While traveling @ about 15 mph made a right turn up a one way street, car made a loud thump sound and lurched forward. At which point the car stopped and I was not able to move back or forward. Exited vehicle to find driver side wheel broke off and moved forward in the wheel well. Mazda roadside was called and flatbed service arranged. Car is well maintained and only has 74,000 miles. Mazda needs to act quickly on this recall issue because some one is going to get seriously injured or kiilled (driving at highway speeds).

The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, there was an abnormal noise, the ball joints failed and the vehicle stopped suddenly. The vehicle was towed to the dealer mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000. Bd.
