1 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2017

The contact owns a 2007 Mazda 5. While driving 30 mph, the steering wheel became inoperable and the steering wheel indicator illuminated. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle, but the failure seized. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power steering pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v374000 (steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
