As we were driving 50mph, the car stalled and lost all power. The dashboard lights all lit up and the car wouldn't start. I don't get unnerved easily and it was fairly intense not being able to move your car out of traffic. After about 5 mins, the car would start again only to stop a minute or so later. After taking the car to the dealer, the issue stemmed from the fuel pump electronics board getting wet in the spare tire wheel well where water was accumulating. This was part of the recall and the dealer installed a drain and replaced the board. However, this issue again happened nearly one year later in our next rainy season. After taking it to the dealer, they said we would need to replace the electronics board ourselves. We asked about the recall and they said they fixed the issue by installing the drain plug and there was nothing else they could do for us. Even the service adjuster was upset and very sympathetic to our plight as the car was obviously not fixed. Even though the drain plug was installed, the water was still acumulating in the wheel well. It seems apparent to me, and several others who have complained about the same issue, that the recall fix has not addressed the main issue of why the water is coming in and why it's still not draining. Unfortunately we're going to have to fork over $1200 to have it fixed. My ask to the NHTSA is that this issue be readdressed with mercedes. I would like them to be notified that the recall does not address the underlying issues and the solution they provided does not fix the problem. I appreciate your time in considering this.

Good morning ! I am an owner of a 2013 ml 350 . I live in san diego ,CA ,92103 . I was driving my car on [xxx] and it was raining a lot . After around 30 miles I got to my destination parking area and my car died 20 feet away from the parking zone . I tried to reignite it but it wouldn’t start . I checked it with a obd2 scanner and it was indicating a code u0109 - lost communication with fuel pump control module . After looking into solutions and reasons for the issue online I came across a post regarding an existing recall with NHTSA with id 22v955 regarding water intrusion in the spare wheel well portion of the trunk( the wheel well is not water proofed and doesn’t have a drain port for water to escape ) . I proceeded with inspecting the area and of course it was full of water . The fuel pump control module is located in that area and it was damaged which shorted it and cause the malfunction of the vechile and the error code u0109 stated above . Tried calling Mercedes Benz but they confirmed about that specific recall but said my VIN is not part of it and I should file a claim or complain with you . I will attach proof and pictures of the water and the damaged component. My car now need to be towed and fixed on my expense because of Mercedes Benz negligence… hopefully you can add my car to this recall and when this happens I would get some kind of reimbursement… thank you for your time and understanding. My 2013 Ml350- intermittent start/ vehicle cutting off while in heavy traffic. Fuel pump and fuel modulator failed due to water collecting in the spare tire wheel-weld causing water intrusion into the fuel system. I paid out of pocket for this service twice, and then found out from mb tacoma there was a recall with the exact same issue. I took the vehicle in to the closest dealer- seattle mercedes to handle the outstanding recall issues. I was advised to contact Mercedes Benz USA goodwill department. My initial claim was approved, as I submitted all documentation of the repairs related to this issue. Now, after 5 months of my recall reimbursement claim being bounced around by customer service agents that were not trained to handle recall issues- my dealership needed approval to process it. I even provided mb-USA w/a bulletin # (from mb-USA) that clearly states to claim reimbursement if these parts failed and the customer paid out of pocket.

Fuel system failed carbon and shut off without any notification while driving two times put me at risk of getting hit both times as the vehicle was not in a safe spot. This has been confirmed at the dealership where my vehicle is at this point. It has been inspected by the dealership in georgetown, texas. Again, no warning lights just cut off two times while driving. I already had one recall fixed two times dealing with the fuel system and now it’s shutting off with no notice while I’m driving 60 70 mph and causing a dangerous safety hazard. Dealer stated… pressure regulator and control valve field as it is designed to maintain and regulate the amount fuel flowing into the engine.

