The low beam headlights stopped working. The bulb is functional but there is a problem with the connection . If I bang on the headlight assembly the bulb starts working.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the headlight assembly would not to be replaced or they would have to resurface the headlight lenses to correct the problem. The low beam headlights continue to go out. I have replaced them number of times. This is not just a problem with my car numerous Mazda3 owners and Mazda6 owners are having this same problem. This is especially dangerous when the lights go out at night.
