The new windshield is Mazda oem glass and has been installed for approximately 1 month. The vehicle is less than 1 year old.

Tl- the contact owns a 2019 Mazda Mazda3. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, a dime size rock hit the driver side of his windshield, leaving a minor chip on the windshield. Three months later while driving at 60 mph, another vehicle driving at approximately 30 ft ahead of him kicked up an unknown object that hit the passenger side of the windshield. The object left a minor crack on the passenger side, and as the contact continued to drive, the crack spread over the entire windshield's passenger side. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the windshield was not covered under warranty. A dealer was not informed of the windshield failure and the windshield had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

40 Wiper problem of the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 11/20/2019

I was driving about 30 mph or slower in a light rain on a city street when my vehicle said that the front radar failed/unable to function, all safety systems are now disabled. This lasted for about 3-4 minutes and then it started to function again but only for 2 minutes and then it gave the same message and disabled all my safety systems while again. It started to function again as I pulled into my driveway which is why I was unable to get a photo. I have had multiple ongoing problems with lane departure warning and with the windshield wiper sensor and the doors and trunk locking and unlocking. I think the entire electrical system is defective and most of the problems come from the front radar but there are so many problems with the electronics that I this this vehicle is a lemon. The lane-keep assist is so bad it has almost made me crash on 3 separate occasions so I have disabled it.

48 Wiper problem of the 2017 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 05/29/2019

Dealership unable to perform safety recall. The following is a copy I have sent to the dealership and Mazda USA. I have been attempting to have safety recall repair on my vehicle since 05/12/19. I received a safety recall 3219d letter for my 2017 Mazda3. I scheduled an appointment at bill hood Mazda on 05/29/19 @8:00am. Upon arrival at the dealership, I was told their computer to recalibrate the relay for this recall was broken and I would need to reschedule. Les in the service department told me that it was ordered and would be in by the next Tuesday, 06/05/19. I went home and on 06/09/19 I rescheduled for 06/12/19 @8:15am, with a request that if they were unable to perform the recall repair to please contact me and I provided my phone number and email address. I once again arrived at the dealership on 06/12/19 @8:15am and was told by les in the service department that they could not perform the recall repair because of their computer was obsolete. I asked why I was not called to reschedule, he told me he did not see the appointment. He told me that he had no idea as to when the new computer would be in so I could not reschedule. On 06/13/19, I emailed the dealership with the same information listed above, asking about this recall repair computer, but have not received a response. I am frustrated with the lack of customer concern for this windshield wiper safety recall. I live in south louisiana, where afternoon thunderstorms are daily on my commute home. We currently own two vehicles, both are Mazda3 and purchased new, in 2010 and 2017. I cannot understand why your site Mazdarecallinfo. Com is redirecting me to bill hood Mazda to schedule appointments if they do not have the correct equipment to perform the service. Can you please let me know when Mazda can repair my vehicle?.

49 Wiper problem of the 2017 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 05/03/2019

It has been more than one month since a recall has been placed on my make and model, neither the manufacturer or dealer of my vehicle attempted to contact me to inform of this recall so I can take necessary measures. I just so happened to google Mazda 3 windshield wipers and stumbled across an article. This is unacceptable as this could end up being dangerous.

50 Wiper problem of the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

Got alert regarding air bags while driving. Also rear mirror fell off the plastic casing while driving on freeway. They both happened at different instances. But both happened when I was driving freeway and scared me. Took into Mazda dealer and they said that both were known issue and airbag issue is unannounced recall.

51 Wiper problem of the 2018 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 04/30/2019

The window wipers stop working all of a sudden when on the interval setting. I have to turn them off and then on again for them to begin working once more. This has happened multiple times, usually after the wipers have swiped once or twice on that setting while driving.

53 Wiper problem of the 2015 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 02/15/2019

My cars infotainment system, which includes the rearview camera, started malfunctioning in early 2019. The infotainment screen (for the clock, radio, gps and rearview camera) was in a reboot loop (constantly rebooting over and over). When the car is put in reverse, the rearview camera works sporadically, including shutting off in the middle of reversing the car. I took the care to the original dealer and (per the service invoice attached), they diagnosed the problem as "cmu failure" which would cost me $1000 (one thousand dollars) to fix. I refused, as I did not think it was appropriate for the cmu to fail roughly four (4) years after purchase. I googled the problem and it's evident that many other Mazda owners have experienced the same problem.

