The vehicle was represented to me as safe to drive, with no major mechanical issues, and that it would pass emissions after only a simple minor fix. After I took possession, the check engine light came on. The car began running rough and showing hesitation. A scan immediately showed a camshaft position sensor fault, cylinder misfire, lean fuel condition, and oxygen sensor/emissions faults. I was also told by a professional shop that the timing chain may be failing. I was then warned that these problems can cause power loss or engine stalling while driving, and that the vehicle in this condition would likely not pass a legal emissions inspection. I was never told about any of these safety or emissions problems before taking the vehicle. This situation creates a safety risk because sudden loss of engine power or stalling can happen in traffic.

The model/year mercedes-benz are well known for experiencing this/these particular issues. My research has shown that these year/make/model vehicles are experiencing the same type of mechanical failures nationwide. The issues all relatively begin around 75,000 miles. I've only had my car 3 years putting 30000 on it hardly driven/cared for **issue found:** oil was leaking onto the ignition coil and spark plug of cylinder 3. **source of leak:** valve cover gasket failure. **recommended repairs:** - replace the valve cover gasket (to halt the oil leak). - replace spark plugs and ignition coil (which were contaminated/damaged by oil). **relevance to warranty:** the valve cover gasket is only covered if it fails as a result of an internally lubricated engine part causing damage. Ignition coils and spark plugs are maintenance items and are not covered by warranty plans. **required repairs (identified mechanical issues)** - **coolant pipe leak – $850** **issue:** coolant leaking from a pipe on the side of the cylinder head. **relevance to warranty:** typically not covered unless it pertains to a failure in a covered system such as the water pump or cylinder head due to an internal breakdown. This is likely classified as an external plumbing component, which is not included. - * feed line leak – $600** **issue:** oil leaking from the side of the engine, traced back to the oil feed line. **relevance to warranty:** this is not typically covered unless the oil feed line is part of the oil pump system and has failed due to an internal issue (usually regarded as an external line). **other items found (worsening issues)** - **timing chain rattle / cam adjuster noise – $6,000** -**issue:** rattling sound during startup. **diagnosis:** noise emanating from the timing chain and camshaft adjusters. **relevance to warranty:** this is covered under secure plus, as both the timing chain and camshaft adjusters are recognized as internally lubricated par.

Lost of drive power and the vehicle steering wheel locked on my mercedes from a damaged malfunctioning steering lock actuator module due to mechanical issues within the steering column such as bad steering wheel assembly, faulty steering lock module or issue with the wiring or other electrical components and the mercedes dealer is the only one who solves this issue no other mechanic in general. My safety was at risk due to I lost power and lost of front brakes due to bad sway bar assembly or components could of caused and accident when this happened on November 12, 2024 the problem dealership found during vehicle inspection was code 25464 they told me recommend to replace electric lock module and repair estimate was $2,829. 78 and before I approved the the amount I told mr ivan velasco service advisor that after they replace the module that if my vehicle was going to be working again and that if I was just going to make 1 payment of $2,829. 78 then I would approved it so I did. Weeks later I got an email asking for more money they wanted another payment for $600 saying it needed a sensor that has something to do with the transmission because after replacing the new module the vehicle did not start up there was no type of communications nothing at all and I responded that I was not going to pay $600 more just cause they don't know what their doing because they promise me the car was going to work after they replace the module now that it did not want to crank up they found another issue that's their fault on not doing there job the right way and for telling lies yes their was flashing blue or red icon on my dashboard that look like a car and a lock would go on and off and it displayed a message saying the theft protection is activated. I want to know if I can get this issue approved and to be considered a recall can you please help I'm so frustrating and mad that they want more money when it's already so expensive please help I would of appreciate it thank you.
Driving on [xxx] to atlanta GA my car would not automatically shift and began to vibrate badly. I was almost hit by other vehicles as I pulled off the highway to check car out. Car was vibrating badly in idle and when I resumed my trip back home the car would not accelerate properly and caused tremendous stress and danger. Figured out that car would not shift automatically and I was forced to shift the car manually. Car would sputter and vibrate badly and would only slightly less vibrate to where I could drive it home in gear d5 and would less vibrate at 75+ mph very dangerous, and would lose power and shake violently going up highway hills. I prayed all the way home and barely made it shaken. I called my Mercedes Benz dealer from the highway and immediately scheduled appointment on 8/15/24. This was a major safety hazard and life threatening situation with my Mercedes Benz C250 2014 car. My car 100% serviced over the years at dealership I bought it from rick hendricks Mercedes Benz of lake norman nc. The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes Benz C250c. The contact stated while attempting to use the accelerator pedal, the vehicle jerked and then the traction control warning light illuminated. The contact then released the accelerator pedal and was able to press the accelerator pedal again to regain control of the vehicle. The contact continued to drive the vehicle for a few months without experiencing another failure. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for routine maintenance where it was diagnosed that the differential mounting flange was cracked in the drive shaft. The contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 17v654000 (power train) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired yet, due to the parts not being available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,192.
