4 Steering problem of the 2011 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 12/20/2017

Manufacturer recall number 9716h I have to Mazda dealership for this recall issue because the sterling wheel is tight to turn the wheels and the dealership declines to fix this problem answering that Mazda had hold on the parts and there is no supply. So wanted help regarding this matter.

5 Steering problem of the 2011 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 10/06/2017

Front suspension ball joint fitting. Water may enter the front suspension ball joint fitting. Driving on roadways during the winter months in areas that use roadway salts can lead to salt and water intrusion into the ball joint causing corrosion. As a result the ball joint loosens and a rattle may occur. Extended operation in this condition will deteriorate the ball joint and the lower control arm could separate. Significant loss of steering control may increase the chance of a fatal crash. At this time we are experiencing a small rattle in the front.

6 Steering problem of the 2012 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 10/03/2017

There are 2 recalls issued on my vehicle. One is the airbags and the other is the lower arm control. I have contacted Mazda 4 times and they tell me they do not have parts and don't have a time frame that I can come in and get these issues resolved. Both of these recalls are a safety concern for myself and my children.

Waiting too long for remedy to recall on front suspension ball joint fitting that may effect steering.

8 Steering problem of the 2010 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 09/05/2017

We were notified of a safety recall in August 2016 at the time they informed us a fix was unavailable and we would be notified when one was available. The recall includes the possible lose of steering during operation. Do date, September 6, 2017 no information has been received regarding parts, a fix or a solution to this dangerous development.

9 Steering problem of the 2011 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 09/04/2017

Takata recall NHTSA #17v-429; also recall NHTSA #16v-593 (manufacturer recall #9716h) front suspension/steering recall. Attempted to obtain replacements at Mazda in texas, was always told "parts unavailable". Recently attempted to obtain replacements in oregon, was also told "parts on order/unavailable. " have not had any accidents related to these recalls, just difficulty obtaining replacement parts from several Mazda service centers.

10 Steering problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 08/28/2017

Nhtsa recall #16v-593 - this recall indicates that there is the risk of significant loss of steering control increasing the risk of a crash. This recall is taking an inordinate amount of time, and I think that it is imperative that this be expedited in order to replace the part before it becomes a more severe issue which could include litigation. The steering control is a vital part of the operation of this vehicle and I don't think that it is feasible or fair to the owners of Mazda vehicles to be placed in such a precarious situation. This issue needs to be escalated so that existing owners of these vehicles can get the replacement parts that are needed as soon as possible. My vehicle is beginning to experience some of these steering issues, and I keep my car properly maintained , but the expense of the replacement of these control arms at this time is a difficult expense. Please help me to have this issue escalated.

11 Steering problem of the 2008 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 07/31/2017

Recall 9716h (front lower control arm) was sent out in October 2016 and 10 months later there is no solution or eta to the solution. In the interim, we are driving a potentially unsafe vehicle during dangerous times of the year (winter). Recall 1317f (air bag inflator) I was denied a service appointment due to a technicians strike and offered no recourse or options in the interim. Announced safety issues when no immediate repair is available, should at minimum be have the requirement to offer drivers a safe and comparable rental vehicle while a solution is put into place. We are in a situation where Mazda has now essentially said "we sold you an unsafe car so just keep driving it until we fixing it fits into our schedule".

12 Steering problem of the 2011 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 07/24/2017

The contact owned a 2011 Mazda Cx-7. While driving 40 mph, the steering wheel turned to the left and failed to maneuver without warning. The vehicle crashed into an embankment, hydroplaned, and crashed into another embankment. The driver's side air bags deployed over the top of the steering wheel and upwards toward the roof of the vehicle. The contact sustained a cracked chest plate, left shoulder ligament damage, a head concussion, and nerve and spinal damage. Medical attention was provided at the hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and deemed a total loss. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and advised the contact to replace the vehicle, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

13 Steering problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 07/09/2017

Mazda recall #: 9716h (NHTSA recall #: 16v-593) this recall is dated 8/10/16. From Mazda's recall notice, "the ball joint and lower control arm may separate, causing a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash. " so almost a year and nothing. . . . Recall still "remedy not available"????? what are they waiting on? seems extremely irresponsible/greedy (do not want to incur the cost).

14 Steering problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 05/24/2017

Takata recall I was notified by Mazda of NHTSA recall number's 17v-012 and 16v-593 (manufacture recall number 0717a and 9716h), informing me how I may experience significant loss of steering that may result in a crash, plus I was advised not to ever have a passenger in my vehicle in the event of a crash as metal fragments from the passenger airbag could cause serious injury or death. It has been nearly a year since the first notice and nearly 6 months since the second notice, yet nothing has been done. Mazda says parts are not available. Nothing injurious has happened, my complaint is how Mazda seems to not be doing anything about this and I risk my life and others with every drive I must make.

