Equipment Problems of Mercedes Benz CLA250 - part 2

I noticed for the last several weeks my car sometimes hesitates when I start the engine. I hadn't looked into it and wasn't sure what it could be because I changed my battery less than 2 years ago. I hoped it was a fluke or do to the increasing cold weather. Also the car occasionally shudders and hesitates when I increase and decrease speed and one or two the radio shut off on it's own. This morning, the automatic windshield wipers came on even though it was not raining and my windshield was not wet. This lasted for a few minutes before it stopped on it own. Then I drove about a mile and was at a stop light. When I eventually tried to accelerate, I wasn't able to and it was then that I noticed my car had slipped to neutral on it's own. I was on a busy road when this happened. The car also restarted on its own and I was able to shift to drive and continue driving. Thinking this was a fluke or perhaps a battery issue, I continued to drive for a few more minutes and again I found myself at a stop light and again, the car slipped into neutral. I quickly put my emergency lights on and restarted the car. The radio came but on, but I noticed the a/c did not come back on. I didn't bother turning it back on. I was able to drive 23 miles to my destination with no other incident. The majority of the 23 mile drive, after the car had stopped 2 times, was highway driving, so I did not need to stop much.

Sos e call not activated and I’ve called mercedes numerous times. They can’t get the car to respond they say it’s a communication error on their end however the dealership wants to charge me $300+ to update the software when it’s their issue. Also 2 months before I purchased this car I noticed not only was this one of the recall issues that the dealership supposedly fixed. But from the beginning this vehicle has had nothing but issues. I shouldn’t have to pay out of my pocket for the manufacturer. I had received a complementary 3 months of the mbrace that I didn’t even get to fully use before the sos stopped working.

Automatic start /stop failed on highway car would not move, almost caused an accident. This has been repaired twice and now it has happened again. Client states vehicle cuts off at idle cause: . While driving the other day I opened the sunroof when it suddenly made a strange sound and stopped. When I tried to close it I noticed that the left side was raised but the right side was down. It made a whirring sound and moved a little but refused to close. When I got home and looked at it it looks like the windscreen has come loose and looks like it was pushed forward and broken by the linkage that makes the roof go up. It looks like the linkage is bending forward when I suspect it should bend backwards. This has been happening since I bought the car in 2016. Sometimes it opened and while driving I'm afraid it might blow out into the high way. Causing an accident.

1) the truck opens for no reason whether the car is parked or driven without trunk feature being activated. This happens when driving down a 4 lane highway at night and day. 2) collision prevention of light displayed & won't go off. (see attached). Google indicates that the passenger air bag has an issue.

When the car is in idle and in motion, the cabin of the vehicle fills with a smell of fuel, and it was also discovered that the car also has began leaking from the fuel tank located underneath the rear seats.

The collision assist has malfunctioned since I bought this car in 2016 from the mercedes dealer on capital expressway in san jose. They will not fix it, they turned it off and now I have a warning light that will not go away. Before I had it turned off, it used to break suddenly and make a loud noise and flash lights when driving down the street for no reason. It was a distraction that could cause an accident. While traveling with my wife and newborn on highway 64 my 2014 cla mb cut off( while in motion ) and gave a code 'do not shift gears 'visit dealer. Somehow the car switch to netural while I coast the car to a safe edge of the road. We were terrified!! next it gave a transmission code in red to do not shift visit dealer. I'm not sure if any recalls but this is a safety that needs attention!!.

I checked the carfax report for my car and there is a minor damage reported on 01/27/2020. It s not correct. My car never had any damage. Never. And there`s nothing there showing who did this report so I understand that it is a mistake and should be fixed please. Thank you.

Automatic engaging of emergency break while driving or stationary together with signals of collision prevention assistant plus inoperative and two other errors (in pictures). Car was bought recently bought and delivered to me on January 1st , 2020. It has been taken back to dealer twice for same errors. It was replaced the battery twice as dealer indicated it had to do with auxiliary battery malfunctioning which was also another error showing in the panel.

I purchased the vehicle January 2019, the vehicle was running smooth for a couple months. Now it is January 2020 and between the months of September and now I have been to mercedes about 4 times. The car doesn't reverse sometimes while I am driving. The words 'car cannot reverse' comes up on the dashboard. I couldn't use the heat in November due to a gas smell coming in the car. Sometimes I will be in gear 3 and the car will change to gear 5 on its own. As of right now there is a burning smell surrounding the vehicle when you are done driving it.

