The shifter randomly stops working so I could have the car in reverse and not be able to put it in drive and be stuck in traffic or vice versa. I can have the car and drive and not be able to put it in reverse. I'd be stuck in traffic very dangerous.

Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? there were no warning lamps or error messages prior to the failure. The issue first appeared June 20, 2025 and began occurring intermittently before worsening over time.

My 2016 cla 250 having multiple electrical and driving issues that are not recalled. I’ve researched online and found most of these issues are common. 1. Dashboard screen and radio console lights turn off completely. Usb connection triggers electrical symptoms. Front and back seat window control (driver) triggers electrical symptoms and sometimes corrects the problems. Trunk opens by itself while parked and/or stopped at red lights. The instrument cluster has times multiple warning lights turn on and stay on. At times the fuel needle drops completely down as if I have no fuel in the car. The instrument cluster lights stay on after I have turned the car off and locked it as if the system is confused. I have more issues but those are a few to name. I also have video and pictures to prove these things happen randomly then the vehicle can go back to operating normally. I’ve taken it to service and all they have done is reset the warnings.

Check engine light with error code p052e. From my research, this is a very common issue with this engine and one that either has been recalled or is planning to be recalled. According to some online forums for Mercedes Benz, mercedes is being sued over this problem and has issued an extended warranty on certain models because of how common this problem has become. The list of models needs to be expanded to include other models experiencing the same problem.

When we are driving the transmission slip intro neutral ramdomly message appear « do not shift in gear, visit dealer » we need to stop the car on the high way put it in park and after in drive . Its happen really often and my wife d’ont want to drive it any more because its to dangerous with kid, we need a solution.

Vehicle cluster lights go black while driving. . . Dangerous due to no fuel gauge. . No speed gauge. . . No speedometor. . No seat belt warning and no blinkers to exit highway safely. . . . There is a danger of crashing as vehicles goes hesitant during black periods. . . This is an ongoing problem with mercedes as documented for numerous years with numerous vehicle's and different models. The safety of my driving this vehicle has come down to your ethics. . Does mercedes value their customer [I think not] or does the safety of highway patrol ignore this dangerous and catastrophe accident waiting to happen. ? As I was driving yesterday afternoon, I heard a noise and normally we don't hear any type of noise or air coming into the car. I decided to open the sunroof to see if there was something wrong with it like if it was stuck open or if something was stuck in it, and the whole sunroof almost flew off the car. I had to pull over as fast as I could into the break down lane and it took me a while to close it and it still seems to be open, I didn't see anything stuck in the guide rails or in the area when closing it. I was very scared for the safety of my children and myself and for the other drivers on the highway. I have made an appointment so the shop and check the car out and run some diagnostics. There are no warning lights or messages prior to the sunroof almost flying off the car.

The cluster panel lights that indicate speed, fuel, brakes, lights, turn signal, engine light, high beams and all other components of safety of car continue to black out altogether or flash on and off continuous while driving. Safety is an issue if your driving and cluster panel blacks out. You do not know the speed your driving at and no turn signals work. The problem was reported to mercedes and the software was reset. The problem continues to happen while driving and is dangerous on highways as speedometer and turn signals do not work. Gas gage spins from full to empty and brake and engine lights flash on and off or cluster again goes black. There are or have never been warnings. While driving it just happens. This has been happening on and off for a few months. Mercedes does not know the cause.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that she would need to pay a fee for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

As I was driving, the car is on d but it slips into n and I cannot shift to any other gear accept p. This happens randomly and happened three times. I noticed the gla250 also had this issue. I have to turn off my engine and restart my car to get it running again normally.

Inside the car smells gas either idle or running. Dashboard lights flactuate and sometimes the gas gage doesn't show how much fuel you have left. Command system shuts off after 3 mins even the engine is on. But mainly, the gas smell in the car. Have trouble breathing at times and I don't haveany underlying condition.

My car randomly caught on fire, it was parked in my apartment garage for a week while I was out of town. I came back to use my car and my car remote wasn’t unlocking the car so I unlocked it manually. When I opened the car it wreaked of smoke, the windows were covered in soot, the visors were bubbled up, the passenger seat had a chunk missing. It was investigated by a car shop for my insurance and the car shop said they felt like the fire started from the wires under the passenger seat. Of course it was deemed a total loss and now I’m out of car. I hadn’t even had the car a year.

Back up camera stop working. Putting gear on reverse does not prompt the camera screen. Called dealer if there is a recall. No recall for this issue and not covered. Read online article that 2018 cla 250 are effected by this software error(issue). Want to get it fixed because this is a safety issue.

I just got the vehicle it’s losing power already, I was driving up a hill as a school bus was behind me, and my car started losing power and rolling back. I have a transmission issue they sold it this way also electrical.

My sister was driving across town and came across some uneven payment near a construction zone. She hit a small-medium sized pothole and it somehow triggered both the front and rear passenger airbags to deploy. There was no damage significant impact when it happened and no damage to the exterior of the car (tire, wheel, fender). It happened today (Saturday) so it was taken to a local independent repair facility. Will know more Monday. Parts available for inspection upon request, of course.

