We received a notice for a recall on the airbag last March 2015. We contacted the local Mazda dealership in August 2015 asking when we would have our airbags replaced. We were told that they had no idea when the part would come in. Maybe in 2016. We are driving around with an unsafe airbag. Has NHTSA set a deadline for replacement of the airbags? this delay is scary and frustration. Mazda is in no hurry what steps can we take to the airbags replace now?.

Takata recall. Received recall letter in Feb 2015. Letter stated that I will be notified when parts are available. Still waiting.
2nd complaint on this board. As of February 2015 we are still waiting for Mazda to send us a 2nd letter which will allow us to make an appoitment with the dealer to get the air bag fixed. Due to the seriousness of this situation we have not driven the car since Feb. What exactly is a reasonable amount of time to handle a recall ?? Mazda cannot even give me a time frame when I call to find out when we will receive the 2nd letter. Our state had a report on this recently and the governer told us not to be alarmed and it was ok to drive our cars. So tell me how metal fragments released into the air from the airbag is safe - and how long is a resononable amount of time? why has our goverment not done anything to expedite this situation ?.

Takata recall - the concern regarding these airbags was first raised in 2014, I was notified by Mazda in January of 2016 that my vehicle in involved, when will my car be rendered safe? the dealer has not been able to provide me with any updates on this recall. I am very concerned about this potential danger. Please help.
Takata recall; notified in June 2014 and repairs still not completed and told parts are not available.
Takata recall - the takata recall has continued since 2014 with no fix in sight. Our vehicle is still on the road and a danger to it's occupants. This recall should never have lasted this long. Mazda should either fix the problem or purchase the car from me since I cannot sell it with this potentially deadly defect.

Takata recall I received a letter from Mazda almost 3 years ago in Feb 2014. I keep getting letter after letter for 2 years now saying that they don't have the parts. This is unacceptable as this recall can cause serve injuries or even death.
Failure of airbags to deploy upon impact.
Takata recall trying for 4 yrs now always told no part for it or call Mazda.
My daughter's Mazda was involved in a fender bender which deployed the driver air bag, while the police officer was taking the accident report from the drivers involved, the officer noticed that the airbag was starting to smoke and then burst into flames. Only the interior of the vehicle burned from the dash to the back seat(the fire department arrived and put the fire out) I have video of the fire and I'm hoping the officer put his observations in the report. The officer said he never saw an air bag catch fire like that.
2007 Mazda6 on 2 lane rd. 35mph zone maybe going a little faster ran off rd. Hit rt. Curb car bounced crossing center line hitting krt bus (public bus} head on causing front of car to buckle then rolled per police report one time. Front driver airbag is the only air bag to deploy. Police not sure if driver was wearing a seatbelt but he was partially ejected through front passenger side window. The bus was traveling approx. 28-30mph. Driver of car was doa. Mass head trauma and multiple injuries are the only thing listed on death certificate. It did state however that this driver died seconds upon impact. The bus driver was transported to hosp. For eval along with the one passenger that was on the bus which injury was a broken thumb.
