Equipment Problems of Mercedes Benz ML350 - part 2

My car trabsfert converter is leaking. I have to fill it up periodically. The car stopped on hgw 9a after a continous noises underneath. The repair cost is estimated to $6000. I complain about this equipment since it is unsafe for the driver.

The car has a trasnfer converter box is deeply leaking. I have stop several times in manhattan street to cool down before moving. The car is not safe with this faulty equipemnt. The noise underneath is terrible and annoying.

The vehicle's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (�hvac systems�) have a serious design defect that causes the hvac system to (a) accumulate mold and mildew residue or growth within the hvac system; (b) emit a moldy or mildewy odor that permeates the vehicle cabin when the hvac system is activated; and (c) cause the vehicle's passenger cabin to be unbearable and thus unusable for its intended purpose. It lacks a way to properly dispose of the water left in the system due to condensation and this in turns creates a suitable environment for the growth of bacteria, fungus, mold, and spores, which then are blown into the passenger cabin when the hvac system is in use. This seems to be a known issue with mercedes-benz cars which has not been addressed by the manufacturer. It makes it very unpleasant to drive the car when you need to turn on the a/c for a car that is practically new.

While at highway speeds vehicle braked unexpectedly due to what seems to be a malfunction in the front collision warning radar. This resulted in a multiple near miss collisions coming from the rear, for many vehicles on i5 near woodburn or during high traffic times. The vehicle suddenly braked causing me to swerve off the road. Other vehicles includes two immediately following, there was a vehicle 6-8 car lengths ahead traveling at the same rate of speed with no braking, both sides were clear of traffic, no damage done seeking dealer assistance to decipher exact cause. Vehicle continues to have all safety features automatically turned off from computer. Vehicle was traveling straight with no braking needed nor wanted.

Takata recall. When we were ready to trade our vehicle, the dealer took about $6000 off of it's trade in value because it had a takata air bag in it and a replacement bag was unavailable to remedy the issue. The dealer was unable to put the vehicle on their lot, it had to be sold at auction. I feel we should be reimbursed this financial loss we suffered due to takata's inferior product.

Sunroof was found shattered after the vehicle was parked on a residential street. No evidence of vandalism. Found out after opening the door & closing it - heard the shattered glass fall onto the interior sunroof visor. No visible damage that might indicate the cause of the shattered glass. The four corners of the sunroof were sunken in slightly, and the middle portion flexed upward. There has been no recent extreme heat recently.

2014 Ml350 shut off while driving in the fast lane of a major highway. I had taken the vehicle for service, then three wks later because the car was losing power. The dealership checked it over the next day and assured me the car was perfect and had found no problems. The next day the car shut-off on the highway. The car was towed to the dealership where they eventually discovered a defect in the car. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle.

Fuel line tear causing me to lose control. When stopped fuel was running from under my vehicle, covered motor and all over car. Luckily it is a blue tec mercede not a gas. Very frightening. Driving 55 miles per hour highway. No smell that I remember, just loss of control steering. I thought it was a power steering problem.

Car was in motion on street and suddenly rear passenger door swung open and items on back seat fell out onto the roadway causing vehicles to swerve to the other side of roadway. I later confirmed that mercedes does not give any warning for a passenger rear door that is not latched until after the car is going at least 7-8 mph? if a person (child) had been back there, he/she would have fallen out into traffic. I tried this experiment at home by just barely closing the door (not even latching it at all) and no warning is given till 7-8 mph is reached. This would seem to be a safety oversight by mercedes!!!! this needs corrective action, and at the very least, the public should be notified of this potential hazard to their children. There is also has the potential of causing an accident to other unsuspecting cars on the roadways. Please do something about this!!.

I purchased a used 2008 Mercedes Benz Ml350 VIN: 4jgbb86e38a407347 today, my power lift gate stopped operating. I can hear the motor running when I press the open/close button the driver's side door, and also on my remote, but the power lift gate doesn't operate. Upon doing some basic research, I understood that recalls were made on the 2009 and newer Ml350 due to a faulty seal with the rear lighting assembly unit, which would cause water to leak into the spare tire assembly area and cause the power lift gate to stop working; it may also cause a fire. Upon removing the spare tire to inspect the area, I saw a large pool of water in the area. There was also water near the left brake light assembly. The water appears to have even caused deterioration of wires associated with the left brake light assembly unit. Following my above observations, I checked recalls and nothing was shown for my 2008 Ml350, but clearly this is associated problem of my year as well. How can we go about getting this covered? thank you, adam st. John.

