Equipment problem #1

The sunroof seems like it has gone off the track . I am not sure it's locked in and worried it will fly open and fly off the roof of the car.

Equipment problem #2

On wedesday, August 14, 2019 at 11:50 am, the sunroof spontaneously and explosively shattered while driving straight at about 40 mph on a smooth county road near oldwick, NJ. There was no evidence of impact by any projectile and there were no trees or buildings along the road. The outside temperature was about 80 degrees f. The sunroof was tilted open at time and had been in that position since the drive started about 10 minutes earlier. Shards of glass fell into the car interior and onto me (the driver), presenting a danger of personal injury and loss of control of the vehicle.

Equipment problem #3

The engine stalled while in motion and driving over 45 mph. This is the 2nd time this has occurred. Both times I was travelling over 45 mph on a large and busy city street and had difficulty steering my car to safety. There are no codes to explain what might be the cause. Replaced the transmission control unit the first time. After removing the key, putting the car in park and waiting for 5-10 minutes, in both occurrences I was able to restart the vehicle and drive to the dealership, which was less than 5 miles from my location.

Equipment problem #4

Talara recall. Purchased this vehicle about 4 months ago, and now having problems with it. The engine stalls when driving and check engine light comes on. Vehicle stays in first gear and doesn't go to 2nd. Only the rpm.

Equipment problem #5

From the time it was only 1 year old, the climate control system began repeatedly to fail. Some of the repairs done under warranty, but we have now spent over $3,400. 00 on new a/c compressors (twice), the evaporator (also twice) and various and sundry leak detections and recharges. Failures have occurred on start-up as well as at highway speeds. I have read through this model's defect records and found little if any mention of the climate control. Perhaps part of the reason may be that the a/c system isn't included among the choices in the complaints list. Then again, the issue may be unique to my specific vehicle. In any case, I wanted it on record as a recurrent issue. Perhaps the climate control, and its impact on visibility and therefore safety, should be added to the list of options.

Equipment problem #6

Suddently the vehicle trunk does not open, tried both remote key & door trunk latch. Got a message on panel regarding 3rd brake light. . Unable to get the wheelchair from trunk but drove car around the block and was then able to open it using my key remote. Then a few minutes later again was not able to open the trunk, but now the panel read licence plate right and left light lamps not working. . . Night driving is an issue now. . . Ca laws require lic plate be lit and visible at all times. I went online and noticed all the buzz and complaints reporting this same issue regarding brown wire being severed on many makes, models and years on mer benz vehicles. I e-mailed mb customer service to ask about a recall and they do not have one to my surprise. Got a call today from arash @ (201) 476-6200 stating there is nothing mb can do since my warranty has expired. . . I advised him I have under 50k miles on this car, he said that I would need to get a dioganistic test costing me over $100 in order to find out what the problem is plus according to internet comments this is a $250 or more repair cost. I explained my internet findings and he again apologized, said there is nothing he can do for me. I explained my concerns and feel that mb should step up and take responsibility in good faith and good customer service and fix this issue at their expense, obviously it is an electrical issue mal-function and they are responsible for fixing the problem and should not put this burden and expense on their customer's. Frustrated mb customer.

Equipment problem #7

[this is only explaining the first occurrence, this has happened a plethora of times since] after stopping at a fuel station and filling the fuel tank from 1/4 to full, we drove on a local road at an average speed of about 30mph for approximately 3 miles. After this we merged onto a major highway where the average speed we were going was between 60-75mph. It was after driving at these speeds for 10 minutes that we started to smell the odor of gasoline in the cabin. Without any other cars in front of us or any noticeable spill [on the road] that we may have passed, there could not have been any other origin of the odor except for the E350. At first it was a low odor of gasoline emanating from under the front passenger side seat, but soon a strong odor of gasoline filled the entire cabin, to the point of forcing us to roll down the windows. The smell did not go away completely but rolling the windows down to allow fresh air to purge the cabin did help. We have taken the car into the dealership multiple times and have requested a complete check-up of the vehicle. The dealership (euro motors of devon hill, PA) has told us that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle (fuel system wise). However, after refueling [especially from the tank being at 50% and then me filling it to 100%] the strong odor returns inside the cabin. It goes away after the fuel levels have dropped from a full tank to 3/4 full, after which the odor does not return when driving the car. I have just heard about other having the same issue and thought I was paranoid. However, it seems that this is endogenous between all other E350s. Please feel free to contact me regarding any diagnostic data that would help you get to the bottom of this.

Equipment problem #8

Transmission. It is my understanding that this year and model car has known transmission problems.

Equipment problem #9

2007 E350 has strong fuel odor after filling tank. After 3/4 of a tank then fuel smell dissipates. Reference #12-001. Also has been an issue with other mercedez benz e class of different years.

Equipment problem #10

Purchased 2007 E350 wagon June 16 2014, upon first refill of fuel tank noticed the smell of gasoline inside automobile. It dissipates over time. On 30 June, purchased second full tank of fuel and noticed same issue and began research. I discovered this has been an endemic issue with the fuel pump and fuel tank. Am researching recalls and taking to trusted mechanic today to get to the root cause. Fuel vapors are highly volatile and I will contact Mercedes Benz to register my complaint. Will keep you updated. The current multi-billion gm recall is a similar issue that corporate leaders ignored for years and now paying a dear price. Will engage mb of na in a deliberate and dogged manner until resolved.

Equipment problem #11

My wife's 2007 Mercedes Benz E350 smells of gas every time we fill up the car. The smell is noticeable inside and outside the car. We had the fuel system repaired but the smell may have infected the back seat and uphostry. The cost of repair was slightly under $1500 usd. I believe this is an unsafe situation. Had the car been rear ended or hit on either rear quarter it is extremely possible for the car to catch/burst on fire. I'm very upset that mercedes hasn't been required to fix this defect at their cost. I've seen numerous other complaints about this with vehicle in the 2004 to 2008 year.

Equipment problem #12

Every time the gas tank is filled 100% full (only until gas pump nozzle first click) and the car is being driven for less than 20 miles and parked, I can smell very strong gasoline odor from outside the car. I have tried to find the issue and lifted it up. What can be seen is about 1oz of gasoline puddle on rear undercover (underneath gas tank). Other than that, I can see leaked dried gasoline path on the side of the tank, which points to the location of the puddle. This string gasoline odor issue cannot be seen or smelled if the tank is filled only 3/4 of tank volume. This is issue has been reported to Mercedes Benz service at columbia, mo. However, they quoted $600 just to find the issue, even though this is clearly manufacturing defect, since hundreds of similar cases can be found at several forums and so many has been reported here.

Equipment problem #13

Strong odor of gas in home garage after filling the tank. Since December 2012 I have not been able to fill it over three quarters of a tank without the strong odor reoccurring. I took it to be serviced and after one week of trying, they were not able to find the source. I purchased the car on December 11, 2009.