The components of the engine being the camshaft adjusters, timing guide, timing chain, valves and pistons that all work to deliver power are faulty and have failed literally mid-drive. I was on a busy interstate during rush hour and nearly lost control of the vehicle as it just powered out while driving at 70 mph then forcing a semi to nearly terminate myself and family. The dependability and safety is abruptly ripped out from underneath you. Without even being able to control the vehicle and it coming to an abrupt, unsafe hault. There were no warning signs. The vehicle has since been looked at and informed me that an extended warranty is in place for half of all the parts and labor above. All should be covered and for safety. My nerves are a wreck and without a way to afford an entirely new engine I am left to contend with car payments for an unsafe undrivable vehicle. Since then the dealership recognized my concerns but has since stated that without a modification to the extended warranty or it being made a recall that there is nothing that can be done.
I have been having issues with my vehicle since I purchased it. Starting with me not having enough power from a start, in an attempt to gain enough power to drive at a safe speed from the start, as if the vehicle lags & no matter the gasoline or service, the problem never corrects. When I'm trying to gain speed to maintain with the flow of traffic safely the vehicle lags notably before gaining speed. I'm now having to replace the engine bc the oil coolant hose burst while I was driving on the highway with my child in the car. My check engine light activated but the only notice displayed on the dash was the engine coolant when it was low. When the hose burst while I was driving about 60mph I heard a pop sound under the hood, saw smoke coming from the exhaust, then a clanking noise under the hood that got louder & louder until I was able to pull off of the highway, & then I noticed a very large amount of oil on the ground that left a trail along the ground from my vehicle. That was very dangerous as my vehicle lost power during that incident. I'm told by the mechanic, the engine has to be replaced. This happened without a warning. The Mercedes Benz is supposed to be a safe & reliable luxury vehicle & not a nightmare to have for the owner.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Mercedes Benz C250. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, the vehicle rolled forward onto the lawn. The contact stated that on another occasion while the vehicle indicated it was in park with the key in the ignition, the instrumental panel displayed car will roll. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred on several occasions. The manufacture or dealer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 46,000. Nr.
While driving the vehicle one day the check engine light came on, code 0340 for a camshaft sensor. Both sensors are replaced, light returns in two days and all problems persist. Vehicle has a long crank, when diagnosed as the timing chain and timing chain tension($4400 of work). Vehicle has 66k miles. After further research this is a fairly common issue. In the uk and australia mercedes was forced to pay for repairs because of consumer protections. I've noticed a reduction in my ability to speed up quickly and I've read anecdotes of people's cars stopping dead on the freeway because of this. This is a manufacturer issue and major safety concern. Https://mbworld. Org/forums/c-class-w204/680776-c250-timing-chain-issues-still. Html.
I was driving on glades road, boca raton, FL. I heard a loud noise, saw smoke and lost my power steering. I managed to pull into town center mall, got out of the car and saw that the car was on fire. The boca raton police came, #5 fire department came. The fire was put out and the car was towed to mercedes of delray.
While merging onto the highway my mb C250 with 58k miles shifter suddenly into 2nd gear. I moved onto the shoulder and stopped the car. The engine light immediately illuminated. I turned the car off. When I started it again the light was still on. When I shifted into drive there was a loud sound and the car julted forward. I shift back in park but it repeated the sound and jerk. I I shifted into drive again (same sound/jerk) and proceded at 30mph on the shoulder of the highway to a german auto repair shop close by. They checked the engine codes and told me that the entire transmission system must be replaced. They said that according to the combination of codes that every major component of the transmission was shot. They said that there is no specific reason this would happen because my transmission fluid was full and clean and the engine didnt have enough miles for so many different parts to have worn out yet. They also said they to reset the computer but the car went back into "limp mode" and all codes came back. The transmission cost plus labor is $4150. This would have been covered by warrentee. Upon investigating this model and the perticular transmission in my car (221. 9) I found hundreds of owners with the 221. 9 have had the exact same problem. This transmission has been put in multiple mb vehicles for the past decade and randomly owners report thier cars going into limp mode and needing new transmissions. I believe mercedes has neglected to recall the problem beccause that transmission is used in several models for many years and they do jot want to be responsible for so many repairs. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help mb take responsibility for this faulty system.
The cel came on and the engine was having a rough start . I took it to the repair shop and after using the star diagnostic system the diagnoses was camshaft adjusters in failure. The remedy replace the camshaft adjusters. Cost $3500. 00.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Mercedes Benz C250w. The contact stated that while in park, the contact noticed leaking from the radiator and the transmission. In addition, the contact noticed gas fumes coming from the oil pan and dip stick in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle and stated that the vehicle functioned as intended. In addition, the mechanic was unable to find any leaks. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000. Oo.
