Steering wheel spring grounding problem can accidentally deploy airbag. Recalled in oct 2017 but I'm told parts will not be available until may 2018. This is an unreasonably long time. I went to trade-in this car to purchase a new one and was told that no dealer can sell a car with a pending safety recall except "as is" through an auto auction, which lowers the value of my car by over $2,000 versus a normal dealer trade. How do I recover this loss without suing mercedes? are there any government remedies other than private lawsuit?.

Takata recall. I received the racall notice Feb. 2017 with notification of further notice once parts are available. First of let me address that this is a huge safety concern and it is almost 2 years ago since first notice. Second of all I am trying to sell my car but do not receive the value I should receive due to the open safety recall. My hands are tight at this point and it can't be right to lose in value of the car due to an outstanding safety call which can't be addressed at this point. What are the next steps in order to solve this problem, especially the safety of my my life and the passengers life. Who comes up with the difference in value due to not being able to repair in a timely matter. I believe almost 2 years is plenty of time to solve the issue. Regards.
No resolution since January 2017, I am an active duty soldier often afraid to continue driving for fear of faulty airbag and the aftermath of bodily injury that could potentially occur to me and others.
