To whom it may concern, I took my 2004 mercedes-benz into the stevens creek location located in san jose, CA 95129 to have the sliding roof bonding recall fixed on December 24, 2024. I have attached the repair invoice to this complaint. It has now been almost two full months and I am still being blocked from updating my vehicle registration because my vehicle needs to complete an official brake and light adjustment certification. However, the recall VIN lookup page (https://vinrcl. Safercar. Gov/VIN/) has been showing my recall as incomplete for almost two full months now. The mechanic that performs the brake and light inspection says the vehicle will fail the test until the recall VIN lookup page displays a 0 for my vehicle. Once again, this issue is preventing me from updating my vehicle registration until the recall VIN lookup page shows the successful completion of the vehicle recall performed on December 24, 2024 at mercedes-benz of stevens creek. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The sunroof has a recall due to the fact that it has a bad seal, which could fly off due to this issue. I know the seal is bad because the whole roof leaked a few years ago and fried all the electronic; e. G. Lights, sunroof controls, trunk light controls, side door controls. I went to the dealership and they said they would not fix it because they could not open the sunroof to see the manufacturer date on it.
My car seat belts not fastened and car door warning devices stop working. I took it to the mercedes service department and told and showed them the safety system was not warning me when my door was not properly closed or when I removed the seat belt while driving. They told me that they needed to replace my instrument cluster in order to fix the issue. They charged me almost $2300. 00 to change the panel. When I went to pick the vehicle up. And I drove off and took my seat belt off to see if the repair was done and no warning light came on. I than while driving through a parking lot open my door and no warning happened. Now the dealership is telling me that their is nothing they can do to address this dangerous safety issue and that I have no recourse to get what I paid for. Because Mercedes Benz corp will not allow them to code the new instrument cluster. I was driving one day and did not realize the door was ajar until I hit a bump and heard the rattling. I have spoken with other Mercedes Benz owners of my model and found they've had this problem, but it is just too expensive to repair. I have been dealing with this now since December of 2021 and now no one from the dealership is returning any calls or offered a answer to this issue. I have spoken with the service director last on February 7 2022. And he has not reached out to me since.
The trunk will not open. It is supposed to open by pressing the button on the key fob or taking the thin key out of the key fob and manually open the truck with the keyed lock. Neither method works. There is absolutely no way to open the trunk otherwise (I. E. Inside button or lever). When the key fob button and the thin key do not work there is absolutely no way to open the truck. There is no way to access the lock from the trunk lid rear and there is no way to access the trunk from behind the back seat cushions. It is a very bad situation and dangerous.
The rear passenger side inside door handle will not open the door. This is an unacceptable safety hazard.
Srs warning light on. Replaced seat control a 211 870 05 26. No help. Service technician could not find the problem. Service decided to replace entire seat frame at a cost in excess of $2,800 including parts and labor. Srs code was identified when the car was stationary and just started in enclosed parking space with door open.

I made an appointment with mercedes of little rock and referenced mfg recall # 2019120012 and NHTSA recall # 19v918. When I showed up this morning at the dealership service center, I was told there is no recall on this vehicle. I attempted to show them the webpage information with my phone and they said if it doesn't show under their VIN lookup, there is nothing they can do. Is there a way to appeal or other recourse? thank you.
This silver mercedes (not sure the year) car has been parked in front of my house for over two weeks, no signs of it being moved at all. 16329 chatsworth street doors are unlocked and I have not seen any neighbors paying attention to this vehicle, first time I have seen it ever be parked here. Possible stolen car and just left there, please check on vehicle and have it towed away.

In January 2018, my car had developed sbc malfunction issues and I took it to the and they quoted me $ 2,700+/- to fix the issue. I then called mb USA and they told me that the sbc unit warranty was extended for 10yrs and that I had just crossed that limit. I then reached out to a private mechanic who agreed to replace the unit for $865 (please see the attached receipt). I was able to purchase the sbc unit from mb of clear lake for $1,045. 70 . Thus, I was able to get the car repair and save my self about $1,000 as mb was not covering its repair. On September 2018 I received a letter from mb USA, indicating that the cost of the repair is reimbursable. I reached out to the dealer and provided all the documents that they requested. However, I was told the repair can be reimbursed only if it was done by an authorized dealer. I believe this is not a fairway to resolve the issue when all the relevant documents are available for a legitimate reimbursable. Mb I believe is not acting in good faith and I need your assistance in recovering my due refund for a faulty sbc unit. I have sent a letter to mb USA and they reached out to me with the answer, "not unless repair done by an authorized dealer" thank you.

My vehicle is leaking fuel and the smell of the gas is really bad from inside and outside of the car. Based on the analysis of fuel tank leaks on model year 2003-08 mercedes-benz e-class vehicles shows me that the e-calls has this issue but my car is a 1999. I would like to know was the year based solely on the 15 year extended warranty or other facts also.

