Other Fuel System Pump Problems of Mercedes Benz ML320

Vehicle would not start after being parked for approximately 15 minutes. Towed to local mb dealer, diagnostics indicated fuel pump failure. Fuel pump replaced. Approximate mileage 64000. Vehicle failed to start on 4 other occasions over course of next 8 months. Twice the vehicle started the next day. Once the fuel pump relay was replaced. Vehicle failed to start again 10/10/14 and was towed to area mb dealer. Diagnostics indicated fuel pump failure again. Fuel pump was replaced again! approximate mileage 145000. Waiting for it to leave me stranded again.

Reference odi 10457817 I have since received a letter from mercedes corp. Stating the fuel pump fire is due to age and normal wear and tear. I asked how a fire inside a fuel tank can be normal for any reason. They would only repeat that it was normal for the age of the vehicle. I cannot get rid of the vehicle right now for financial reasons . However I don't have to let my family ride in it. Please help because this is not right. I have the letter from mb stating the above.

Key lock problems, would not start due to key problems, would not start because of fuel pump failures, would not start due to gas tank problems, door lock assemblies move up and down by themselves, latch on hatch door rattled, rear seat belts rattle, oil out light came on at random times, engine check light on, last the fly-by wire gas pedal went to the floor with sudden acceleration causing an accident of the vehicle with $14,000 damage.
