while reversing the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

By late October 2021, my right light started to flick, then my lower (normal night light) light stopped working.

I received a notice from NHTSA (campaign no. 20v-063) in may 2020 regarding a recall on daytime running lights due a problem with flickering or not lighting at all. A local dealership changed the lights in September 2020 at no charge to me. Now in September 2021 I see that the passenger side drl is flickering constantly.

Led daytime running lights (drls) failing while driving. Recall don for similar vehicles (4320a recall). This could impact the ability for pedestrians or nearby vehicles to see the SUV, particularly in low-light conditions when the low- or high-beam headlights aren't in use.

We have a new 2021 cx5 and the two taillights (the ones that are on top of the backup lights) do not light up. The dealer, napleton Mazda in libertyville, IL, told us that that is normal and those lights are not meant to light up. The dealer said they have many customers bringing their car in for service for the same issue, but it is not something they can fix. At night the car is not as visible as it should be, especially if you are in a dark area and stopped without your foot on the brake. We had the police pull over my daughter in the car saying she had no lights in the rear. This is not on all these models, but we were told this particular model doesn't have the lights, even though the light kits are installed.

Daytime running lights stopped working.

The starter ignition button will turn off the engine but fail to turn off the radio and the lights. The only way to turn it off is to repeatedly turn on the ignition button, until it turns off.

Mazda is not fixing a known issue from a recall issued a year ago for daytime running lights. Feb 06,2020 manufacturer recall number4320a NHTSA recall number20v-063 one of my drls has been burned out for over a year. Mazda says they don't have parts available to perform the recall. It has been over a year. Furthermore, the dealer will not promise to prioritize fixing issues on cars where the lights already broken, when the parts become available, which means owners with working lights may get their recall repair before I do, which is certainly a safety issue. What can I do??.

Nearly a year after the initial recall notice, Mazda has not been able to supply the parts to fix recall #20v-063. They send postcards and emails monthly, indicating that I have not yet brought the vehicle in for service. This is untrue, I have tried multiple times to have the defect corrected only to be told parts are not available. Are they complying with their obligations under this recall? I can't help but think they are not being truthful about their failure to provide the required parts.

Daytime running lights no longer operating. Changed the fuse, which was still in good condition, and the daytime running lights still don't work. May be same issue as the cx5 2016 problem?.

Vehicle airbag ecu inoperable and flashes fault code, but source of issue can not be found. Mechanic speculates it is either occupant seat sensor issue or computer software issue.

Active recall for day time running lights is not able to be fixed due to Mazda claiming they do not have enough parts to rectify the issue.

Led daytime running lights. 1 is sporadic/ flickering, and the other one is now out/ inoperable, soon the flickering one will go also. Making the vehicle harder to see by other drivers. Mazda has a recall # 4320a but my VIN# is excluded? I have the same parts/ model #s as the recall! an extension of the recall, out to include my VIN# would be appropriate.

Mazda issued a recall in March 2020 for the daytime running lights on this car, the parts required to remedy this situation are backordered, and have been backordered since March. As of today, Mazda is stating that the parts will not be available for 4-5 months! daytime running lights are required to pass the annual virginiastate auto inspection. My inspection is due this month, and Mazda has effectively rendered my vehicle illegal to operate in the state of virginia!.

Recall notice received March 2020. May 5 service call parts not available, emailed 3 more times and still no parts available or contact of any sort without my initiating. Called in September and was told I would get a letter within next month and that parts were still not available. Still no contact from Mazda as of October 15. Somehow they keep manufacturing cars but can't get around to manufacturing recall parts.

Led daytime running lights do not work causing my vehicle not to be as visible as it should be on the road during daylight hours . All the other lights are also led . I am worried about future performance . Just purchased vehicle 2/3/2020 , do not know when lights first malfunctioned .

At 76,000 the driver's daytime running light failed to illuminate when the car is running. This is a safety hazard. Before it went completely out I noticed it flickered.

At 30,000 miles, but out of warranty the driver's day time running light started flickering and at times was completely out. I was told by the dealer that the entire light module needed to be replaced and the part was$1000. 00. Daytime running light flickering occurs while driving & when car is parked with motor running.

Daytime running light (led halo) on rider's side flickering. Vehicle has under 50k miles. Has aged out of warranty. Entire unit must be replaced at a cost exceeding $1200. A flickering light is a safety concern and reduces visibility. Can also be seen as a distraction to other cars on the road.

The engine of my Mazda Cx-5 2014 turned off when I got home but I didn't realize that all the accessories stayed on. As a result, the car didn't start the next day and it ran out of battery. Turning it completely off was not an easy task. I had to research online to figure out the trick moving the shift lever and realized that this is a very common issue. I checked online and found a thread that is included at the end of this message. Mazda should take responsibility and get the cars fixed with a recall but it seems that they are just denying the situation. Even though it doesn't represent a safety issue while driving a car, it does represent a huge inconvenience to owners, as well as time and money. Vehicle has less than 33,000 miles and the driver-side daytime running light has gone out. This is a safety issue and should not happen with led lights this early in the vehicle's life.

Daytime running light (led halo) on rider's side no longer works. Vehicle has 30098 miles, but has aged out of warranty. Entire unit must be replaced at a cost exceeding $1200. Will not pass state safety inspection as is.

Passenger side led module drl light strip is dim/flickering. Happened in years 3-4 shortly after warranty expired. Dealer offered zero assistance. Led lights should last much longer. A quicker internet search shows problem is widespread on my model year. In fact, I have seen many vehicles with faulty light in m daily driving.

Daytime running light issue - seems like a large number of complaints about this issue, light flickers before it finally blows, drl only come on when vehicle is in "drive", so only when in motion, doesn't matter what type of road, or direction of travel. The flickering is a hazard for other drivers, and is majorly annoying to owner, the fix is nearly $1000 to repair. This is the second one to go, the first (on driver's side) blew while under warranty, less than 36k miles, second one has now gone, at 71k, well out of warranty.

The daylight running light on passenger side is flickering non-stop in just 39k miles (out of warranty). Learned about this yesterday while driving on a major business route and at the traffic light, adjacent car driver pointed out (nice guy, thank you). Came home and upon looking at it, I couldn't believe how other drivers might have been annoyed when looking thru their rear view mirror. It is absolutely a safety hazard and Mazda should fix this issue ASAP no cost to car owners. Searching online, hundreds if not thousands of drivers have reported this issue.
