One problem related to front suspension control arm has been reported for the 2009 Mazda CX9. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Mazda cx-9. The contact stated that while driving downhill at approximately 75 mph, the brake pedal was depressed as the vehicle started shaking violently without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the ball joint, and the lower control arm separated and the rack and pinion failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the vehicle was included NHTSA campaign number: 15v451000 (suspension) however, parts to do the repairs was unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 38,900. Sg.
