36 Wiper problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 02/17/2015

Windshield was cracked from driver side top under weatherstrip and continued about 18 inches and continuing to crack. Car was parked for 2 days at house. No site of anything impacting it, just a long smooth crack from under the rubber. I believe it to be a stress crack from design flaw.

37 Wiper problem of the 2015 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 02/16/2015

Brand new vehicle and received a twenty-six inch long glass break on the front windshield from a small tiny rock. The break begins at the structure of the windshield frame and extends beyonds. This is the first vehicle I've ever experienced to receive any break in the glass from a tiny rock along with the need to replace the entire windshield. Furthermore, days later another tiny rock hit the front windshield in the same area and created once again another break but a chip instead.

38 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 02/02/2015

The dashboard has begun to melt from exessive heat. Not only is it sticky to the touch, but it has become very reflective which at times can reflect & obscure you vision when driving. This is clearly a driving hazard, and it is very unprofessional for Mazda not to help in the manner. I contacted Mazda, they proceed to advice that my warranty had expired about 2 years ago and there was nothing they could do. They suggested that I take it to an authorized Mazda dealer for an inspection. From there I was to contact their claims department (18002225500) to see if they could help with the cost of the repair as part of an after warranty aid.

40 Wiper problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 10/30/2014

The dashboard is melting and the mate black material has become sticky and shiny causing a glare on the windshield.

41 Wiper problem of the 2015 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 10/30/2014

After my first trip on the highway in the 2015 Mazda6, it got three chips/cracks in the windshield. This is not from a sizable stone, but tiny pebbles that in other cars would not have been affected. After owning many cars over the years, I have never witnessed one to be so quick to get cracks. I am quite bothered that in only seven days my new car needs something replaced due to a weak component.

43 Wiper problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 09/16/2014

I have noticed that my dashboard is melting and is very gooey and sticky. It is now creating a very hazardous glare on my windshield. This is only on the passenger side. It is also emitting a very unpleasant odor that I feel could be toxic. I really need to know what can be done by the manufacturer to fix this problem before it gets worse or may cause someone driving this vehicle to cause an accident due to the glare that is now interfering and we cannot get a clear view of what's in front of us.

44 Wiper problem of the 2015 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 08/28/2014

We were on a highway access road, slowing for a turn onto an overpass. A piece of gravel from a gravel truck hit the windshield. We were not following closely. We did not see the gravel. Within seconds of the gravel impact, and as we slowed and turned onto the overpass, the windshield developed an over 20 inch crack. We had to replace the entire windshield, which cost us a $500 deductible. Gravel trucks are a fact of life. On all of our other cars, we have had to repair windshield rock chips. This is the first car we've owned where a piece of gravel resulted in a replaced windshield. This is concerning.

45 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

There are two recalls open for my vehicle and for none there are no parts available in any dealer. My Mazda 6 2010 has a passenger air bag inflator recall and a melter dashboard recall. Both create safety hazards for me and my family yet the melted dashboard has been an issue for over two years and I am still awaiting from Mazda the second letter they promised to send me to take the vehicle to repair. The rubber or plastic that is melting is converting into a glue like substance that gets on my cloth seats and worst of all, in my windshield which causes glare and disrupts my vision. I end up having to remove it with other material that causes my windshield to become sticky. The material ends up in my steering wheel resulting in additional safety issues. I have tried to sell the car but no one will buy it in that condition. I have been patient for two years but at this point it is unreasonable the amount of time that I had to wait. I own another Mazda but fortunately it has not had similar issues. The situation is abusive and should have been resolved already. If Mazda cannot fix it in a timely manner they should be providing a replacement vehicle temporarily due to the safety concerns. I just contacted ocean Mazda in miami and the service dept. Confirms that they still do not have the parts for both recalls. It is insulting! I am sending an email flash to 21,000 + service providers that the company that I work for has in their data base so that they become aware of the issue and stay away from Mazda and their vehicles.

46 Wiper problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 07/21/2014

The dash has developed a glossy sheen from the deterioration of the material. Due to the deterioration, the dash cannot be cleaned and over the past year the affected area has grown. Due to the glossy nature of the affected area, light reflects onto the windshield causing reduced visibility. There have been several close calls when turning and the change in angle of the sunlight and the resulting reflection has prevented the driver from seeing objects in the path of the vehicle as it turns to the right including pedestrians and cars entering the roadway. The incident of close calls will increase with the increase in the affected area of the dash and will become increasingly dangerous if the affected area spreads to the driver side of the dash.

47 Wiper problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 07/21/2014

Dashboard is melting and it creates a glare that reflects on the windshield making it difficult to see ahead, especially on sunny days or at night. Thought it was an isolated case until decided to do some research on it, finding out it is happening to plenty of other consumers.

48 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 07/08/2014

The dashboard on the passenger side of the 2010 Mazda 6, 2. 5l has melted from high temperature of the southern part of the united states. The surface has become very sticky and reflective. The sticky material has gotten smeared onto the windshield and is not removable, the more you try to wipe it away so the read can be seen the more it smears blocking more and more of the view. When the sun hits the windshield the smears completely block the behind view and the light reflects off of the dash surface, now a sticky smeared liquid, it reflects into my eyes while driving causing temporary blindness to the point I have to slow down and brake sometimes pulling off the road due to lost visability. No cleaners or chemical detergents were ever used to clean the windshield, the dash melted from normal hot summer temps. Apparently Mazda knew of this problem and failed to disclose it at purchase, if they did I would not of bought it. It costs 1,500. 00 to fix and Mazda refuses to pay for the repair. Once this sticky substance gets on the windshield it is permanent. This is a very dangerous defect and I'm sure will lead to deaths.

