Our ml 350 has 132213 miles as of 10-2-18, and it's got an engine fault of 1208 camshaft. We are being told that the balance shaft is bad and needs to be replaced for $6446. 82. We talked to mbz customer service, 800-367-6372, ext 8536, and talked to jennifer. And she advised me that because of a law suit, there's nothing that they can do? we've checked on-line, and other owners are having the same issue. We feel that this is a bad part, and needs to be recalled. Thanks,.
Car suddenly stalled out while driving in traffic and was told that the engine went out, was very dangerous and also seen on the website that 100s of other owners with the same problem and mercedes has not done anything about the problem.
Car engine light on. Took to service center. Required software upgrade. Cost $275. Car has 26k miles. This should not be an expense to buyer but should be a warranty issue. Very unhappy with mercedes-benz and unlikely to purchase you vehicle in the future. Also, no obvious instruction for checking oil level. Another ruse by mercedes-benz to wring additional $$ out if consumers.

Vehicle made a right-hand turn uphill and completely shut off for 25 minutes; engine and electrical components. Required to manually hold in the brake on an incline until vehicle restarted. Dealership cannot replicate the issue and is returning the vehicle.
Takata recall- intermittent burning smell coming from the hood of the car. Smell noted when car is parked after driving for some time.
2010 Ml350 starts right up when cold in the morning. If I go to a store and return to the car when I insert and turn the key nothing happens no lights on dash. After struggling for 5 minutes trying everything from locking/unlocking opening doors turning key slowly it finally starts. This problem started a month ago and is becoming more frequent now. After reading numerous complains on forums I assume it is the esi (electronic system ignition) and it is an expensive fix so I called merc benz and complained and asked if there is a recall. There is no recall and customer service told me she is not a mechanic and wants me to take it to the dealer. As I am aware this repair cost customers from 1200-1800 dollars.

Vehicle purchased new 16k miles on it now all work done at dealer, shuts off randomly with no warning at stop idle or highway driving. Extremely dangerous I have taken it to the dealer 4 times for the same issue. The dealer has updated software they said should resolve problem. This intermittent problem has occurred again and no codes found by the dealer. Mercedes benz USA attempting to find resolution but won't send out an engineer since dealer can't replicate the problem. Very dangerous situation for me and my family and others on the road. . . . . . . .

Monday morning, July 24, 2017 there were torrential downpours in the early morning leaving lots of standing water on roadways. After driving the car and going through standing water on roadways, car lost power and then engine stopped. Fortunately, I was able to coast onto the shoulder of the roadway and came to a safe resting place. Car would not restart. I was stranded with an inoperative vehicle.

While at highway speeds vehicle braked unexpectedly due to what seems to be a malfunction in the front collision warning radar. This resulted in a multiple near miss collisions coming from the rear, for many vehicles on i5 near woodburn or during high traffic times. The vehicle suddenly braked causing me to swerve off the road. Other vehicles includes two immediately following, there was a vehicle 6-8 car lengths ahead traveling at the same rate of speed with no braking, both sides were clear of traffic, no damage done seeking dealer assistance to decipher exact cause. Vehicle continues to have all safety features automatically turned off from computer. Vehicle was traveling straight with no braking needed nor wanted.

Going to work in the morning and pulling out of the garage my foot was on the brake not the accelerator in reverse suddenly the car surged by itself while I had my foot on the brake. The car went in reverse very fast hitting our side concrete side wall. (the distance is about (28ft) the impact was so hard that the passenger window was completely broken and the passenger side of the back frame of the mercedes was smashed. It happened so fast that I lost control of the vehicle I could not stop the car the brakes did not work. After I hit the wall I was jolted forward and I smashed the front end of the car with the garage. The car finally stopped in the middle of the driveway. Again, I did not put the car in drive when I was jolted forward the car went forward from the impact of the hit from the wall and I did not put my foot on the accelerator.
Safety issues being observed on ml 350 2007 observations (my wife & I have both experienced): automatic transmission , experiencing limp mode creating a safety issues which cannot be foreseen, can happen any time the problem occurs when you least expect it and unpredictable, it will be driving fine and then all of a sudden it will start losing power in traffic & drag down. Also, the vehicle will start shifting by itself from one gear to another & the speed of the cars starts to crawl, like "limp mode" the idle speed starts to rev up, car is not increasing the speed as one would expect once normally when pressing on the gas pedal. One has to pull over if they can or stuck in the street one is driving which I experienced and tried to pull over & had issues. I basically had to turn the engine off in the middle of the road while driving and hoped the car would start back again, I had to repeat this several times as I experienced the drag down and gears going down. Very scary incidents with children & wife in the car when I was coming back from an occasion (I. E. Driving back home). Told by dealer on 10/11/ code 0717 & 0718 & not covered under warranty 4 years/50k potentially related issue: code 064 incident had occured several times now in the last few weeks.