Sunroof is faulty in this model. Mercedes have recalled earlier models due to similar issue. The have recalled 750k cars today due to this issue and we are seeing similar problems in our 2015 c class. This issue is very serious and dangerous as the sunroof could potentially fly off myself and my wife were driving at normal speed on the highway when we suddenly heard the noise. When we stopped by to check the issue, it seemed like the sunroof was getting detached. When we tried to close it, it made a big bang noise as if something has not been placed correctly. Ever since the sunroof has not been closed properly and we could hear the wind noise inside. This happened couple of months ago.

Unknown accelerated out of driveway, turning left. Collision with object deemed vehicle total loss. No airbag deployed, front end collision.

Sunroof shade has un-glued itself in a matter of time that would not seem to be consistent with Mercedes Benz quality spec.

My radio completely turned off & the whole colonization system is shut down. I cannot control anything like changing the time or lights in my car & I have no working screen. The screen is completely black & nothing turns on or works. It randomly turned off one day & hasn’t come back on. I took it to the dealership & they want me to pay $2,500 to get it fixed. I did not cause this issue, the car itself caused this. I do not think I should have to pay for something I did not cause.

Takata recall the car won't start and this message appears.

I leased this vehicle end of September 2016 but have replaced tires 6 times within last two years due to bubble in side of the tires. I don't think it is issue with tires since I have 2016 BMW with same tires without any issues. It could the rim size or the suspension on this vehicle cause tires to bubble up. I have been leasing cars for 30 years and never had issues like this. Numerous time I have asked the dealer to find out the root cause for it but no luck so far. The issue here is it putting myself and my family danger of our life because it is happening without even going thru a pot hole. Each time when it happened, it is causing me to spend 350 to replace each tire. The transmission also failed last week while I was driving on a highway but lucky I was able to pull to a side without getting hit by another car. The transmission should not fail when the car only have 37,000. 00 miles. I am not sure if any other complains was files regarding the same issues. I want benz to replace these tires at free of cost till they find out the issue and fix it.

Driving home from work yesterday on the highway and the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered, causing me to swerve and almost run off the side of a cliff. Upon doing research I've learned that this has been an issue with mercedes and there has already been many class action lawsuits filed.

While driving to work on a freeway I suddenly heard a blasting sound and next thing what I saw was there were glass pieces everywhere on my body and in the car. The panoramic moon roof of my car exploded out of no reason. I am very sure that nothing hit the roof or fall on the roof. The freeway was wide open and fortunately I was wearing sunglasses so my eyes didn't hurt by the explosion. However, after taking a medical leave from work and having checked up at the hospital I decided to take the car to mbenz dealership to report what happened to the car and know why it happened. Surprisingly instead of looking into the incident they decided to avoid the issue and indirectly accused me of causing it by myself. I was very shocked and disappointed by the way a situation and the customer was handled. I'd urge NHTSA to take further action to make sure such incidents do not happen to other mbenz car owners. While doing research on internet I found out that my incident is not the only incident , there are many other mbenz owners reported the same complaint about sudden shattering of their glass roof.

All 4 tires have blown out, something is wrong with this vehicle. I have never hit anything to make them blow, just normal careful driving. They are blowing out for no reason and it's a safety hazard dates 2/11/2018 2/17/2018 3/1/2018 and the first tire blew approx March 2016.

Early afternoon while just driving off an exit in TN. My sunroof exploded causing shards of glass to fly into my car. I had minor cuts on my lower back and arm from the glass covering me while driving. I was able to safely pull over to assess what happen because my initial thought was that someone was shooting at me. The dealership is not claiming any responsibility for this defect . There were no other cars around so the damaged could not have been caused by a rock or falling object.

The sunroof spontaneously exploded with a large noise raining glass down on us. There were no cars around, no objects hit the sunroof. We were driving at normal speed on the highway. This issue is very dangerous because it was startling like an explosion and could have caused loss of control. The car had very low mileage was practically brand new in perfect condition.

