Failure Date: 04/09/2006

Flat tire caused me to use jack that came with my car, after placing it correctly under my car and lifting car the jack then bent and sent my car crashing down on its rotor nearly landing on my arm. I still have the jack and I contacted the Mazda company to replace the jack. They are sending gift certificate and looking into the matter.

2 Mechanical Jack problem of the 2001 Mazda Protege

Failure Date: 11/26/2001

During an attempt to change a flat tire jack collapsed while raising vehicle. Dealership examined jack, and concluded a bolt looked "soft" resulting in collapse. Please provide any additional information / documentation.

3 Mechanical Jack problem of the 1996 Mazda Protege

Failure Date: 05/05/1998

While the front left tire was being changed the jack collapsed. The dealership is aware of the prolbem. Dealer stated to consumer that this problem never happened before and that the jack will be sent to the manufacturer for replacement.