I have a Mercedes Benz ml- 350 year 2011. The vehicle has a little over 60,00 thousand miles. The engine light from my dash board started coming on. I brought the car in to the mercedes dealership for a diagnostic test. The test results indicated there's a problem with the balance shaft. The repair quote I received was $9,300. 00. This is quite absurd . . . To say the least ! as I researched this issue regarding the balance shaft this has been an occurring problem in the ml- 350 and c class models such as the c 220. (v6 272 engine) there are noted class action suite's going back to the ml- 350 2006 up to the ml-350 2010. The Mercedes Benz corporation has showed only reluctance in repairing this prevalent problem. There position as stated this issue was rectified from the 2010 recall. Obviously the problem with the balance shaft in this ml - 350 model has not been resolved. My next step is to approach the Mercedes Benz corporation again for a final decision in resolving this issue. If they don't take the responsibility in standing behind there product and keeping their reputation in good standing I have no other choice but to pursue this as a legal matter. . .
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 mercedes Ml350. The contact stated that while stationary, the vehicle's ignition switch malfunction which caused the vehicle not to start. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 85,000. Ad.
Our 2012 mb has 42500 miles on the engine warning light came on it is related to the blue additive emission apparently this has been a common occurrence from what I read on line, mb will not cover this and they charge $3000. 00 to fix, after researching online mercedes are aware of this but do care about it and will not stand behind their product,1 mechanic implied they raised the part price to repair this knowing this has been an issue, profiting from their defective product.

Letter from senator nelson re constituent re 2006 ml Mercedes Benz SUV ml 350 recall issues. The consumer stated there was a class action lawsuit filed against Mercedes Benz, due to an inferior balance shaft in the engine. A number of vehicles including his were defective. The repair for the vehicle ends on June 16, 2016. However, the consumer was informed he was not eligible, because his vehicle exceeded 125,000 miles.
My car started to give less power while driving initially and then couple of days the engine light came on. I took it into the shop and was told the balance shaft needed to be changed. There was a law suit against mb. The settlement identified my car as a candidate for a future repair. I went to the dealer and nothing like this was mentioned. I was told to pay full price.
The contact owns a 2014 mercedes-benz Ml350. While driving at an unknown speed, the "a-service" indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed and a basic service was performed, which included an oil change and the fluids were topped off. The failure recurred and the contact did a "deep stick" check for oil, which did not register any oil. The contact called the dealer and was informed to bring the vehicle to the shop. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The contact stated that he could not understand why the vehicle was out of oil so soon. The contact instead took the vehicle to an independent mechanic for an oil change. The failure mileage was 18,000.
When the vehicle's parking mechanism is engaged, the vehicle rolls several feet before coming to a complete stop; thereby endangering anyone in, near, or around the vehicle at that time from getting run over or, seriously injured by the moving vehicle.
1) car is having recurring issue with seat burning due to seat heater. Dealer corrected issue but issue persists. Not able to turn heater on. Dealer claims issue is fixed but when heat seater is turned on, burning smell and smoke fills car. Advised dealer that car is leaking water in since noticed water on the truck in the rear where the computers are. Once water is in, all sorts of electrical light issues happen with the car. 2) car is having transmission issue. Upon research, it seems Ml350 has this recurrent issue. Cannot understand why benz is not having this recall. Car stops moving in the middle of highway. Cannot get it to run. Have to turn the car off, push it aside and try multiple times for car to move. This is extremely dangerous with kids inside truck since that is the reason why I bought truck for over more than 35 k. Dealer claims its a transmission cover valve body but does not guarantee repairs. Dealer states even after this repair, the issue could persist and transmission needs to be replaced which could cost another 4000 usd in addition to 2000 to change plate. It is obvious Mercedes Benz has let us down and also has made it dangerous for us to drive their cars. Please investigate this issue. If you go online, everyone with this truck is having this issue and is shelling dollars out to mercedes dealers for fixes that are not guaranteed.