Pre safe functions limited light and inoperative traction control light comes on car immediately loses 50 percent power and will not accelarate. 15 times in a 1yr period. Dealer doesn't see a problem. . Today for the 5th time I was nearly hit by an oncoming vehicle. Two weeks ago problem occured while I was in a funeral procession going through an intersection the vehicle behind me had to swerve to avoid a rear end collision. . I do not feel safe driving a car I paid 50. 000 for. .

The vehicle will stop acceleration while driving. The message states "pre-safe functions limited". When the car shuts off for no apparent reason when driving at 70 mph on a highway is really unsafe. I have to coast to the side of the road to safety. I have turn the vehicle off and then I will be able to restart the engine. I have not taken this into my mercedes dealership yet.

Multiple episodes of "pre-safe functions limited" occurring. When this message appears the car suddenly loses acceleration and you are not able to go above 30 mph despite pressing on the gas pedal. This has occurred on normal 35-45 mph streets but has happened multiple times on the highway when the car is going 65 mph. Luckily, no motor vehicle accidents have occurred because of this issue. The car is able to accelerate and function normally after turning the engine off and on again. Have gone to mercedes dealer multiple times to fix issue. The first time it occurred, mercedes updated system software. Next they replaced vehicle sensors. Most recently they claimed the issue was due to oil pump failure. They replaced an oil control valve and oil pan. Four days after the repair I received the same "pre-safe functions limited message, my car stalled while I was going 40 mph. I have returned the car to the dealer once again to run diagnostics. This has occurred many times in the two and a half years that I've owned the vehicle. It is currently at 49,200 miles and has been properly serviced. Each time I bring the car in for this error message mercedes replaces a new part but it does not solve the problem.

I have had the same issue of the car, being in park for over 5-10 minutes, suddenly lunging forward. It is quiet startling to have it happen. I worry that when I exit the car with the engine running ( due to passengers still in the car) something will happen. This has happen several times with me.

*** I don't own this car. *** mercedes sent the remote access credentials to an unverified email account. The remote access app shows vehicle location, allowing unlock and vehicle start which could allow the vehicle to be easily stolen. Also I fear that by not securely sending remote access credentials the remote start feature of the app could be used to start the vehicle when it is parked in an attached garage which could inundate the house with carbon monoxide. Mercedes needs to verify owner email prior to sending vehicle access credentials. Additionally steps should be taken to ensure that remote start features cannot cause harm to owners in case online accounts are hacked such as the recent yahoo email fiasco: * limit the amount of time a vehicle can be left running. * limit the number of times a vehicle can be remote started in a row. * add a carbon monoxide detector to the vehicle so it will shut itself down if running in an enclosed space. * require 2 factor authentication when logging into remote apps, perhaps only the first time?.

Making noises like rattling or vibration during driving.

Gas cap door does not unlock/open intermittently. Unfortunately, it's happened as my low gas warning light is on. The first incident after trying countless times at the pump I left back to home and the next morning the door was open. Took it to the shop and mb svc tech could not duplicate the problem. This morning it happened again,. . . . . . . . . . . . Took me about 20 mins of trying to open the lid (somewhat like a push spring-loaded type function) and when I gave up and put car into reverse it opened while in motion. What happens when I need gas and it doesn't open?.

While driving on the highway, I heard a sudden loud explosion, the panorama sunroof shattered and glass rained down on me and everywhere within the car. There was no evidence of anything hitting the car or the sunroof, it just spontaneously exploded.

While driving my cla that I have only had 4 months the car turned off and said it's inoperable! I was almost hit multiple times, when dropped it of at dealer they wouldn't even give me a loan. I bought this car brand new!.

Inoperative - pre-safe functions limited - I've had this error come up 3x so far, it happened 2x just last night on a 10 minute drive. First time was on the freeway, had to pull over to the shoulder and restarted the car. The 2x other times happened last night, driving 10mins in the evening, both had to pull over and restart. The second time, my check engine light came up. I hope this is addressed quickly as I can see that the complaints are piling up on here.

Inoperable message flashed on the dash as I lost all acceleration power. Was almost rear ended by a semi, but was able to pull over to the side of the interstate. Luckily I was not in heavy traffic at the time and didn't get hit. This has happened 3 times now and I am still waiting for mb to get back to me.