On 20th December, while driving on the highway about 30 miles from columbus, ohio my 2013 mercedez benz Ml350 suddenly stalled and lost power. There was no prior warning. Luckily, we were in the outer lane with no car close behind us so my husband slowly guided the car to the side road. The car has since been towed and is currently at the service department at mercedez benz of north olmsted, ohio, 44070, for repairs. I have been informed by the service manager that they have identified the fuel pump to the problem and that it needs to be replaced. Coincidentally, this vehicle went for maintenace servicing at the same dealership and was returned to me on Monday December 16th. No problem with the fuel pump was identified or reported to me. This vehicle is available for inspection about 4 years ago, the exact same incident happened with this same vehicle where it suddenly stalled and completely lost power on the highway in the middle of nowhere on our way from ohio to iowa. There was no prior warning. Similarly, the car was towed to mercedez benz north olmsted but per the same service manager their inspection revealed no problem and the car restarted on its own so nothing needed to be fixed. I am reporting this recurring problem with my vehicle because of the obvious safety risk of sudden stalling and power loss on the highway, the fact that 4 years ago when this happened mercedez benz should have recognized what the issue was and replaced the fuel pump but did nothing about it, and also due to the fact that many mercedez benz vehicles have experienced this same problem leading to multiple recalls including many 2013 ml 350s. I believe my vehicle has a defective fuel pump from the manufacturer just like the recalled vehicles and that my vehicle and many more need to be recalled.

Vehicle stalled without warning, and I was advised by a mechanic that the fuel pump control unit was reporting a fault through the onboard diagnostics port and the check engine light on the dashboard. It was necessary to replace the fuel pump control unit as the defect was intermittent and subject to occur at any time the vehicle was being driven. There is no available solution save the replacement. I had the fuel pump control unit replaced at my cost and after replacing it found information concerning the NHTSA recall campaign online. The defective fuel pump control unit was discarded upon replacement and is not available for inspection. I believe the failure of this fuel pump control unit is a direct result of the recall not being complied with. I believe the manufacturer; Mercedes Benz USA is responsible for my costs expended in repairing this defect under the recall campaign because they did not notify me of the recall. I purchased this vehicle from an authorized Mercedes Benz USA dealer, my personal contact information is a matter of record of the sale, and I believe Mercedes Benz USA had a duty to contact me concerning the NHTSA recall campaign #2023010002 concerning this vehicle.

Ml350 engine stalled while driving on an expressway and would not turn back on. Ml350 needed to be towed where it was determined that water accumulated in the spare tire wheel well, leading to the fuel pump short circuiting. This is directly related to NHTSA campaign 22v955000. That recall repair was completed prior to this incident. Per the technician, the recall repair installed a water drain plug to prevent the water accumulation. This repair effectively failed - the drain plugs malfunctioned and were not allowing water to drain. Mbusa deny’s responsibility for the failing drain plug - stating that the trunk weatherstripping is the root cause, not the failing drain plug. This is an unacceptable response and worth of the recall being expanded. The fuel pump control unit can still short out if mbusa’s poor excuse of a recall fix fails as it did with mine.

I purchased my car used at the mercedes dealership in tyler texas June 2023. I took all my savings and paid cash and was told that the car was impeccable shape and there were no current issues and all the service records were up to date. November 2023 is when everything started happening and my engine light came on. It was revealed to me by a service tech that I was sold the vehicle with an existing major oil leak /seals broke. Etc. See attached invoices. I have endured driving down the road and my car just giving out and losing power steering. The car has been sputtering and there have been misfires, fauled fuel injectors, coils, s and spark plugs, oil leaks, fuel pump leaking gasoline in the engine and smoke coming from the hood. I thought my car was going to start on fire it smelled like a hot electrical wires and gasoline. My nerves are frayed from this car because of how many times it has broke down. I have missed work because of the car, I'm behind on my home bills, I missed my airline flight to see my sick father, I have had to pay for rental cars, all due to this vehicle. I am very concerned for my safety in this vehicle and I would like the vehicle fixed at the expense of mercedes or my money back. Thank you, debra nolting.

The fuel system faild had it replaced twice gss leaking as well as the power steering leaking badly went out while driving I had both replaced power steering is out again several months later car been sitting since then I looked up to see if there were any safty recalls I did find both on kelly blue book and a few other sites I contacted dealership was told I could bring vehicle the the recalls don't expire once the vehicle was there received a phone call they had my vehicle however the said they didn't know what kind it was or why it was there I asked how could u not know that was told they had keys but haven't went out to look I gave all my information before the vehicle was picked up I told them the issue again I was told then that as long as it's a recall problem no charge two days later I received another call same thing not knowing what type of vehicle I explained the situation again this time I was told they see 7 recalls all expired but 1 on the break system and I will have to pay $198 plus tax $233 for diagnostic ran and that price doesn't count towards repairs I waited a few hours called in act like someone else and was told recalls don't expire when I explained what was going on and who I was they told me my recalls closed and can't reopen and the was told they didn't see anything about power steering recalls however it was before I had my car towed if this was a safety recall hiw can I tell what information is correct with old recalls and how do I get them to fix this I do have a older model that I purchased 3 years ago from what I can see on there website when putting in VIN only show current recalls and shows my vehicle not having any recalls work ever done this information was on mercedes of louisville website I feel like I'm getting the run around please help with this safety recall I have small kids and won't to be safety.

