One problem related to other fuel system tank mounting has been reported for the 2004 Mercedes Benz E55. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Fuel tank/sending units are leaking badly on top of tank and seeping raw fuel and heavy fumes into passenger compartment. This is a horrible safety risk and I am aware that this is becoming a very common issue with this model. I am afraid to drive my vehicle with such a large amount of fuel soaking into the passenger compartment. I also have photos of the affected area if useful.
