The contact owned a 2012 Mazda Mazda5. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, a deer wandered into the middle of the road, and the contact depressed the brake pedal and the wheels locked up, causing the tires to slide. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch, spun around, and struck another object, causing the vehicle to land back into the ditch where it came to a stop. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. A bystander called 911, and the contact was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The contact bit his lips hard during the crash, which caused the bottom two front teeth to pierce through the bottom lip. The contact sustained a severe cut to the right leg, which led to excessive bleeding. The contact also sustained pain in the neck and lower back. The contact was given an x-ray and a CT scan to check for internal injuries, but none were found. The contact was released the same day. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow yard, where it remained. The vehicle was destroyed. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 226,000.

I bought the car last December 2015, and it is already blinking. I'm not really exactly sure when it was actually started this problem and I believed it's in the drivers side "air bag" .

Airbag lit and blinking on the dash board panel. I took it to Mazda dealership to have it check but I was told to pay $150. 00 just to diagnostic test plus labor & parts when repair is will be done by them. Is this part of safety recall ? for airbags .
I was backing up from a parking slot in a neighborhood shopping center, when the air bag on the steering wheel just exploded, and I was pinned to my seat. I pushed on the bag and it started to deflate. My seatbelt which had locked me into the seat, moved enough to allow me to dislodge it. When I got out of the vehicle and inspected the car. The only thing I found was a scape mark underneath the center of the front bumper. Located in the parking slot was a concrete barrier situated in the front of the parking slot. The barrier is discribed as being five(5) foot long by four(4)inches high and five (5) inches wide. As I was backing out I did not feel any friction, vibration or hear any noise.