I bought my vehicle into Mercedes Benz for a recall related to water collection in spare tire well which can cause a fuel pump control malfunction, NHTSA recall # 22v955. A few days ago, my vehicle could not start and I found water in my spare tire well. My obd scanner tells me it is related to the fuel pump. I informed Mercedes Benz and they would not fix it. Obviously the work performed did not correct the recall. I'm writing here hoping I can get connected to the right channel to get this resolved as my vehicle is currently unusable. Thanks.

Fuel tank on driver side of vehicle is leaking. Heavy gas smell inside car and leakage around fuel tank. Took the vehicle in to mechanic today (04/13/23).

My viechle is loss of propulsion without warning on the freeway last week on a raining day. After brought the car to west covina dealer inspected the car is leaking water that has entered the spare wheel well, the accumulated water could intermittently contact the fuel pump control unit caused loss propulsion. And there are some circuit boards and wires damaged due to a water leak and not drive able. The west covina mb dealer is refuse to fix until mbusa responsible for the cost. Please help what other option we have about this issue?.

There is a recall for this significant safety risk. I contacted my local Mercedes Benz about recall remedy on 6 January 2023 and they confirmed the recall and said mb would issue steps to get this taken care of in the beginning of February. It is now 18 February 2023 and this has not happened and I have received no communication from mb and yet the safety risk still exists and could be life threatening.

Due to water in the spare wheel well, (recall id:22v955) our fuel module and fuel pump went out. While driving in traffic on I-5 our car stalled then stopped which put us at risk of a crash. The first time (July 2022) it was repaired by cooper's auto repair), after the 2nd time it failed again in Aug 2022, once again as we were driving, our mechanic at (boyle's foreign car repair) Aug 2022 & Dec 2022 (replace) decided to do an inspection of the whole car to see why this was happening, upon inspection he found water in the spare wheel well, he pulled out the plug to stop accumulation. 2 months later (Feb 2023 )we received the recall letter. In the letter it states that mbusa would reimburse repairs performed prior to the recall. Mbusa is now refusing to reimburse for replacement but also refusing to find and fix where the water in entering. We reside in a very wet part of the country and see this as a continuing issue. There also is condensation in the back tail lights, which was not there until this issue started occurring. The car was previously in s cal so there was no issue with water accumulation until it was moved to the rainy pacific NW. We are fearful of using this car during very wet times as we do not know if this (failure of pump/module) will occur as well as condensation and water being in the back tail lights possibly resulting in the car stopping during it being driven. Therefore putting our lives in potential danger of an accident.

While driving, vehicle stalled. Mechanic found water in spare wheel well. And fuel module and fuel pump shorted out. Had vehicle repaired; 07/22. The vehicle stalled again in 12/22. Mechanic found water in spare wheel well. Had to replace fuel pump. In February,2023, Mercedes Benz notified me of a recall, NHTSA recall I d: 22v955 ; water intrusion in the spare wheel well. And, stated their local dealer would repair vehicle or reimburse me for the cost of repair, if I had the repair done already. I submitted receipts and documents pertaining to the repair. The Mercedes Benz dealership refused to acknowledge the causal relationship between the repairs and the recall issue. And, refused me reimbursement.

2007 mercedes-benz Ml350 defective balance shaft causing pause & stop in traffic this is a known defect and has been resolved previously in customers favor in class action and private lawsuits against Mercedes Benz USA. Mercedes refuses to take responsibility for a defective and unsafe build that puts everyone in the path of this cars life in jeopardy. Please for the safety of the public will you force them to issue a recall on the balance shaft before I have to get an attorney! balance shaft - unsafe!! balance shaft has made this a suicide/weapon on wheels. When driving the car will suddenly and with no notice lose power, slow down substantially or stop on its own and sometimes will not moved forward at all. This has happened in traffic and I was almost hit. This is very unsafe could kill me or anyone around me. Each time I have had to turn on emergency flashers, turn off the car and restart. I drove home with emergency flashers on all the way. 2 mechanics, including dealer advise this is a known problem for my year and model. Mercedes knows this is defective workmanship & they putting lives at risk. Now I have no transportation as this car is unsafe. I have been advised not to drive the car.

