1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the fuel system failure is a highly critical safety concern, and my life is at risk. It causes malfunctions with the vehicle, for example, the obd-based emissions test has flagged a lot of (codes p219a, p0300, p0304, p0410, p0305, p0303, p0171, p0301) 5 of the cylinder misfire codes with the check engine light on, as well affecting other parts in the vehicle function properly, acceleration issues, car stalling as though it’s going to shut off. This is a serious matter and mercedes-benz is failing to prioritize customer safety, over cost especially when known faults in the vehicle can lead to potentially life-threatening incidents such as fuel leaks and fire hazards. Yes, the vehicle is available for further inspection upon request immediately each day my life is at risk. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? my safety and other's safety are put at risk every time I get out on the road to drive my car it's putting me and other' live in serious danger (especially with the extreme increase in car accidents in the local nashville, TN area). Despite the vehicle now being 3,000 miles over the 150,000-mile extended warranty threshold. I recently purchased the car on [xxx] and was not made aware of Mercedes Benz having any extended warranty coverage for the faulty fuel system that mercedes-benz had placed on this model. I can only assume the previous owner the car was reposed from was also unaware of this as well. I believe mercedes-benz should still cover the cost of this repair. The fuel system failure is a critical safety concern, and mercedes-benz should prioritize customer safety, especially knowing there were faults of poor quality that they discovered with their vehicles and can lead to potentially life-threatening incidents such as fuel leaks and fire hazards. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

On the afternoon of February 6, 2024, as I was turning into my driveway to park in front of the garage, my car unexpectedly accelerated despite my foot being on the brake pedal. Despite my attempts to brake, the pedal didn't respond, causing the car to collide with the garage door and subsequently damage storage shelves and containers inside. My mother and two brothers were passengers, returning from my mother's doctor appointment, and she became trapped inside due to the garage door collapsing onto the car. Emergency services were called, and both the fire department and police assisted in freeing my mother from the vehicle. However, the police did not file an accident report since it occurred on private property. Subsequently, I contacted my insurance agent, and the car was towed to a repair shop recommended by the dealer. Today, I was informed by the repair shop that the damages are extensive enough for the car to be considered totaled by the insurance company. Fortunately, the incident did not occur while driving on the freeway or public roads earlier that day, potentially averting a more serious accident. Nevertheless, the ordeal has caused considerable stress and sleep loss for all involved. I have since reached out to the repair shop and dealer to conduct a thorough diagnostic analysis to determine the cause of the malfunction. I've requested copies of the data captured by the on-board diagnostics (obd) system and event data recorder (edr), emphasizing that this data should not be deleted without my consent. However, I am uncertain about the next steps if the insurance company removes the car from the repair shop and how to access the requested data. Upon researching online, I've discovered numerous similar cases involving mercedes-benz cars, with over 20 incidents reported and 11 specifically concerning the same model as mine.

The instrument cluster on my mercedes C300 has died. The speedometer is broken, so I can not tell how fast my car is going. I also have no idea how much gas I have in the car nor oil pressure or engine temperature or rpms. This seems dangerous to me.

Collusion prevention system inoperative. Causes car to slow slow down and or stop while on the road. Poses a severe life threatening driving condition for me and other drivers. Many other Mercedes Benz owners across the USA, canada, and japan are complaining of the same error message and issues. My mbusa advisor stated her vehicle is doing the same thing. My service advisor at the dealership stated its mice that are eating the wires. I am taking my vehicle to two other mechanics for opinions on the cause of the error message. I have documents from other Mercedes Benz owners who have complained of the same issue and error message.
Was driving on city street, and the collision prevention assist disabled warning sign came on and I lost power to the car. I'm told this is called "limp mode. " I tried to pick up speed by pressing throttle to the floor, but got no reaction at all. Then some power came back, but not much. Each time I braked to stop for light or turn this would happen. After I got home I restarted the engine and it seemed normal again. However I was afraid to drive it, especially since in the last six months my power steering also failed, and had it towed to dealer. They ran tests and no code for failure was found. They said they found some software updates which they did. Unfortunately, after I picked up the car from service I saw that my main complaint wasn't even mentioned. Only that I sometimes had problem with collision control warning going off for no apparent reason.
After backing out of handicap parking space and moving forward at a slow speed my vehicle was rear-ended, at which point the vehicle forcefully accelerated forward independently without warning and crashed into another parked vehicle (forcefully moving this vehicle approximately three feet) the vehicle continued to speed through the handicap parking lot as I continued to brake without results of stopping. This vehicle ran through a stop sign and into the front entrance road of the va hospital. ( this road has heavy traffic and pedestrian usage) the only way to stop my vehicle was to jump the curb and run into a tree. I feel very fortunate that my vehicle was the only thing damaged. This could have been a devastating event if disabled wheelchair persons or pedestrians had been in the path of this occurrence. I am reporting this to say that this has happened to other C300 2010 Mercedes Benz and needs to be investigated as a serious safety issue. This could cause deaths. I have a witness to my brake lights going on and off as I tried to stop this car.

Vehicle throttle did not respond. Incident occurred twice and was repaired twice. Vehicle has less than 17,500 miles driven. In the first incident, while driving in dry pavement and good weather conditions on local roads, the traction control light came on. The accelerator pedal became less responsive until it no longer responded to any inputs and vehicle was stopped. Vehicle was restarted and driven home. Incident occurred again while driven to dealer for repair. Dealer indicated that connector pins between the throttle body and ecu was replaced. Approximately 2 weeks and 50 miles later, incident reoccurs while driving on highway roads. Driver recognizing symptoms, pulled over and restarted vehicle. Vehicle was towed to dealer for diagnostic and repair. Dealer indicated the accelerator pedal, sensor, and connector to ecu replaced.

On July 18, 2011, I was waiting in a line of traffic for a signal light to change, and as the vehicle in front of me began to move, I took my foot off the brake and my 2010 Mercedes Benz C300 lurched forward and rearended the vehicle in front of me. The forward motion was very forceful and the impact was heavy. This was unintenional acceleration, as I had not depressed to accelerator and while I am deemed at fault I feel this movement is definitely related to another incident in this vehicle reported on may 21, 2011. Please refer to odi # 10403924. Mercedes benz corp says there is nothing wrong with this vehicle. I would like an investigation to this problem, since there is evidence others have reported the same problem.
I was edging out of a parking space in a supermarket parking lot. I stepped on the brake pedal to allow another car to pass. My car suddenly surged ahead, hitting five other vehicles and a pedestrian, before smashing into a barrier that stopped it. I was pushing hard on the brake petal throughout, but it had no effect on stopping the car. It is of course possible that I stepped on the gas pedal and not the brake pedal. Examining the identical model of the car subsequent to the accident, I found that, because of the closeness of the gas pedal to the brake pedal, it is entirely possible for a driver to have his right foot partially on the brake pedal and partially on the accelerator. It appears that the two petals are too close to each other and should be spaced further apart, to eliminate this possible safety hazard.
I was driving on the parkway at ~40 mph and attempted to slow down by stepping on the brake. The car did not slow down but accelerated. And struck the car in front of me. Every time I pressed on the brake, the car accelerated so that the car struck the car in front twice. I tried to turn off the ignition and was unable to. Finally, I pushed hard on the brake enough to slow it down and I was ten able to put the car in neutral. The engine raced but I was then able to turn it off. Despite damage to the front of the vehicle, the airbags did not deploy.
