The contact owns a 2013 Mazda cx-9. While driving approximately 10 mph, the contact heard a loud abnormal noise under the vehicle. The vehicle stopped independently. The contact noticed that the front passenger tire twisted into the wheel well. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front passenger ball joint had fractured. The vehicle was previously serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 15v451000 (suspension), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The failure occurred shortly after the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000. The VIN was not available.
