1 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2014

The original factory bulbs of the tail light / brake light on both the driver and passenger sides of my 2009 Mazda 6 touring are melting the red plastic inside the lens and becoming deformed. This is causing visibility issues for vehicles behind me as the light is shining through as white instead of red. The exterior lens is not damaged, just the interior lens closest to the bulbs. I have contacted the dealer where I purchased my car and no recalls have been issued for this problem. I believe this is a manufacturer design flaw that could lead to a fire and reduced brake light visibility for drivers driving behind me.
