Power Window Problems of Mazda MPV

The electric window control for the 2006 Mazda Mpv failed to lower the drivers side window when engaged. When the other window controls were engaged, the control panel on the drivers side door began to make a whining noise and smoke. We reported it to the Mazda dealer who told us that they have seen this problem quite a bit, but it is not on any recall and would cost almost $1,000 to fix. We took the fuse out that controlled the windows and have not had it fixed yet.

My drivers power window on my 2000 Mazda Mpv died for no reason. I have spoken with several others, who said the same happened to them. After calling several salvage yards for a used motor, I was told they have many passenger motors but not one drivers. Is this a flaw in the van? with new parts this is going to be a very costly repair. Window motors on a six year old car should not just die for no reason.

The manual sliding door contained a vertical line of approximately 10 magnets. A metal bracelet came in contact with the magnets which caused burns to the child's hand. In less than a month, the motor and regulator on the driver side window had blown.

When going 48 mph or more and rolling down the electric rear windows, the way the air comes in, it causes the vehicle to shake violently, and the air pressure causes severe damage to ears.