54 Wiper problem of the 2018 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 01/25/2019

On 1/25/2019 in the morning I went outside to take my dog out and noticed that the sunroof on my 2018 Mazda 3 was cracked and had a fairly large hole in it. The car had been parked on my street outside my home over night. At first I thought it may have possibly been from someone trying to break into my car. However, upon further investigation I noticed that the glass was actually bubbled up and away from the inside of the car and not inwards. Based on this I was able to rule out someone striking the glass with force from the outside of the car. I believe the glass to have been defective as the car was parked and not in use while this incident had happened.

55 Wiper problem of the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 12/03/2018

Rear defroster dont work. When I push the defrost button it stays on for 5 seconds and goes off.

56 Wiper problem of the 2015 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 10/18/2018

Sunroof exploded while driving on the highway going about 55 mph. Weather was sunny about 70 degrees. No apparent reason why this would occur (ie. No rocks hit the car, etc). Glass shattered into driver side of car and back seats. Hole in the glass was in middle of the pane and expanded out. Car has approximately 50k miles.

57 Wiper problem of the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 10/01/2018

Front control module whch apparently controls my wipers stopped working and I cannot drive in certain weather conditions. I was driving home after work I work nights it was around 3 am and it was pouring ran outside when my wipers stopped working and I was stuck on the side of the road for over 2 hours . It happened two days after my warranty expired, Mazda refused to help me.

58 Wiper problem of the 2018 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 09/13/2018

On September 13th, 2018, I was driving out of the state, during a road trip on my way from cannon beach to portland in the state of oregon around 9pm, I was driving my 2018 Mazda 3 on north of highway I-5 when rain began during rush traffic. I had the automatic front wipers on and they began performing their function for about 3 minutes when all of a sudden they went off. Rain got heavier and even after trying to actuate the wiper lever to high speed, the front wipers failed to start working again. I was in the middle lane of a three-way road and was having a hard time trying to see through to go stop and park in a shoulder. Traffic began to slow down and I could barely see through the windshield. I turned on the emergency lights and began honking to try to stop in the left shoulder. However, traffic suddenly began to stop and I had to hard brake before crashing into a truck in front of me, but another truck managed to barely evade me however it did scrape me and the rear of the car, I could not see the license plate of the truck due to the wipers not working during the downpour. I had to wait on the shoulder until the rain stopped, tried calling roadside assistance but the rain eased. The rear bumper of the vehicle got damaged because of the wipers failure, however the safety concern could have been worse such as the vehicle getting me into major accident where more than one causality could have occurred. Other than that, the time wasted during my vacations and resources to push hotel stays is minimal yet to be accounted for. But now the distress of the incidents has led to mental repercussions.

59 Wiper problem of the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 07/18/2018

All of the windows have bubbles and ripples in the factory tint which causes poor visibility. The windows have to be rolled down to to see oncoming traffic. The ripples and bubbles are so bad that you can't see out of the rear view or side view mirrors which could easily cause an accident.

60 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 07/01/2018

Defective dashboard that cannot withstand exposure to sunlight, resulting in the dashboard melting, emitting a noxious smell and taking on a reflective quality. When the dashboard becomes reflective, drivers trying to see through the windshield have to struggle to see past the image of the dashboard in the windshield. Mazda failed to notify consumers timely the defect. When class action lawsuits were filed, Mazda was forced to take action. They offered a limited extended warranty to fix the "cosmetic issue" that resulted. However, bright light reflecting off the melted dashboard is temporarily blinding, causing a harsh glare on the windshield and obscuring vision, putting the driver and others at risk. In addition, Mazda is failing to take any action on vehicles outside of the warranty date, stating that it is the consumer's responsibility to obtain service within a timely manner. Upon contact of Mazda corporate office, there is no record of me even owning the vehicle and my VIN number is still listed until the original owner of the vehicle from 7 years ago. I have never received a single notification of a recall or warranty extension since taking ownership of this vehicle in 2012. Official start date of the dashboard melting is unknown, however has gotten progressively worse in the past few months. Upon contact of the dealership to address issue, I was notified I was out of the warranty window and there was nothing they could do to assist.

