Steering Column problems of the 2013 Mercedes Benz C300

Three problems related to steering column have been reported for the 2013 Mercedes Benz C300. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2020

There are 3 recalls regarding my vehicle per Mercedes Benz and their database on their website. I took my vehicle for steering column to get repaired and the dealer did nothing about it. They are refusing to fix the recalls and told me that my vehicle is not under the manufacturer warranty. The dashboard is completely disabled with a warning messages and airbag light on. It disabled my honk, volume buttons, I cannot see tire pressure on my dashboard or how much miles there is left for gas and other features. Service manager told me he is unable to fix the recall and for me to contact Mercedes Benz customer service. They let me leave the dealership with my new born baby and two toddlers. I begged them to fix it and cried so much since I was scared to death to drive away with the problem like that and they still refused to do so. After I contacted mb customer service they looked into it and also stated that my vehicle is not going to be fixed for the recall due to non manufacturer warranty. Please help me out.

2 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2018

I went to an authorized mb dealer and they did the recall for the steering column but not for the air bags. I also believe a recall should be made due to the fact that oil has siphoned its way up the cam magnets and solenoids thru the engine wiring harness to the main fuel computer and has caused the engine to be out of timing. According to your authorized dealership's tech this could cause the engine to seize. According to research this is a known defect with recalls for other engines but is still happening on numerous Mercedes Benz vehicles.

3 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 03/21/2018

This is regarding recall number NHTSA 17v627 and manufacturer # 2017100005. Summary of recall: daimler ag (dag), the manufacturer of mercedes-benz vehicles, has determined that on certain b-class electric, c-class, e-class and cla, gla, glc, glk-class vehicles (242, 204, 205, 207, 212, 117, 156, 253 platform) an electrostatic discharge, when combined with a broken steering column module clock spring and an insufficient grounding of the steering components, could lead to an inadvertent deployment of the driver airbag. A broken steering column module clock spring activates a driver airbag warning message in the instrument cluster, as well as the red airbag warning lamp. An inadvertent driver airbag deployment may cause a risk of injury to the driver and might increase the risk of a potential crash. I contacted an authorized mercedes-benz dealer and was told the part to fix the recall issue is not yet available. I find this unacceptable given it could "cause a risk of injury to the driver and might increase the risk of a potential crash". What recourse do I have regarding this and to ensure my vehicle is repaired & safe in a more timely manner? it has now been over 5 months since the recall was issued!.
