Mazda Tribute owners have reported 5 problems related to radio/tape cd player (under the equipment category).
My battery began being drained for no apparent reason. I bought a new battery but it didn't solve the problem. When it is cold I have to have my car jumped to start most of the time. I sat in the car listening to the radio for about 15 minutes this summer and then found the battery was dead. The rear wiper stopped working and my back up lights stopped working about a year ago. Also the driver's side door would not unlock with the remote. I did have a remote start installed shortly after I purchased my car and it has been checked out and is not the source of the problem. Although not life threatening is extremely frustrating to have to continually find jumps and help in order to drive my car. Not having back up lights may lead to an accident eventually.

I had a 2005 Mazda Tribute I, bought in March 2005. In December 2005 I ran off the road and the vehicle rolled twice. I was not seriously injured, but the air bags failed to deploy in the accident. Further, the car radio came loose from its mountings, and whipped around on its antenna cable. I'm not certain, but I think the loose radio hit me in the side of the head causing bruises and contusions.

Vehicle stalled four times in the time I have had it since June of 2002. The cd player also quit working, but my main concern was the stalling while driving , usually around 30-35 mph, going downhill, each time. I will give the most recent date of the stall.