I purchased my 2007 Mercedes Benz Ml350 on 10/11/14 on 10/24/14 I began having problems with what seemed to the shifting of gears. When trying to slowly excel from either a complete stop or a slow crawl it seems as though the car would not move, it was having a problem automatically shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, and back down from 3rd to 2nd. This has happened several times and has occurred while in traffic endangering my and my families lives. After speaking to a mechanic, he has stated that this seems to be continual problem with this vehicle and should be made part of a recall! the cost to fix is approximately $5,000 in which I do not have after spending so much for this vehicle to begin with! I ask that you help to get Mercedes Benz to right this wrong. This is not right, they are ripping consumers off and putting our lives at risk. Thank you!.
Cam-shaft and crank-shaft malfunction. Vehicle wont drive properly and also experiencing electrical issues. Lights and locking mechanisms going on and off on their own.
The contact owns a 2007 mercedes-benz ml 350. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the vehicle started to decelerate without warning. Balance shaft needs to be replaced $6500 from Mercedes Benz dealer quote original owner oil changed 8 times in 72000 miles.
As described above. Instead of blowing a fuse , fuse housing melted from fire and heat requiring replacement of the entire housing with all fuses and relays. I brought it up to Mercedes Benz attention and their response was as the part got replaced at this point it is only an "alleged" problem. They do not want to accept their own service mechanic 's description of what happened. I am afraid this car has all the potential of bigger fire hazard and potential for accidents and deaths. I am bringing this to your attention only because you may have prior reports on this make and model and I am doing my civic responsibility it was unfortunate 14 people have to die with gm ignition switch problem.
My wife was driving my Ml350 on the freeway with my 7 year old son in the back. She said the vehicle started to shake in an unusual way so she decided to get off at the nearest exit and when she applied the brakes on the off ramp the car's engine stopped. Engine light came on, dash read inoperable yet all the electrical was still on. She tried to turn the key and restart it but the car would not start. Before this incident we had not experienced any problems. This is a 2012 model with just over 21,000 miles and was just serviced two weeks prior to the incident . It happened all of a sudden. The car was hit by another vehicle- rear ended with both my wife and son still in it.
The contact owns a 2012 Mercedes Benz ml 350. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start until after several attempts. While driving, the vehicle began to lose power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis, who stated that they needed to replace the pistons in the engine. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 200 and the current mileage was 800.
This happened as a new car, only now, after it happened about 5 or 6 times, we came to know this weired and dangerous problem-it loses the power at a stop; at red light, and even when we tried to start to move. When it happened, at first several times, we were thinking maybe I did something, after 5 to 6 times happened to me and to my wife, we just came to understand it is such dangerous problem. Now, it happened again on Friday and we went to the mercedes dealer, we came to know more, many happen like this, we are not the first; mercedes no solution, even they tried to find. So far, still no solution at all. The service guy declared that it only stopes at a stop!! they cannot do anything as mercedes still no solution!! will anyone drive such a weird car it stopes you at stop?? what happen if it stops you on the middle of the high way?? what will happen if somebody hit you from the back??.
Vehicle loses power after a few hours of driving. This problem does not show any error message on the dashboard, and the dealer cannot fix this problem after multiple attempts. Last trip to the dealer which was 2 weeks ago, they insisted that nothing was wrong. Here are examples of how serious the problem is, I was stranded and had to shut the car down for 30 - 45 minutes to let the car reset before continue driving. I was stranded on grapevine while driving back from san francisco to los angeles. The car could barely pull itself up the hill, and freeway 5 was under construction without much service lane that I can pull out. I got lucky and got to pull out before big rig slam into my back. This car will sporadically loses power on surface street which almost landed me into a head on collision while trying to make left turn across oncoming traffic because it will not move forward. Currently, my car has about 8000 miles. I have been contacting mbusa, but there is no sense of urgency on their end. I filmed and took photos while the problem is in session because car computer will not log any. . Read more...
