Takata recall: local mercedes dealer in naperville IL is unable to promptly replace the problematic air bag, giving possible replacement date of some time in 2020! we are concerned that our family will be in potential danger for another 2 years, we carry a child in our car! please force mercedes to promptly replace the air bag. Thanks.
I went to an authorized mb dealer and they did the recall for the steering column but not for the air bags. I also believe a recall should be made due to the fact that oil has siphoned its way up the cam magnets and solenoids thru the engine wiring harness to the main fuel computer and has caused the engine to be out of timing. According to your authorized dealership's tech this could cause the engine to seize. According to research this is a known defect with recalls for other engines but is still happening on numerous Mercedes Benz vehicles.
Takata recall - the passenger and driver airbags have been recalled on Jan 2016 and oct 2017 and to date no remedy has taken place.