61 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/01/2018

The dash on my vehicle has melted and become shiny and hard to see when driving. It appears this is a known issue and Mazda has "extended" the warranty on the dash, however since my car has a "branded title" from hail damage this excludes my vehicle. Also the issue is outside the 10 year extended warranty. This is a known issues and is listed on the Mazda website. Multiple people have the same issue. After contacting Mazda they will not replace the dash. Since this is a known issue and safety hazard I believe it should be a recall vs them extending the warranty to save costs on not having to replace certain vehicles. Https://insidemazda. Mazdausa. Com/press-release/mazda3-and-mazda6-warranty-extension-statement/.

62 Wiper problem of the 2018 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 02/01/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Mazda 3. While the windshield wipers were activated, the contact noticed a cloudy film on the windshield that obstructed her view. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact replaced the windshield wipers, wiper fluid, and buffed the windshield. The vehicle was taken to a windshield specialist who stated that the windshield should be replaced. The vehicle was taken to global auto mall (1099 rt. 22 west, north plainfield, NJ 07060, (866) 233-6719) where it was diagnosed that the windshield wipers and fluid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 12263978563. The contact was referred to the dealer. The insurance company was contacted and stated that the windshield should be replaced. The failure mileage was 19,185. The VIN was unknown.

63 Wiper problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/18/2017

On or about August 18th, I was driving through slow-down traffic passing the scene of a multi-car accident on highway 101 in san mateo county, CA at 35-40 mph. Without warning, the moonroof glass exploded. (it was closed at the time. ) there was no loud noise preceding the event, and no sign of any foreign object striking the car, nor among the debris. A week later, I had the glass replaced at putnam Mazda in burlingame, CA. I paid for the repair out of pocket (us$790. 61). But in talking to the service rep, he confirmed that no outward cause for the failure was apparent. All gaskets and seals were intact and installed correctly, all mounting points were within tolerances, and the sunroof operated normally. The only sign of an issue was the actual broken glass. At this time I was told I was the third Mazda3 owner that week to come in for a moonroof repair (the second one that very day). This points more to a latent defect in the material/part, rather than a force majeure situation. And seeing as the car was repaired at a Mazda dealership with Mazda-approved parts, that leaves me concerned that this exact same failure might happen again in the future. I reached out to Mazda USA, and my request to have my expenses reimbursed was denied because without "inspection or diagnosis from the dealer we would not be able to review for reimbursement". It should be noted that the Mazda dealership that performed the repair recommended that I seek out a goodwill reimbursement from Mazda USA.

64 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/01/2017

The dash board is melting and causing problem seeing. I received a letter a while back stating there was issues with the dash boards becoming sticky or melting mine has just started doing this and its making it difficult to see on really sunny days from the glare that it reflects on the windshield on the driver side. This is very dangerous I called Mazda about it and was told there was nothing they was gonna do about this issue. I dont understand how they can not fix it when its cause of the dashboard they put in the cars. This is not only poor customer service but also could risk people lives. I am not happy about this. This has been happen and only getting worse as time goes on I dont have a certain date so I just picked one below.

65 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/25/2017

My dashboard has been melting caused me to drive off road and almost to have accidents numerous times when the sunlight and the traffic light at night reflects on the dashboard/windshield and blinds whos driving and u cant even clean it just wish that it would be resolved before something worse happens.

66 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/13/2017

Vehicle was parked in a secured company parking lot. When I left work, the sunroof glass was smashed. There was nothing on the roof of the car. I thought a huge tree limb may have fell on the car and someone moved it but there was nothing nearby to explain what happened. I had the sunroof repaired and forgot about it until I just saw information about this happening on other cars. Reporting to you for statistical purposes. Sunroof glass shattered, vehicle was stationary (parked), the high temp that day was 90 and the low was 72, nothing was on top of the car (rock, tree, etc), no known reason for why the glass broke.

67 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 02/24/2017

My dash has glare from dash melt.

68 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 12/30/2016

The dashboard is melted and sticky and that makes it bright with the sun and reflected in the glass internally and makes day driving very difficult.

69 Wiper problem of the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 11/08/2016

When driving any time the sun is out, reflections from the dash against the inside of the windshield are very pronounced and can significantly effect visibility. I have been driving for more than 50 years and I know all cars have the phenomenon on occasion. Unfortunately this Mazda 3 restricts vision as I have described every day the sun is out for 90% of the driving time. It is more than a distraction, I believe it is a hazard and accidents will occur because of it.

70 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 07/10/2016

Sticky dashboard interferes with windshield glare he windshield tend to get a very bad glare and makes it hard to drive due to the dash board. The dash board is all sticky and gets worse with the heat.
