The contact owns a 2008 Mazda Mazda3. While reversing from a complete stop, the steering wheel became very stiff and difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed the power steering had failed. The steering column was replaced by the authorized dealer. The failure and current mileages were 12,885. Updated 7/28/10 the dealer replaced the power steering motor, pump and lines. Updated 08/04/jb.
