Car has been in and out of the shop. Initially I have been contacting mercedes about airbag messages and continued message of srs malfunction on dashboard. Airbags had been recalled and supposedly replaced on multiple occasions. This srs continues to remain even after repair or being seen for this issue only for other components to have failed and me having to pay for those in the process. The srs malfunction remains an issue until the next issue is affected. Recently an entire electronic sam module component was replaced as the culprit only to have more issues and the srs remained. Mercedes has contended that each time they saw the vehicle the the srs malfunction was not the problems while other documents were repaired such as battery and sam. In the meantime since then the car has stalled, components that were working are no longer inoperable. There was a recall that was applied to only specific vehicles of my model year which state the srs malfunction was to be replaced and made whole. I never received one of those notices and I will note that my vehicle obviously was affected and should also have this component replaced as it fits the same model year and make of the issues mercedes has repaired already on affected vehicles. This issue has been on going for several years and mercedes has failed to rectify this component that makes it dangerous and causes safety concerns for us with the understanding that their note on their website about the srs malfunction appeared to me a cop out for them to not be responsible for the fix and recall thsr may have affected more vehicles than its originally accessed number. Instead of fixing this issue they continually find other repairs they indicate as the issue only to end up right back with the same srs malfunction and stalling issues with vehicle once again and want to use excuse of car's age as issue and failing to acknowledge and address the srs malfunction. Your system would not allow file upload. I can still provide.

After repair done on the confirmed recall airbag computer/module my vehicle became immobile, malfuctioned. The vehicle warning lamps alerted the airbag malfunctioned, srs malfunction. I seeked service for repair of this recall by experts. This safety issue is still ongoing and urgency is needed for this to be resolved.
Issue: front driver and passenger seat belts do not fully retract despite completed recall service. The seatbelts often "puddle" behind the seats when unbuckled, and sometimes get trapped between their seat and adjacent door. My car was recalled and serviced under mercedes campaign 2021020010 to fix this in October 2021. Also, the right front seatbelt was replaced in October, 2018 under campaign 2017050023. The first paragraph of the mercedes recall campaign bulletin states, ". . . Certain c-class cabriolet vehicles (a205 platform) with pre-safe might not meet the requirements of fmvss 208, s7. 4. 5. , as the front seat belts might not fully retract to its stowed position. In this case, certain regulatory requirements under fmvss 208 might not be fulfilled. If the seatbelt webbing does not fully retract into its stowed position, the consumer may find the operation of the seatbelt inconvenient and not wear it, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash. " in its step 1, the bulletin states, "the seat belt strap must retract into its final position automatically. Provide manual assistance with rolling up the seat belt strap if necessary. " having to provide manual assistance to retract the seat belt does not meet the definition of "must retract into its final position automatically". Further, it does not meet the aim stated in the bulletin's first paragraph about the importance of the seat belt fully retracting. The labor time spent on campaign was only 0. 10 hours (6 minutes), so nothing more than a cursory inspection was done, and not any actual service work. I spoke with my local mercedes dealer and the mercedes USA customer service rep. They are both ok with manually feeding the seatbelt into its slot. This is unacceptable and does not meet fmvss 208. Both the dealer and the mercedes USA say I can pursue proper fix at my expense. This is a failed recall service and I should not have to pay to explore a proper remedy.
1) seatbelt not retracting to proper position causing breakage 2) belt stopper broke off 2x. Replaced 1x and broken again.

On both front seatbelts. After disconnecting, they both do not retract. Often they get stuck hanging below door after closing the door (both sides). I have brought the car to Mercedes Benz service dept in mobile al. I am told that as long as I can manually feed them back there is no problem. This explanation is absurd!.
The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated that the front driver’s side seat belt would not retract and was unable to lock and secure the driver. Also, the rear driver’s side seat belt ceased and was unable to pull out and lock to secure the driver’s side rear seat passenger. The rear passenger’s side seat belt failed to retract and would not secure the passenger side rear seat passenger. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

