After filling the gas tank over the three quarters(3/4) mark, there is an extreme of gas. No leaks are seen and a garage found no leaks. The odor is so bad/strong that the car can not be placed in the garage. The odor remain until the fuel level is at or below the three quarters level.

My 2007 C230 has a problem with the smell of gasoline when you fill up. I have seen alot of complaints about the gas tank and its system on line. An when I talked to medcedes I was told they have had alot of issues with the mercedes in the past and that issue. They replaced alot of them at one time I dont know which model. I have seen alot of people with my style of mercedes with similiar issues. This type of thing should be taken care of by the dealer.

Have a code p0016 p0017 I replace the camshaft balance sensor but it’s not that. I found out it’s balance shaft and I found out a lot of the people have the same problem.

My car has a computer system problem. It has to be reset to where it wont erase what is already on the computer system. I can't drive it because its stalling or it shakes to much when u are stoped at a red light it girks alot and I can't drive it cuz it doesn't have a lot of power to get speed when using it on the highway I have had a second opinion on what is wrong with and its the computer system so please help I need assistance my husband and I are disabled also the speedometers is not working.

Car leaks fuel under the seat.

I have an issue that when you fill up the car you will smell a strong gas odor outside of the car. As soon as the fuel level drops down the odor gets less and less. Looked under rear seat and no fuel leaks. Also I see a lot of posts about this same issue with this same type of car. 2007 C230 sport. Please look into this. I even changed out gaskets and fuel pumps. Just in case.

Fuel system is leaking getting check engine lights can't pass smog and egr hoses that run down by the super charger are leaking cause the rubber they used knowing this would happen all have to do with the check engine light on.

One weekend we woke up in the morning to go wash, and as soon as we opened our doors to the vehicle a strong odor of gasoline came out of the vehicle. Inside of the vehicle and in the trunk it smelled a lot like gasoline, it's been like this now for about 4 days and the odor is still strong. It worries me because I have kids. We've been driving around with our windows slightly down, even afraid to turn on the heater or ac.

I have my car in the auto repair shop and the mechanic tells me I need a pvc hose and a oxygen sensor and both those items are on a recall list. He asked me to call the dealer I was told by the dealer that those are recall items but not for my car. My complaint is why if this is a recall item it should be for all cars. Those are the only 2 things wrong with my car. I need help.

Strong fuel smell in rear of cabin.

I purchased a 2007 Mercedes Benz C230 in 2006 from the mercedes-benz dealership and I have had it in the garage. I've only drove to church and that's it 700 miles is what's on my car. I've noticed about a year ago when I put gas it, you can smell it strong. I thought it was because of the type gas (supreme) what I've been using. I took my car to the dealership this morning to get a oil change when the service advisor told me that the car was leaking fuel. There are two rubber seals one goes on the driver side and the passenger side under the back seat. He told me that is going to cost $700. 00. I asked him how is did that happen because I don't drive my car like that for something to go wrong with it. He states that it is very dangerous and driving the car could cause a fire or worst blow up. The gas is leaking and driving the car if you suddenly have to stop the gas would leak onto the exhaust pipe,if the pipe is hot there is a problem. I said well that has not come from me,I have taken care of my car since I bought it. The service advisor said sir, no this is not something that has been done by you. I said this should have been a recall because my car is brand new not by the year but by the mileage and fir something like this to be so dangerous. He agreed and said he will fix the problem. He put me in a rental from fri-mon and said he will call me when my car is fixed. I get home and later around 6pm he called me and said it was something else wrong from the effects of the gas leak and now want to charge me $1500. 00 I told him I don't have that kind of money. And I need help with this because this is ridiculous I need to know if there is a recall or something. Because I seen I'm not the only person who has this problem. I feel the dealership should be held responsible. The service advisor agreed with me that it seems to be a malfunction on their end. I need help! thank you.

Strong fuel odor after filling up my car. After 2 days odor was still there. Took to dealership to be checked and was told that the fuel sending units need to be replaced and will cost $1130. 00. . I have very low mileage on my car 48,336. . This is a huge safety and environmental issue. Very unhealthy to breathe in fuel vapors and bad for the atmosphere. This is exactly the same as the "e" class recall. Why wasnt the "c" class included. Please make this a recall on the "c" class.

Strong gasoline odor coming from car. The smell is noticed after the car has been driven and is parked in my garage. I am scared that the fumes caused by whatever leak this may be will ignite.

When ever the vehicle is filled with gasoline, there is a fuel smell that persists for as much as several days after. There does not seem to be any visible fuel leaking, but the smell of fuel is there nonetheless.

After refueling car to full, car has a strong fuel smell. The smell persists if the car is over 3/4's full or greater. This has happened since I purchased this car but I couldn't determine where the smell was coming from until I took it to the mechanic and he said the fuel was spilling from the top of the fuel sending unit!!! he mentioned that this is a safety issue and that I need to check if this recalled already. I am now very mortified of this issue!!!.

My check engine light stays on which Mercedes Benz stated its the magnetic stabilizer . Which was stated that a recall maybe coming. This causes a malfunction in having your emission to have a faulty reading. I have less than 120,000 on it . When I have taken to the dealership or service the light still came on. To my understanding a class action was taken against the company by this model was skipped over.

Fuel smell in passenger compartment, most noticeable at drivers position, can also smell at left side engine area.

Car will not go over 20 miles after stopping. I have to pull over put the car in park and restart. The car will run fine for awhile and a day or so later, the problem returns. This is extremely unsafe when your in traffic. I'm so afraid I'm going to get hit from behind trying to get off the road. I have been to 3 mechanics and told they cannot fix the problem due the theft deterrent on the car. I have an appointment at mercedes on Friday and have been told it will be approx. $2000. 00 to replace the plate in the transmission. Something needs to be done.

I was driving the car on 01-04-2013 in traffic the car stalled almost causing an acident. And on 01-06-2013 the car stalled again on a busy street near my house again almost causing an acident. I purchased the car from penske mercedes benz of west covina on 08-03-2012. I was told that the car was in perfect condition. And that it had been serviced. Now I'm afraid to drive the because of having an acident. And also they did not tell me that the car had been on recall for this problem. And now they don't want too fix the car. Every time I filled up on gas I would smell gas inside the cabin. I then proceeded to investigate into why I was smelling gas. I looked between the tire and the fender on the car on the driver side and noticed that there was a wet spot on top of the plastic under cover guard. At that point I took out the back seat and opened the access panel on the driver side and it was at that point I noticed fuel leaking. I then opened the passenger side and noticed the same thing, fuel leaking. Now that I know why I was smelling fuel I replaced the seals on both sides hoping that was going to fix the problem. I then went to the gas station filled up again to see if replacing the gaskets did the job. When I got home I opened both panels and noticed that I was still leaking fuel. As I looked hard at the pumps, sensor and leveler I noticed that the plastic electrical connecters that were molded to the top of the lids was no good and seeping out fuel. At that point I replaced both sides. I spent roughly around $550. 00. I know it I had the dealer do it, it would have been double that. For a vehicle only being 5 years old it should not have these kind of problem with it. I am glad that I have mechanic skills to do things like this.