I recently purchased a new Ml350 from Mercedes Benz of burlington, MA and I have a ¿safety¿ related issue with the lift gate. I went to move the vehicle, not knowing that the lift gate was open. There was no warning or any indication that the lift gate was open!! I have owned 2 Acura mdx's and both gave loud warnings when the car is put into drive and the lift gate is open. I believe this is an obvious safety oversight by mercedes in their design as the tailgate warning does not come on until a certain speed is reached. The warning should be evident the moment the car is put into drive. I believe this is a serious safety design flaw that could lead to injuries if someone, or even a dog, was in the back and the car drove forward with the lift gate open. I just spoke with a mercedes customer service representative, and she indicated that this is a ¿speed sensitive¿ function and ¿yes¿ you could be driving with the lift gate open up till that speed is reached and you would not receive any warning at all. If I had put my dog or anything in that cargo area and started to drive away, the warning would come on too late to prevent whatever was back there from ¿falling out¿. That¿s a safety flaw with a potential of injuries. My other cars, Infiniti and Acura both give warnings when any door or lift gate is open. Please notify mercedes to fix this obvious safety flaw that all other manufacturers have seem to have fixed. Thank you.

Pulling into garage, put car into "park" and all of sudden, went into "neutral" car started to roll back (floor of garage has slight angle). At first could not put car into "drive". Finally got it into drive, moved car forward and then was able to put it into "park" this happened once before, last year, mercedes could not find anything wrong. Car being brought to mercedes on October 5, 2015.

Within the past 8 months I have taken my car to the dealership four times with the issue relating engine shut off and check engine light comes on. I was told the crankshaft needed to be replaced two times and as of today the problems remains. Mercedes benz has acknowledged this is problem in this vehicle but has not addressed it. I fear driving this vehicle with my children it shut off in the middle of the highway at one point and they haven't addrssed it. I've spent $4500 to repair and they cannot resolve the problem and I'm not certain they know how.

Takata recall I wasn't aware of big issue with defective balance shift gears until I couldn't pass emission test do to check engine because of problem with shift gear. 2008 mercedes ml 350 brake lights continue to send an error message that left and right brake lights are out sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't its isn't the light bulb and was told this is a common issue with this year. Water continues to leak in through the rear brake light damaging the sam unit.

Abs and esp warning indicators came on. Was told my warranty had just expired days earlier and that only one sensor was bad but they have seen this quite often and recommending changing all 4 sensors. I said it sounded like a product defect and complained to service manager. He said he would warranty the one bad part and not to worry about the others. That's fine but what about the commonality of this part going bad followed by others failing shortly afterwards?.

Driver's side sam module shorted due to water entering the cargo compartment. Also, liftgate inoperable due to water entering the cargo compartment and damaging the module. Instrument cluster lights remain on after exiting the vehicle and warning lights flash every 8 to 10 seconds until battery drains. 2009 and later Ml350 recalled for water intrusion into the cargo compartment via a defective tail light assembly seal and subsequent fire hazard to the liftgate module. Water found in other cavities of the 2007 Ml350. Afraid of the fire hazard for the 2007 Ml350 as well. Dealer says 2007 Ml350 not affected by recall number 2009030003.

I purchased my 2007 Mercedes Benz Ml350 on 10/11/14 on 10/24/14 I began having problems with what seemed to the shifting of gears. When trying to slowly excel from either a complete stop or a slow crawl it seems as though the car would not move, it was having a problem automatically shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, and back down from 3rd to 2nd. This has happened several times and has occurred while in traffic endangering my and my families lives. After speaking to a mechanic, he has stated that this seems to be continual problem with this vehicle and should be made part of a recall! the cost to fix is approximately $5,000 in which I do not have after spending so much for this vehicle to begin with! I ask that you help to get Mercedes Benz to right this wrong. This is not right, they are ripping consumers off and putting our lives at risk. Thank you!.