The oil fuel line is leaking on the engine this is currently a recall on my year and model SUV.

Hello my check engine light is on in my 2004 mercedes Ml350 so I took it to a mercedes dealership for inspection and repairs. They kept my SUV for 8 days and finally called me back and said they believe the check engine light is on because I need to replace my charcoal canister shut off valve. Now this component takes the gas vapors that has not been burned off and reroutes it through the charcoal canister and back into the engine so it can be burnt off and not enter the atmosphere and enter the inside of the vehicle. Well my SUV has failed inspection for emissions and that’s why I brought it in to mercedes. Well the service department at mercedes called me 8 days later and said mercedes does not make that part anymore. And no other aftermarket company makes it either. They charged me $200 to tell me they can’t fix it because the part is not made anymore. So am I safe ? why mercedes never recalled a vehicle that can not pass states emissions test. I wrote a letter to the head of mercedes in europe and the united states. They offered me $2,000 off of a new mercedes or $1,000 off a pre owned mercedes. Sounds like they know something is not right here. So my complaint is can a car manufacturer stop producing a part that is needed to safely pass the emissions test and isn’t these fumes harmful to me and my family?.

I participated in the emission recall campaign 2020050014. I have a 2013 Ml350bluetec. I have been back to the dealer 10 times to fix my car after the recall was performed. The check engine continues to return in an on (orange light) position after only a few days. On trip 5 my car could not accerlate and lost power. The problem related to the nox sensors that are being replaced each visit. Mb USA replaced b19/9 temp upstream of turbo charger and b9/11 temperature sensor upstream of catalyst. Also remove and replace 3 temp sensors. Again, I have been back 10 times to the dealer for continual problems related to the recall. Since Nov. 29, 2021, the warning light (check engine) remains on and mbusa does not respond to fixing it. Mbusa reported that there is a software issue they are working on. Can you help please?.

Gas gauge don't work and interior strong fuel smell near left back wheel well.

After being into authorized Mercedes Benz dealership only for an strong diesel fuel smell and oil leak 3 times in less than 4 months on our Ml350 bluetec engine fuel smell is strong enough that we have a sever headache ,nauseous feeling and have to stop the car and get out for fresh air, opening windows only gets more of the smell in of fuel and burning plastic. This happens while vehicle is in motion ,both on city streets and on highways, more pronounced when driving.

Ever since I bought this car used in 2017 I've been having problems with it since day one. I cannot believe they have not been any recalls on this car with all the wrong things with it it jolts out of control it's swerves from side to side in the power steering is just a total mess. When I'm at a stop sign it suddenly starts shaking out of nowhere and then with the car being in park is jolts back and forth. I went to a doctor's appointment yesterday I park my car like I normally would next to you nor I come out the car won't start there's fluid leaking and I believe it's the power steering. This car feels totally unsafe what up wrong purchase I made and I'm not know what to do I called mercedes and they said there's no recall there's nothing wrong with my car please help I don't know what to do.

Monday morning, July 24, 2017 there were torrential downpours in the early morning leaving lots of standing water on roadways. After driving the car and going through standing water on roadways, car lost power and then engine stopped. Fortunately, I was able to coast onto the shoulder of the roadway and came to a safe resting place. Car would not restart. I was stranded with an inoperative vehicle.

Driving along at 65mph on highway with cruise control on, 80 degrees, sunny and clear weather the fuel line came loose and engine lost all power. Diesel fuel spilled on vehicle and roadway. Vehicle had 86,432 miles on it at the time. The engine is a 3 liter mercedes diesel bluetec. Had the vehicle been gas instead of diesel I'm sure it would have caught fire. Car had to be towed. Was told that two fuel line clamps had failed and needed replaced. The car has only been maintained and repaired at mercedes-benz dealerships. True to form, mercedes was no help to reimburse the cost of repairs. Total repair costs without tow was $321. 88. Tow was paid by their roadside assistance program. Please investigate this safety issue.

