The contact owns a 2009 Mazda, Mazda 6. The contact noticed a large amount of gasoline leaking from the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the failure was contributed to a crack in the upper portion of the fuel tank. A temporary repair was performed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and repaired under NHTSA campaign id number: 11v134000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact stated that the fuel tank replacement should have been included in the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
