Error codes p0016 and p0017 camshaft out of alignment and vehicle will not pass smog test, also loss of power of the engine.

I was driving home and the R350 jerked and then slowed down and would not shift gears, stayed on first gear all through my ride home. The car started in the morning but again would not shift gears and no warning light showed on the dash board. I have taken it to the dealer shop where I bought it in va and I am awaiting the verdict.