Going to work in the morning and pulling out of the garage my foot was on the brake not the accelerator in reverse suddenly the car surged by itself while I had my foot on the brake. The car went in reverse very fast hitting our side concrete side wall. (the distance is about (28ft) the impact was so hard that the passenger window was completely broken and the passenger side of the back frame of the mercedes was smashed. It happened so fast that I lost control of the vehicle I could not stop the car the brakes did not work. After I hit the wall I was jolted forward and I smashed the front end of the car with the garage. The car finally stopped in the middle of the driveway. Again, I did not put the car in drive when I was jolted forward the car went forward from the impact of the hit from the wall and I did not put my foot on the accelerator.

Diesel fuel filter and/or diesel fuel hose leaks spilling highly flammable diesel fuel on the road. The diesel fuel could leak near the heat source or leak onto the road. This could lead to a crash or cause a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

Diesel fuel leaks from a tiny crack forming on the oil filter housing. The filter has manufacturing or design defect that causes the bottom housing of the filter to form small cracks prematurely. The mercedes part number of this filter is a 642 090 60 52 manufactured by mann , made in the czech republic. I have searched the internet and this appears to be a systemic problem where the filter forms cracks and leaks diesel fuel. There should be a recall issued for this immediately before there are any vehicle fires as a result of this defect. When the filter leaks, the fuel streams down the center of the engine block and through a weep hole to the bottom of the vehicle near the exhaust. This is in very close proximity to the extremely hot exhaust piping that could ignite the fuel and cause a fuel fire resulting in serious injury or fatalities.

Our 2012 mb has 42500 miles on the engine warning light came on it is related to the blue additive emission apparently this has been a common occurrence from what I read on line, mb will not cover this and they charge $3000. 00 to fix, after researching online mercedes are aware of this but do care about it and will not stand behind their product,1 mechanic implied they raised the part price to repair this knowing this has been an issue, profiting from their defective product.

Def/adblue heater failure. It appears it is common for the def/adblue heater to fail. I have been told by mercedes service that they redesigned the heater because of the common failure of this part but they are not replacing them as a recall. (same problem with vw which in now covered).

Ongoing issues with the vehicles camshaft solenoid system. Annually I have this issue. What is happening is that once a year the check engine light comes on and I am being told by repair specialists that the camshaft solenoid must be replaced. I replace them and the next year I have the same challenge. I find it strange that mercedes has yet to do a recall on this as I've searched online and this seems to be an ongoing issue with all of their vehicle's transmission system.

The contact owns a 2006 Mercedes Benz Ml350. Immediately after refueling, the contact noticed fuel leaking underneath the vehicle and smelled a strong fuel odor. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 121,000.

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 mercedes Ml350. The contact stated after that after refueling, fuel fumes emitted in and around the vehicle. The vehicle also stalled after the failure. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The failure mileage was unknown. Pam.

While driving on 3/14/15 the car had trouble starting. I managed to reach home. Next morning on 3/15/15 I backed car out of garage - had the same problem starting car. After parking car in garage, I suddenly noticed that gasoline was leaking from under the left passenger seat to the garage floor. On 3/16/15 morning I called up Mercedes Benz roadside assistance and had the car towed to dealership. I was told the fuel line from the fuel filter to the engine compartment had come partially off the fuel filter. It was reconnected but I was told it could come off. This is a car my spouse drives and I am concerned about a potential fire hazard. I have drive various automobiles since I first came to the USA in December 1974 and have never had a problem like this. What should I be doing?.

Auto was in forward an at complete stop and driver placed in in park but lleft engine running and exited the car. Car went into reverse and started to accelerate. Driver was knocked to the ground and run over by car. Car was stopped when it ran into building structure.

My wife was driving my Ml350 on the freeway with my 7 year old son in the back. She said the vehicle started to shake in an unusual way so she decided to get off at the nearest exit and when she applied the brakes on the off ramp the car's engine stopped. Engine light came on, dash read inoperable yet all the electrical was still on. She tried to turn the key and restart it but the car would not start. Before this incident we had not experienced any problems. This is a 2012 model with just over 21,000 miles and was just serviced two weeks prior to the incident . It happened all of a sudden. The car was hit by another vehicle- rear ended with both my wife and son still in it.
