Four problems related to seats have been reported for the 2008 Mazda CX9. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tl the contact owns a 2008 Mazda cx-9. While driving 60 mph, the driver's seat unintentionally moved towards the steering wheel. It was difficult for the contact to exit the vehicle due to how close the seat moved towards the steering wheel. The contact also mentioned that the failure occurred periodically. Mazda of orland park (8910 w 159th st, orland park, IL 60462, (708) 444-3200) was contacted. The contact was informed that the vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 09v066000 (electrical system) in 2009. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 144,000.
I was not in an accident but I feel I could have a defective divers side seat that could come loose (seat rail). I was told by a dealer that the only way to repair the issue is to replace the seat which would cost over $3000. 00. If this is happening to other vehicle owners, this could be a safety hazard.
The electronic seat positioning control on the drivers side seat keeps adjusting on it's own while the vehicle is in motion. It just started today and seemed to do it at any speed, too include while the vehicle was stopped and the brake was applied. I also experienced the same action after I had placed the vehicle in park and turned off the ignition.
Current recall where heated seat tends to overheat, but my model year isn't included. I have previously complained about this issue to the dealer before I was even aware of the current recall.
