3 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2022 Mazda CX9

Failure Date: 07/21/2022

1. Instrument cluster panel brightness does not adjust either too dim or too bright Mazda dealer stated no failures were found twice same responded. 2. Lane keep assist this feature never worked even on the straight road since I bought July 2022. Mazda doesn't have a capability and mislead the consumers. I found a some report by alex healey that said Mazda I-activsense received an overall score of 27/100 making it the worst ranked tech in the study. I went dealership service 3 times for repair, but its answers no fault code found no problem at all that they repeated repeated repeated please investigated this cx-9, thank you!.

4 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2015 Mazda CX9

Failure Date: 08/12/2021

The wiring harness on the headlight for my Mazda cx-9 has and continues to melt, causing the bulb to be useless. The only issue that will seem to correct this issue is installing new headlights. According to my research this is a problem that is common to Mazda cx-9 vehicles.

5 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2011 Mazda CX9

Failure Date: 12/31/2018

Our vehicle has water drains or "weep" lines for the sunroof. We recently had the electrical system stop/start, dash lights remain on constantly after sitting in the driveway during the rain. We learned that if the drains become blocked that water leaks into the cabin directly onto the body control module (bcm). Because the bcm is not in a sealed or water-proof case, yet is soaked in these conditions, the vehicle is subject to electrical failure as a result. Replacing the bcm costs about $1,000. When we started the car the dash lights that warn of an issue with many of the vehicles safety systems remained on. Others went off and soft of flashed. We could not determine if there was really an issue with all of the components flashing on the dash so we did not want to drive it for fear of an accident. Our vehicle was stationary (thank god). We waited for a while and were able to leave for home, but this condition is clearly a huge safety risk.

6 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2010 Mazda CX9

Failure Date: 09/12/2017

I've replaced the passenger side low beam light on my 2010 Mazda cx-9 yearly for the past 4 years thinking the bulb was blown. Only to have the socket wiggle loose shortly after installing the bulb. I've been pulled over at night for the 2nd time last week for the bulb being out - but I know it was on when I left the driveway. The socket doesn't hold the bulb in tight. You can tap the lens and get the bulb to come back on (sometimes) only until you hit another pot hole - then eventually the bulb blows again. There are over 100 similar Mazda complaints - mostly passenger side. Obviously this is a Mazda safety issue. My kids don't need to have the anxiety of their mom being pulled over when driving them home after dark, because rest assured the american made police car blue lights always work! I have a clean driving record so luckily I don't get a ticket and just sent on my way to once again fix a bulb that isn't broken! this should be a Mazda recall because if I can't get a sticker with a bulb out then it's a "safety issue"! please help!.

7 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2012 Mazda CX9

Failure Date: 09/09/2016

While traveling on the turnpike at 70 mph at night my entire dash board, including speedometer, warning lights and temperature controls and head lights and back lights went blank and dark. Pulled off road and shut engine off. Was going to call road service, but turned engine on and everything came on. Drove another 15 minutes and the entire dashboard and head lights went out. Pulled off road and shut off engine and turned it on again and all was working again. Got home safely without more problems. Same problems with dashboard during daylight thereafter. Took car to dealer ASAP where all my service has been done since car bought new. Dealer had car 4 days and could not duplicate problem until the third day when one of the master technicians drove the car 30 miles to his home. This time I was told the entire dashboard went black at night. Was told by dealer that they think they fixed the problem by some computer adjustment to a sensor. Really got no details of what was wrong and will it happen again. All of these problems started a few days after dealer had car for the front lower control arms safety recall 851g and other routine service such as oil change, wheel alignment, multi point inspection and battery replacement to new battery. Also tire rotation. Overall a very dangerous situation that could have caused an accident with serious injuries or death.

8 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2010 Mazda CX9

Failure Date: 02/02/2016

The driver's side low beam light went out. Upon taking the vehicle to the dealership I was advised it's not the bulb itself rather it's a component within the headlamp assembly which is corroded due to the build of of moisture within the lamp kit. This is a known problem & there is a service bulletin (service bulletin no. : sb-09-003-13). The dealership stated Mazda will not cover the repair and quoted me a cost in excess of $1,000 to replace the headlamp and related parts. I believe Mazda to be responsible when there is a known problem.
