After stopping and waiting at a traffic light for 15-30 seconds, I had my feet on the brakes and left turn indicator on. The "hold" option to lock my brakes was not engaged. The car was stationary. Without warning, the car shifted into drive and jolted forward into the vehicle ahead of me at the light. (I was the second car in line, and I stopped about a half car length behind the other driver. ) the acceleration was not a typical, gradual movement associated with what happens when I release my foot from the brake to drive. It was a sudden and jarring jump regardless of the fact that my foot never left the brake. I tried to press the brakes multiple times to stop the forward movement, but my car hit the vehicle in front of me twice. The steel bumper of the other vehicle was not damaged. The front area of my hood (emblem and grill) were crushed. I reported earlier electronic issues to my local dealership as notable oddities, but none made me this concerned about safety of others, my passengers, and myself. As recently as a week earlier, my rear-view camera froze and locked as I was reversing into my garage, so had I trusted the screen in my car, I would have reversed another 5-10 feet into my garage. I could not unfreeze it without putting the car back into drive and restarting my car. Months earlier, the sensor on my side mirrors started to go off without any other source of danger or collision on vacant streets. The air pressure alert warned that my tires were becoming dangerously flat; however, en route to the gas station, the pressure monitor noted that all tires were now returning to normal pressure levels and no inflation was needed. There have been many peculiar events with this new C300 in recent months, but my primary concern as a caregiver is the sudden acceleration from a stopped position--or from any position--without my direction or intent.

I was enteringt he ontario south bound on ramp to the I 15 freeway , in my 2010 C300 Mercedes Benz, when the engine surged to 6000 rpms and I let up on the gas, coasted, and when I applied the accelerator, it surged again. This happened 3 times, and each time I coasted until I could get off the freeway at the next off ramp. I then applied normal pressure to continue and the car proceeded in a normal manner, so I drove to a shopping center and started to pull into a parking space when the engine accelerated again to 6000rpms, and I flew over a planter area, removing my foot from the accelerator and missing a tree and a pole. I came to a stop by making a hard left turn and braking so I wouldn't hit the wall of the building. There was damage to my tires and wheels and the dealer, after having the car in the shop for over a week, says there is nothing wrong with it. This vehicle has 5700 miles on it, and is under warranty, but the company would not honor warranty by saying they couldn't find anything wrong. My insurance had to pay for damage caused by the unintended acceleration of this vehicle. I am now afraid to drive this car, because I have fear this will reoccur, and someone may be seriously hurt.

At 5:00pm, I was driving the Mercedes Benz C300, year 2009, 9010 miles in the parking lot of ymca in la canada, CA at 3 miles/hr. I prepared to stop the car and stepped on the brake, suddenly, the engine rev up and accelerated. The car jumped over the stop bumper but I pressed very hard on the brake and finally the car stopped and the engine was off. The front of the car was about 2 feet from the wall at the parking lot. I was so scared because it was the first time I experienced the unintended acceleration. I went to the gym and at 6:30pm I drove the car back home, it is about 6 miles from my house. I really feel unsafe with my almost brand new mb. I'll take off for work next Monday and will take the car to the dealer for checking. I was lucky this time with no damage or injury because I was driving very slowly in the parking lot and ready to stop. However I don't want to take the chance next time, it's so dangerous, I can get kill or somebody can get hurt if my car jumps again. I do the research and see the complaint # 10330370 on 05/23/2010. The case was almost the same: when the driver stepped on the brake and the mb unintended accelerated. Please do the investigation by now and feel free to contact me anytime.
Two separate instances of commanded acceleration with my 2008 mercedes C300. I purchased the car from a private used car dealer in September 2009 with 10,500 miles. On November 1, 2010 I experienced my first instance of uncommanded acceleration while slowing to a stop in a driveway. The engine suddenly accelerated to a high rate and struck a parked truck immediately in front of my car. I shifted into reverse and the car sped at maximum rpm across lawns and the street until finally returning to normal. At no time were the brakes able to have any effect on slowing my speed. This incident was not reported to the police since no property serious damage occurred however I immediately contacted the dealer from whom we purchased the car. They claimed we needed to contact mercedes since the car was still under warranty. When I visited the local mercedes dealer the following day they initially expressed interest in inspecting the car right away however nearly 2 weeks passed before they told us to bring the car in for inspection. They kept the car for 3 days and told us they found no mechanical or electrical faults. We were greatly disappointed with their findings and sent a certified letter to mercedes USA with full details of the incident. Their reaction was that the vehicle was operating as designed. We continued to operate the vehicle and on may 21, 2010 a second instance of sudden uncommanded rapid acceleration occurred. I was pulling out of my driveway at a slow rate while slowing to a stop as another vehicle passed by. Suddenly the mercedes accelerated uncontrollable and struck the passing vehicle causing it to overturn. The circumstances were nearly identical and I am positive the gas pedal was not being depressed. My car has bluetooth capability and I have a bluetooth compatible cell phone. Perhaps this caused interference with something in the engine computer system. My car is presently in an undriveable condition and mercedes has not yet come to inspect it.