15 Steering problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 05/14/2017

Takata recall: passenger side airbag light comes on intermittently and sometimes stays on or blinks. While driving the vehicle at 60 mph it swerved without warning to the right causing the passenger side tires to fall off the shoulder of the highway and nearly resulting in loss of control.

16 Steering problem of the 2010 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 04/25/2017

It has been 1 year since the recall was made. But the parts were never available. I went through winter in chicago feeling unsafe. I don't think they are replacing my lower control arm. They are postponing it to hope that I will forget about it.

17 Steering problem of the 2009 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 04/14/2017

We received the recall notice in August 2016 and no remedy has been made. This is ridiculous. Ball joints and lower control arms are replaced everyday - what's the dam hold up? I called the hotline twice today and was disconnected after being on hold. I guess I have to get my attorney involved with Mazda and ngtsa.

18 Steering problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 04/06/2017

Mazda hasn't been able to make recall parts available in a timely manner resulting in my lower control arm/ball joint to break away from my tire causing me to loose steering while turning. Also being broke down on railroad tracks and needed to get my car and myself to safety. My car had to be lifted with equipment to be moved resulting in both left and right front fender damage! this is very inconsiderate and poor business manner!!!.

19 Steering problem of the 2010 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 04/05/2017

Takata recall, I have contacted the Mazda dealership in ridgeland ms over a year ago and have yet to get my car in for the airbag replacement and this is for the replace of the lower control arms, it has been over a year and the parts are still not available for replacement.

21 Steering problem of the 2008 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 02/03/2017

Mazda Cx-7 recall 9716h. Rcvd recall notice in 10/2016 but no further notices & told in notice that parts were not available to correct the dangerous recall. Had no idea how disastrous this problem could be. Driving my Cx-7 on old willets path, smithtown, NY on 2/3/17 @ approx. 6:30pm with my 4 children in the car, traveling less than 35 mph when the right wheel came off the axle of the car. The wheel was the right side passenger side of car. The car then began to turn into oncoming traffic as a result of losing control of the car. Cars had to move out of my way as it was almost out of control. I feared for the life of myself and my 4 kids in the car. Thankfully I was able to luckily gain control of the car due to my 30+ yrs experience as a driver and force the car onto the shoulder of the right side of the road, sliding into dirt. The car skidded approx 75 feet on pavement. (photos attached) the cause of the accident was diagnosed by my mechanic as the ball joint and lower control arm of the car completely snapping/ breaking caused by erosion/corrosion, which is exactly what the recall is for. Car was towed as was not drivable. The tire cause damage to the axle wheel, and other parts of the car and engine as described by smith haven Mazda, where car is currently being repaired. Had I been traveling at a higher rate of speed, this could have been a deadly matter and myself and 4 children could have been killed. I am so upset that Mazda did not immediately notify their customers to completely stop using these cars due to the dangerous risk of death/crash. I no longer want to be an owner of this Mazda and want to ditch this car for fear of what could have happened to my family; unacceptable safety notification by Mazda. Had myself or children been killed or hurt, I would be suing Mazda. Will Mazda consider offering me any compensation on trading/selling this car?.

22 Steering problem of the 2011 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 01/13/2017

Recall date of August 10, 2016. I received notice from Mazda north american operations that my car is subject of this front lower control arms. To date January 11, 2017 I have not received another notification from Mazda informing me that replacement parts are available. I believe this time period of 158 days is beyond a reasonable amount of time to have made the notice for bringing in the vehicle for repair. I expect that I will be contacted to set an appointment for that repair within the next 30 days.

27 Steering problem of the 2010 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 09/06/2016

Mazda is refusing to fix the recall on my vehicle saying that it's not a safety recall. The last time I checked the lower control arms separating from the ball joints was a safety issue. I have called the dealer and they can't get the part or don't want to they told me the first time it was the brakes popping and now they say nothing is wrong with it at all. Mazda corporate doesn't seem like they care either. They told me it was safe to drive not to worry about it. My vehicle is making popping noises in the front end and they don't want to fix it. They want to pawn it off on another part of the vehicle.

As a result of the looseness, a rattle may occur at ball joint lower control arm. After extended operation in such a circumstance, it could separate and getting into a crash could become easier. I am putting my family at risk every time we travel in this vehicle. How can a car be recalled as a safety risk and no parts available for almost a year? what are the NHTSA and Mazda doing about this? if my car loses steering and an accident results, who is responsible?.