I leased my vehicle in November of 2013. The vehicle is driven to and from work and in the beginning I never had a problem. A few months ago I was driving down the freeway at 70 mph and all of a sudden the check engine light came on and the vehicle lost power. The vehile would violently shake whe trying to accelerate. I manged to continue to drive for about another 30 minutes and made it to the dealer and turned the car off but once they restarted it the car ran fine. Since then then car will randomly loose power all of a sudden it has been to the dealer 3 or 4 times and they keep it for a week and then give it back and say that they were not able to recreate the issue. I have almost been hit once so far and when I let my brother use the car he was almost hit while making a left turn because of the random power loss. I have contacted mbusa and spoke with someone named juan. I continued to call him ans take the vehicle to the dealer everytime it happened expressing my concerns abiut the car as well as safety. Juan intiallly acted as if he cared but that was shor lived as he finally called back on 10/2/15 and explained that his managers and mbusa were unable to create the issue at the dealer level so there is nothing they will do at this point. . . At that point I realized that there is nothing that mbusa will do for me and that I will continue to forced to drive and pay for a very unsafe vehicle.
Check engine light code, p0340, camshaft position sensor. Problem includes difficulty starting car, engine knock upon start, and misfires accelerating to pass at highway speeds.
While driving to grocery store attempted to accelerate from a stop and vehicle bogged down (decelerated before accelerating) and the violently took off. . Have taken vehicle 8 times to different Mercedes Benz dealerships in the atlanta area only to be told that its the way vehicle is and to live with it. On many occasions while attempting to turn across traffic vehicle just stays in place when accelerator pedal is depressed and then it just bolts wanting to let the rear end loose. Very unsafe characteristic of this car. Regret this purchase tremendously. Also many many complaints about the 2012-2014 C250 and nothing is being done.
I've been experiencing a hesitation when accelerating in my 2013 Mercedes Benz C250.
Sluggish accellaration. This has happened several times during the last 2 months. It has happen on a take off from a red to a green light. Where I'm completely stopped and from 0 mph speed I start to accellarate & the car feels like it stalls, almost as if it's getting no fuel. I can have my foot totally down on the gas pedal & the car hesitates or doesn't move at all. I had an incident where I was behind a semi truck, I attempted to change lanes fast before incoming traffic. The car did not move & I almost got hit from behind because the car would not speed up when I tried to accellarate. I've had my best friend in the car while this took place & he was very scared & so was I. I'm not sure if the fuel injectors are pumping the gas fast enough to get the car moving. Then again, what do I know. I'm a girl. All I know is, something is wrong with this car & it's not safe to drive. This does not happen every time but it happens quite too often. I'm to the point now where I don't trust passing other cars and I'm extra cautious when having to pass cars or from lane to lane. I don't trust this car. I've contacted the dealership today & have an appointment to meet with max at the dealership in anaheim hills, CA. I'm hoping I can have an early termination of my lease or get into another car (hopefully a safe car).
The contact owns a 2013 Mercedes Benz C250. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle decelerated and failed to accelerate as the traction warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.
Long pause when trying to accelerate from a stop. Not normal turbo lag, it's too long.
I purchased this C250 in Dec 2013, have 3 similar occurrence were the engine failed to respond. Once coming out of a light, and twice on I-95 both times trying to switch lanes to get out of on coming traffic, and on both occasions the vehicle did not respond to the gas pedal. One of the incidents occurred with cruise control engaged. We were lucky were not killed by the semi tractor trailers. Am a retire air force firefighter and I have seen some horrible stuff on the highways, thank god it was not meant to be those days. I contacted mercedes-benz USA hq. On all these safety occurrence below and all [xxx] at hq 1 800 367 6372 [xxx] would tell me is that vehicle was under warranty. . . . On the last time it happen they said the new engine had backfired and they were going the replace a fuel port or something. . . In this new vehicle. Engine 3x, new brakes, alignment, dead battery, tan leather turning blue. Thanks in advance. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I've been experiencing a hesitation when accelerating in my 2013 Mercedes Benz C250. The back seat belts stopped working. The passenger airbag light all of the sudden now states it is off.
This was not an accident, it is, in my opinion, a possible safety problem with the vehicle - turbo lag; throttle lag; transmission lag. I almost had two accidents due to the lag problems, and have attached a more detailed analysis for your review. Turbo lag: this is the time it takes for the car to go from its naturally aspirated power to the full power of the car at full boost/ peak boost is reached relatively low in the reverse range, but it is not instantaneous power like a naturally aspirated engine. Throttle lag: the drive by wire system has a bit of lag. Under certain conditions, I measured it at . 2 of a second or so. Whatever the value, there is always lag there, and we are very sensitive to it. However, driving ins mode vs e mode does make somewhat of a difference. Nonetheless, the car always starts out in e mode when I get in and start the car. We didn't purchase the car to always drive in s mode. Transmission lag: this I notice significantly and it is, in my opinion, probably the most annoying to me. You'll notice this when stomping the pedal to the floor and then doing the wait. . . Wait. . . Wait. . Downshift. Even if this engine was running only on its naturally aspirated four cylinders, the transmission should respond immediately to a sure footed stomp to the floor with the quickness, as does my four cylinder rav-4. However, the mb c-250 does not! in my opinion, you can reset the tcu all you want, the delay will remain.