For the past several weeks the seat belt warning light goes on and the chime sounds intermittently while I am driving with the driver seat belt engaged. Also; while this is happening, the seat belt pretensioner repeatedly deactivates and activates. The vehicle is available for inspection at my home in pleasant view, utah. Can my safety be compromised if the pretensioner is not activated? will the driver air bag function if it thinks the seat is empty? the mercedes dealer was no help; all the customer service person could tell me was there was not a recall on my vehicle. "just make an appointment and we will do a diagnostic inspection for $179. " I have made an appointment with my local mechanic on Thursday, July 29, and hope that he can fix it.
I would like to bring to your attention a potentially dangerous design flaw in my 2015 mercedes C300. That design flaw resulted in me having to cut the seat belt off a passenger, my wife, in order to free her from the car. I will also explain in detail the admittedly rare circumstances that led to this potentially dangerous incident. In may 2021, my wife underwent outpatient surgery of her left shoulder. After the surgery a nurse brought my wife to the curb in front of the hospital, where I had pulled up my car. The nurse and I assisted my wife with her transfer from the wheel chair into the passenger seat. My wife was wearing a sling supported by a spacing pillow on her left arm. The nurse then proceeded to fasten the seat belt around my wife. Since the nurse’s procedure is of importance to this incident, I will explain it in detail. After my wife was seated, the nurse unwound the passenger seat belt entirely and inserted the belt tongue into the buckle so that the lap part of the seat belt went properly around my wife’s lap. To protect the fresh surgical site from external forces, the nurse then placed the part of the seat belt that is normally worn across the chest behind my wife’s back. Had the seat belt been placed properly across my wife’s chest, it would have been forced to pass over her left arm, which was tied to her body by the sling and bandages. It was thus not possible to wear the chest part of the seat belt properly over the chest but under the left arm. Lastly, the nurse allowed the fully extended seat belt to wind up onto the pretensioner. Upon arrival at home I wanted to take the seat belt off my wife. To this end I opened the passenger door, and gently pulled on the seat belt in order to slacken it enough to get the seat belt off her. However, I could not get any slack. Per instructions in the user manual, I opened the belt buckle but the belt was tightly wound around my wife's body. Ultimately, I had to cut the belt with scissors.

Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 17v251000 (seat belts) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer. When my car was taken in for a recall,,,all the sudden they tell me that I have a seat belt issue ,,, don't recall exact explanation, however, I didn't have an issue or error message before that,,,it was going to cost an exorbitant amount. . . I think that the issue was caused by mercedes of des moines. . . . I hate seeing the message and it only started appearing when I picked up my car for a recall fix. I am sur all info is in my records .
Transfer case reseal. I have a 2008 C300 I bought with 56k miles on it, I had to have the wheel bearings replaced immediately. When this service took place, I was informed that I need to have my transfer case resealed and the cam shaft magnets replaced. This car has such low miles on it. I do not understand how this is needed at this time. I have seen on many boards, this is a common problem. Why hasn't mb recalled this yet? it appears the 2008 model is plagued with problems as I have had to replace the steering lock as well as it failed. Again, common problem and not recall. I now have a seatbelt sensor that faulty. All of this before I have even hit 100k. My 2001 ml is well over 200k and I have never had these issues with the ml.
Bank in 2017 the srs airbag safety light comes on and needs replacement. This was a recall. I waited until late 2018 when the air bags came into the mercedes dealer in annapolis to replace for recall. After that the srs airbag safety light still comes on. We take it back to mercedes for them to check and clear. They say it was done. Same light comes back on. We take it back to mercedes today 2/25/2020 and they say its a safety faulty seat belt switch. They want to charge me $1100 to repair. I told them they should have fixed everything properly and I still believe that they just never reset or cleared the srs airbag alert light so that we would have to pay some bogus made up repair. I believe that we are being treated unfairly and that this dealer is being dishonest. The srs airbag light was not reset and it is still on. Help?.
I hit a bear in montana in my 2017 mercedes C300 at 86mph and destroyed the front of my car. The seatbelts deployed and wrenched us into our seats and smoke came out of the front air vents but the airbags did not go off. On the dash the vehicles stated that the airbags in all 4 zones in the car malfunctioned and service is required. Mercedes is stating that the light is from a seatbelt error code but the dash did not say anything about srs or seatbelts. I do not want to put my family back in the car and do not feel it should be repaired. Please see attached photos of the error messages on the dash. I do not know how I can hit something that hard and not have them deploy. Mercedes is doing an internal investigation but they have not given me the results of that and it has been over 3 weeks. Vehicle was in for a airbag recall not takata related on January of 2018 and this was supposed to have been repaired.
The contact owns a 2017 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated upon taking the front driver seat belt off she noticed, it was not fully retracting. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact also stated that the front passenger’s side seat belt was not fully retracting. The contact stated she received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21v032000 (seat belts). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repair; however, the dealer informed the contact that the seat belts did not qualify for the recall repair because the seat belts were fully retracting. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the vehicle recall history did not show that the VIN had been included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 2,500.
Back driver side seat belt hard to engage and will come unengaged without prompting. Brake pads wear out every 30,000 miles back passenger side tire and valve has been replaced 4 times in less than 70,000 miles and still looses air intermittently. Car can be parked or moving. No consistency in when or amount air pressure is lost.

Srs light came on October 2017. I took my car to mercedes of sacramento . The repair tech stated that it wasn't the airbag. The repair tech said that its in the steering column. I believe it is the airbag. I need this fixed.
Takata recall. After purchasing my 2010 mercedes c-300 I've noticed a gas smell from the rear passenger side but this has gotten worse after I park my car in my garage overnight. The entire garage and vehicle interior smell like gas. I then notice a gas leakage spot from the rear passenger side tire. This happens when I have full tank or half of the tank full of gas. I red about this online I called the dealership but I was told the recall/ extension tank warranty does not apply to my car. Concerning the seat-belt the rear passenger side seat belt is default. It does not buckle.

The contact owns a 2017 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated that both the front driver’s side seat belt and front passenger's side seat belt had failed to retract as needed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 21v032000(seat belts); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown. .