Warning message displayed that said take to workshop before putting in gear. Vehicle would not ship out of park. Tried several times, finally turned ignition off , tried again and vehicle went into drive. This same incident happened again on November 26, 2014.

Cam-shaft and crank-shaft malfunction. Vehicle wont drive properly and also experiencing electrical issues. Lights and locking mechanisms going on and off on their own.

Mercedes Ml350 was forced off the road on a rural hiway, front end drove straight into wooded area striking a tree just right of drivers side headlamp with serious damage to bumper and hood pushing into radiator. . . Drivers side front airbag never deployed. . . Both side curtain bags deployed. . . Luckily with low speed and seat belt on driver was not injured. . .

Vehicle was making a roaring noise, rear differential was gone and had to be replaced. Front differential is also bad and will have to be replaced in the near future.

The automatic rear hatch closed but did not lock. During acceleration the rear hatch started to open. Any further attempts to lock the hatch were unsuccessful and the rear hatch could not be locked.

Hit in the head in April 2015 by SUV rear power lift gate causing traumatic brain injury. Design flaw in most SUV rear lift gate. I believe Chrysler has one that beeps when lift gate is lowering but others do not. Also they should be designed like garage doors in that a sensor can stop progression of downward movement when tailgates lowers there by stopping any further injury to individuals - especially older individuals and children.

My michelin latitude tour hp 255/50 r19 tires are losing chucks of rubber. The tires have multiple chucks of rubber missing all through the tire. I have never seen anything like this before, and I am worried for my safety regarding these tires. My mechanic stated that this is a common problem for michelin and they needed to be replaced. I paid a lot of money for these at the mercedes dealership, and they are extremely poor quality and unsafe. I am afraid the whole tire is going to fall apart while I'm driving.

In October 2012, I opened the rear hatch of my 2009 Mercedes Benz Ml350 and it would not close. I continued to push the button on the hatch door, on the driver side door and on the key in an attempt to close the hatch door. After about 20 minutes, I was successfully able to close it. Three weeks ago, the rear hatch malfunctioned again, however, this time it would not open. I tried the button on the outside of the hatch, on the inside on the driver side door and on the key in an attempt to get the hatch to open. I left for a business trip the next day, and when I returned my car would not start. I had to call road side assistance to get a jump of the battery. When I took the car to the mercedes dealer, they informed me that the battery was completely dead. I told them that I had a suspicion that the dead battery was caused by a malfunction of the electrical system involving the rear hatch. The service advisor said that he had never heard of the rear hatch causing a problem with the battery. While doing some research online, I discovered that there are a number of people who have had the same problem with the rear hatch either failing to open or failing to close and as a result the battery drains. Further evidence that the problem causes the battery to drain is evidenced by the fact that the bulb that illuminates the license plate in the rear hatch door went out as well. Apparently the bulb continued to stay on because the sensor in the door was activated, which would only happen when the hatch door is open. Failure of the hatch door to open, means that the electrical system treated the hatch door as if it was ajar even though the locking mechanism was malfunctioning not allowing the door to open. So the electrical system continuously kept attempting to latch the door which is what caused the battery to drain.

My family owns a 2003 Mercedes Benz ml 350. A few weeks ago, my mom noticed a burn mark on the driver's seat. We believed one of the mechanics burnt it with a tool during the car's service. So this burn mark was ignored. On Dec. 13, 2008 around 8:20 am, my mom, who was driving the car, smelled smoke and saw smoke and a small fire from the side of her seat. She could not have pulled over quickly because of traffic. She turned off the seat warmer. Then she put it out with a towel she was sitting on, it too was burnt, but prevented my moms leg from getting burned by the fire. The fire has left a burned hole in the driver's seat. I've called customer service, which they have never heard of a case like mine, nor the dealership that I have visited. The customer service agent documented my case and faxed a copy to that dealership. I am going to meet the service manager who is to give me more information on what needs to be replaced, fixed, and how much it is going to cost. The car is no longer under warranty.

The cup holder on ml 350 Mercedes Benz is not design well I got bad burn several times by placing coffee in cup holder ,I talk with Mercedes Benz people mentioned to sorry you have to pay to replace different cup holder ,also on hand brake doesn't work after several time used,doesn't release car made really cheap design and high price.
