1 Car Accelerates On Its Own problem

The contact owns a 2008 mercedes-benz E350. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration causing the vehicle to crash into a concrete structure. During the crash the front end sustained severe damaged but the air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained an injured sternum which did not require immediate medical treatment. The front passenger was not injured. A police report was taken at the scene. The cause of the failure was not determined. The vehicle was towed away. The local dealer and manufacturer was not notified. The contact indicated the failure had also occurred on a previous occasion. The failure mileage was 32,000.

2 Car Accelerates On Its Own problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2016

Car: Mercedes Benz E350 2008. On 3rd floor of parking car garage, within tight confined space, when pulling in car to park turning 90 degrees, car suddenly accelerated violently, powered over 9-inch barrier curb and rammed into concrete pillar. The car continued to accelerate for few seconds even with full brakes and did not stop before putting into parking gear.