While driving the other day I opened the sunroof when it suddenly made a strange sound and stopped. When I tried to close it I noticed that the left side was raised but the right side was down. It made a whirring sound and moved a little but refused to close. When I got home and looked at it it looks like the windscreen has come loose and looks like it was pushed forward and broken by the linkage that makes the roof go up. It looks like the linkage is bending forward when I suspect it should bend backwards. This has been happening since I bought the car in 2016. Sometimes it opened and while driving I'm afraid it might blow out into the high way. Causing an accident.

While merging onto the freeway on 1/22/2021 the car's dashboard displayed "collision prevention assist plus inoperative " and the check engine light come on. When this happened, it prevented me from accelerating the car by pushing onto the gas pedal. This caused the car from behind to almost rear ended by car. I was able to drive onto the shoulder of the freeway and exit the freeway. I have taken this car to the mercedes dealership for repair but it is an ongoing issue even after various parts have been replaced.

1) the truck opens for no reason whether the car is parked or driven without trunk feature being activated. This happens when driving down a 4 lane highway at night and day. 2) collision prevention of light displayed & won't go off. (see attached). Google indicates that the passenger air bag has an issue.

My class c 250 2014 vehicle. Diving long distances on the interstate started hearing loud static over the speaker system. The radio was not on. The noise turned into a loud screeching/ static noise from speakers with an electrical burning smell filling the car's cabin. I pulled off-highway, turned the car off, the noise/ burning smell did not stop. I let the car sit for about 1 hour. After the car was turned off for 1 hour, the noise /burning smell stopped. This has become an ongoing issue; I have taken my car to the mercedes dealership. They have stated it could be the "star service" electrical problem, but no guarantees; in my complaint, there were no rectifying of on issue. My fear is electrical fire, while traveling. I commute by interstate daily.

The sunroof sounds like its coming out and leaking water.

Right air bag malfunction error and check engine light for crank case. This is a very common problem that mercedes explained to me and also told me to check back for recalls because their vni system will probably show one.

The command unit reboots every 2 minutes with the car on or off. It kills the battery. This is a safety issue as the battery discharges. We have seen dozens of customer complaints online. Mercedes charged 157. 00 and wants another 500--600 for diagnostics. The car has 52,000 miles and just went out of warranty.

While the vehicle is stationary, engine off, all doors closed, and after locking the door using the Smart key locking button or the keyless locking function (touching the door handle), all four doors appear to be lock (can visibly see lock move down to lock position). However, without the Smart key nearby, the rear doors can still be open.

Multiple electrical failures, independent sensors failed prematurely. Air bags sensor, distance radar sensor, microphone sensor, ambient lighting fails intermittently, audio fails intermittently, ac fails intermittently, and engine turns off randomly. Possible defective body control module failure or electrical harness defects. Failures occur when stationary and moving. Mercedes benz refusing to investigate root cause of multiple independent system failures. These failure are highly unlikely to occur individually with automotive grade components with proper qualifications testing.

While driving 30 mph I received a red parking brake error and my car began to be very difficult to steer. I then pulled over and received a yellow pre-safe mode error which illuminated the check engine light, abs light, parking light. I took it took the dealer and was told it was a right tire sensor. This appears to be an ongoing problem with these cars and it's definitely not safe. This definitely needs to be recalled.

Last week on March 31st I went to turn my vehicle on since I wanted to move it from my parking spot in the neighborhood to my garage in order for me to go to the grocery store shortly with my 2 month old baby. As soon as I put the key in the ingnition slot and turn the key I heard like a zapping noise instantly and noticed in a matter of seconds smoke coming from underneath the steering wheel area. Sort of near the floor os the drivers side. I immediately hop out of the vehicle to see what had happened and where the smoke was coming from and just as quickly flames started coming from the same area as the smoke. I called 911 and in less than 3 minutes the entire inside of the vehicle was in flames, burning down. The flames then blew all the windows and moon roof trying to escape the vehicle and by the time the fire rescue came most of the vehicle was gone. I thank god I didnt get to move this vehicle as I had originially planned because it would have cost me my life and my families. I owned this vehicle only about 3 years and it never ever gave me problems. All of its maintanance was up to date and never had any electrical issues or major repairs due to anything. I am almost certain this was a fuse or electrical problem that caused the vehicle to burst into flames due to the zapping noise I heard as the vehicle was being turned on. I had been driving this vehicle perfectly fine which is why this came as a huge surprise. I want to make sure others are aware of this issue since its a huge risk. My specific vehicle has never had any recalls and im always checking and up to date with everything. I will be contacting the Mercedes Benz manufacturing company to let them know of this as well.

I signed a lease agreement with a mercedes-benz dealer on a 2020 cla 250 4matic car. However, due to a pending recall, the dealer cannot deliver the car to me (after a week of signing the lease contract) because mercedes-benz USA instructs them to hold the car before the recall issue is fixed. I searched on NHTSA. Gov, the recall "mbusa campaign number 2020010007 NHTSA recall number 20v045" was reported on Jan 27, 2020, while still "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available" on Feb 28, 2020. I ask NHTSA to act, and urge mercedes-benz USA to either release a recall fix ASAP or let the dealer deliver the vehicle to customer. Then, a customer can visit a dealer for a recall fix when the recall remedy is actually available.
