The contact owns a 2000 Mazda Mpv. While driving 55 mph, the hood of the vehicle suddenly flew up and struck the windshield. The vehicle was taken to a shop and repaired; however, the failure recurred seven months later while traveling 25 mph. This time the windshield shattered. The contact believes there must be a defect with the hood latch. Mazda is not taking responsibility for the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000 and current mileage was 118,000.
