2 Electrical System problem of the 2003 Mercedes Benz E500

Failure Date: 05/06/2022

I own a 2003 Mercedes Benz E500. My wife was driving the car about 25 mph . She put on the brakes and a bright red signal appeared on the screen and the car brakes failed . To avoid an accident ,my wife drove into an uphill parking lot where the car came to a stop without the cars brakes help . After we calmed down ,we called aaa and had the car towed to rizzoli's mecedez repair 702 west grand Ave grover beach CA 93433 phone number 805-481-0832 which was closed and the car was left in their parking lot with the keys left in the drop box . This was the closest mercedes repair place we could think of in our state of shock. We were notified that sbc brake system had failed and it would cost $3453. 06 to repair . I found out that there had been a 25 year extended warranty on the VIN number in question . After the repair I still noticed some cushioning of the brake pedal but the car brakes did work . Rizzolis is not an authorized repair shop . I called the authorized dealer where I purchased the car alphonos ,1423 calle joaquin, san luis obispo ,93405 ,805 4382701 prior to get the cars brakes repaired and the representative I talked to said they do not have a recall listed on the vehicle and could not help me . I am seeking reembersement of the cost of repair since the dealer I bought the car from would not honor repairing the vehicle on the 25 year warrantee . Thank you [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

6 Electrical System problem of the 2005 Mercedes Benz E500

Failure Date: 08/10/2015

Just received my E500 from the Mercedes Benz repair shop 2. 5 weeks ago. They fixed the previous interior oil smell, however I noticed my alarm going off when I was driving or by itself sometimes while the car sat in the driveway. This happened two different days but the car still drove. Then I went to open my car yesterday morning on my way to work and the car has no power. I'm assuming the alarm eventually wore on the battery. Now I have no car to drive. Help!!!.

7 Electrical System problem of the 2005 Mercedes Benz E500

Failure Date: 06/24/2015

I am referencing a Mercedes Benz service bulletin p-b-91. 60/99e. The control cluster shows srs light being illuminated. I took my car into a mercedes dealer and paid to have care analyzed. The mechanic indicated my car has the following fault codes: dtc 9103 (the resistance value in the ignition circuit containing component r12/13 is too high) and dtc 9123 (the resistance value in the ignition circuit containing component r12/14 is too high). Both pertaining to a faulty scm harness located on the steering column. I was told this is dangerous and that in the event of a crash, my airbags will not deploy. I am concerned that if mbusa knows that this is an issue and has even gone so far as to make a service kit to repair harness, why are they not responsible to repair this, especially given the extreme danger this is posing? I have looked into the cost of the parts, retail and for around $100 to purchase. The dealer wants over $700 for labor alone, plus another $250 for parts. This is supposed to be the safest car company in the world and I would think that this would be something they would want to address quickly. For the amount of money I paid for this vehicle, I believe I should be able to trust that it will protect me in the event of a crash. I am very afraid to even drive this vehicle.

9 Electrical System problem of the 2005 Mercedes Benz E500

Failure Date: 02/02/2010

Several times if the vehicle is not driven in a day or two the battery would be dead. I had to replace the battery twice in 2 years. I now receive a message (check battery) every time I start the vehicle. I bought a battery charger that I keep with me all the time. Once a month I put the vehicle on a battery charger, and if I’m not going to use it for a week or more,I put it on a trickle charger. I own 2 other vehicle and none of them need this type of treatment.