My husband was driving the car with my 10 year old son on i276 at 55mph when the brakes failed. Luckily enough there was no car in front of them and since they were on a highway he had time to stop without causing an accident or crushing. We towed the car to the mercedes dealership and we were told that sbc failed and we have to pay $2000. Had the car towed to Mercedes Benz of fort washington in fort washington, PA. The dealer examined the vehicle and said the sbc unit has to be replaced and the cost is $2000. I did some research and it appears that I was not the only customer with this major safety problem. This unit failed on many customers and apparently there was an extended warranty offered up to 10 years. I have to say that I was very disappointed that mercedes never notified its customers of this situation. The dealer never notified me of this potential problem and they expect me to pay the repair cost for a safety issue that should have been addressed?? to make matters worse, after I reached out to mercedes-benz USA, I was told that the part would have been covered under the 10 year term only if it failed which is an appalling statement. So I would have to crash before the part is replaced?? this is the absolutely most ridiculous thing I have ever heard from a car manufacturer. I have asked the representative for his manager's contact information and he refused to provide it. The sbc unit should be covered at no expense to the consumer because it was known faulty safety issue.

My car have a strong smell a gasoline on the back seat every time im refueling. Some times I have to open all the windows so the smell goes away. And some times a get the message check filler cap but al ready change the filler cap and the message still some times appear.
The error light stating brake failure pull off road came on the pedal was very soft and went to the floor I was on a busy street at the time and almost hit a individual ! I was fortunately able to stop the vehicle! I have read since on line that the sbc unit had a recall but we were not privy to this information and now see that it was only for ten years . Why would the NHTSA put a year end on such a unit that could be something that could cause an accident and possible taking of lives?.
When veh. Is stopped at a light or just in a parking lot, it stalls or will not start right away. Eventually it starts and away we go. Never a warning whatsoever. All fluids are full and battery is good. Rec. Fuel(gas) is always used.

There is a very strong gas order in and around my vehicle when I fill the gas tank. I have avoided filling my tank more then 3/4 full due to this order. This cannot be safe. I have never experienced anything like this with any other vehicle I have ever owned.
Car stalled several times and had smell of gasoline vapors in passenger compartment. Fuel sensor and pump was replaced, issue went away. Vendor will not reimburse service and parts.
Replaced the headlight bulbs on my car. The insulation on the 2 wires to the bulb crumbled on both the left and right when I touched the wires. Wiring is defective. This is a safety issue since the wires could touch causing the fuse to blow and cause the headlights to go out while driving at night.
I have a 2003 E320 sedan, I can smell very strong gas fumes all in the car cabin every time I fill up with gas - not topping off, and no fuel leaking. This is so prevalent I have to leave my car parked outside instead of in my garage. This can last for around three days. I have investigated possible causes and none seem to actually correct the issue. This can be quite costly. I also have noticed many many other complaints filed for the same reason. Please help.
My vehicle was parked in front of store allowing a 93 year old lady to go shopping,as I was parked ther I was sideswiped, I immediately took it to the auto shop to have it repaired, after doing this I discoverd that the key can't start the car because the ignition is jammed or key will not turn, so the car won't start. I called a locksmith and discovered that the ignition is defected.

When the gas tank is full, the car smells like pure gas. I took it to the dealership to be fixed, but they did a "patch" and made the smell so bad that it gave us all headaches even with the windows down. The dealership has had my car for 3 months now and nothing has been done. Mercedes needs to fix the issue, or give me a new car!.
Driver's side carpet design poor and dangerous. . . . Keeps getting stuck under gas pedal creating car to not be able to accelerate properly. No way to keep carpets in place.

One day I fill my tank with gas & when I get in my car I smell gasoline. I'm thinking I stepped in some gas at the gas station. I come home & park. As I exit my car & come around the passenger side I'm smelling gas. For the next few days the gas smell continues to suffocate me. I got on the internet & googled " I smell gas in my 2005 E320". I was shocked to see that lots of other people were having the same problem. The no-cost solution was not to fill your tank, only halfway but then your constantly stopping for gas smh. Why don't the dealers want to fix this problem?? is this the reputation that mercedes wants to create??.
Just like the gm cars now being recalled, my car shut itself off completely while I was traveling at 60 mph. It had to be towed to be repaired---and the diagnosis was made immediately, as the mechanic had done taken car of a car that had the identical "problem" just the week before. Parts replaced were l catalytic convertor and air mass meter.
The interior cabin of my 2003 Mercedes Benz E320 has a strong odor of gasoline. Especially after refueling. . . Gasoline is pooling under the drivers side rear passenger seat. . . I have to roll down the windows to get the gasoline smell out of the cabin. I have taken this problem to my Mercedes Benz dealer and they said the fuel tank was leaking and sending unit was faulty . . . I was quoted a price of $3000. 00 to get unit replaced.
The car started having very strong vibrations at idle speed when car is in reverse or drive and stopped at a standstill with brake. Took it to shop and was informed that the vehicles motor mounts were in need of replacement, to the tune of over 600. 00. Once again I have read a similar complaint in the database and really want to know why mercedes has not acknowledged the fact that this is a trend in the vehicles and come up with some type of recall or fix for the situation. . . Maybe most owners just unbegrudgingly pay whatever necessary to have their cars fixed oblivious to the fact that mercedes claim to fame is quality, reliability and longevity. I for one do not think that a car costing over 60,000. 00 should be plagued by so many deficient manufacturing problems.