49 Wiper problem of the 2007 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 06/21/2014

When is the government going to take the responsibility to readdress plastic headlights that cannot withstand normal use, cloud up, and create a safety hazard. My Mazda no longer has normal light output due to inferior lens. This is a vital safety part of a car that should last substantially longer than the 7 years I have owned the car. Yes, I have tried chemicals. This is a safety issue; not an exterior trim problem. Cost to replace is unreasonable. It is almost like driving with no lights at all at this point!.

50 Wiper problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 06/20/2014

I was driving normal to work, no speeding, no heavy traffic, traffic is normal, the car in front of me was 3 car-space ahead of me, but all the sudden I saw my front wind shield cracked, it started small, and then as I kept driving, the crack grows longer & longer, then the crack start to split into few more smaller cracks, I didnt see any rocks or didnt hear anything hit the wind shield, it just all the sudden crack a line, watching it grows longer, and then I tried to open my side windows, then the crack would stop growing. I got nervous & drove like 50mph arrived at my work parking lot, but after work when I drove home (at night) I dont notice the crack grows anymore. I suspect it has something to do with the heat & air pressure due to inproper installment of the wind shield. Im not sure.

51 Wiper problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 06/01/2014

The dashboard in my 2010 Mazda 6 is melting into a sticky, shiny substance with a tar-like appearance. In sunny weather the reflections created by the meted dashboard severely affect my visibility out of the passenger-side of my windshield. When taking right-hand turns I often need to crane my neck to see around the bright reflections created on my windshield from the affected dashboard material, which is about 1 square foot in size. I have trouble seeing pedestrians coming from the passenger side of my car due to the reflections. I have tried to clean off the sticky material to no avail. This safety issue is making me feel uncomfortable while driving my car, both on the road, highway, or even in a parking lot.

52 Wiper problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

Melting dashboard on my Mazda 6. I'm very unhappy about this. A recall needs to be made.

53 Wiper problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

The dasboard of my 2009 Mazda 6 is melting. It has become extremely sticky and shiny. The condition causes a glare on the windshield that can interfere with visibility. In addition, the dashboard deterioration is causing an oily film to build up on the entire inside of the windshield. The film has to be cleaned off frequently and is very difficult to completely remove. Ordinary window cleaners just smear it. The film nterferes with the driver's ability to see in afternoon sun. I contacted Mazda and they are aware of the problem. After I had it documented at the dealer, Mazda agreed to pay for the part but would not pay for the cost of the labor, which is estimated at approximately $500.

54 Wiper problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 04/11/2014

Went to work like any other day, when I returned to my car I noticed a 1ft+ long crack on the windshield. Took the vehicle over to my local Mazda dealer, and was told it was caused by a debris hit. I did not see or hear anything hit my windshield that day, and did not see any cracks after I parked the car. Filed a claim with my insurance and the auto glass company I was working with, as well as Mazda, told me that the windshield was on backorder with no eta available. After about over 2 months of waiting, and the crack becoming over 2ft long and splitting. The windshield finally came in and was replaced. Not even 2 weeks later, did this new windshield gain another 1ft+ long crack. This time I saw the debris hit, but it did not hit at high speeds or have a hard impact. This leads me to believe that the design of this windshield can be easily damaged and/or is prone to cracking. Will now have to go through the process of waiting for a new windshield again, which will allow this new crack to become even larger.

55 Wiper problem of the 2011 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 04/02/2014

Sunglass holder keeps popping out blocking the rearview.

56 Wiper problem of the 2011 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 12/09/2013

Sunglass holder above rear view mirror pops out while driving obstructing the drivers use of rear view mirror.

57 Wiper problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 10/12/2013

The contact owns a 2014 Mazda, mazada6. The contact stated that while parked, the front glass windshield became shattered unexpectedly. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure and current mileage was 3,000. The VIN was not available.

58 Wiper problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 07/26/2013

When looking into the upper half of the drivers door mirror, the objects appear to look as if you have double vision, but while looking into the lower half, everything appears to be in focus. I have gone back to the dealer and they could not see the same effect. I have also looked at the same type of vehicles in the dealership and 5 out of 5 have the same effect.

59 Wiper problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 07/08/2013

I tried to hold off on a complaint but I think it might be more serious of an issue than Mazda realizes. The vehicle rear windshield shows as blur and double vision when viewing the window while driving. In many cases I would have to double take more than the ordinary to ensure my safety and other around me. The glass would need to be repaired, replaced and/or fixed to avoid an accident when on the road.

60 Wiper problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

The rear view camera, needed for adequate visibility when driving in reverse, does not function under the following circumstances: 1. Quickly shifting into reverse after starting the car. In this situation, the top third of the rear view video is covered by a messages that says the car's fm radio is turned off. 2. Receiving a text message. If a text message is received while driving in reverse, the entire rear view video is covered by a message that asks if the car should download the new message. 3. If there is a bluetooth gps device in the car. When the bluetooth device first connects and activates the car's audio/voice system, the rear view camera turns off and will not turn back on. The car's audio page is displayed instead of the camera video. Due to these apparent defects, the only way to safely drive the car in reverse is to turn off all bluetooth devices, then start the car, wait for the car's audio system to complete its start up, and only then shift into reverse to begin driving.

61 Wiper problem of the 2004 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 04/17/2012

Obscured rear vision on sportwagons. Replacements for original replaceable rear blade carrier do not correctly fit the original wiper arm assembly (mounted to the rear window). Both recently supplied Mazda(!) and aftermarket blade carriers have a new tab that interferes with the wiper arm assembly, preventing pressure being fully applied to the tips of the rubber blade. Consequently, only a small, central portion of the rear window is wiped clear of rain, snow or mud. That is hazardous.
