I agree that something should be done about the rear suspension defect on the 2006 r-class mercedes. I also own a 2006 Mercedes Benz R350. This vehicle kept leaning to the right side. The automatic suspension on the vehicle was uneven. The red light asked me to stop¦car too low. I stopped and it pumped up again. Drove a couple of miles and it did same thing. Took to mb dealer they said it was the suspension this passenger¿s side issue of the vehicle being notably higher than the driver¿s side of the vehicle. Leaning to one side has occurred twice. The rear air spring suspension has required replacement two times in the last five months (7/1/2013 & 11/28/2013): - both sides in the rear of vehicle have been replaced. - each rear suspension repair has cost me $1200. 00 each time (totalling $2400 for rear air suspension replacement). - both repairs occurred by an authorized mercedes dealer (smyth european mercedes dealer in santa clara CA). The Mercedes Benz manufacturer is aware of these problems but have not taking responsibility to create a recall.

During driving my 2006 mb R350, warning light (check tire pressure) was on. And I pulled it over and found that the tires are fine but the vehicle leaned on the right side. I changed a suspension sensor at dealer, but it happened again one week later. I found that several other owners near me have same problem. I cannot understand why the maker have not recalled it.
About an hour into my trip the warning light came on for me to stop and let the car rise it were to low, somethig should be done about the rear suspension on the 2006 r- class there is a default with this vehicle there need to be a recall on and it is very hard for the mechanic to fine whats wrong.
I have a 2006 Mercedes Benz and while driving on the interstate the warning light would come on telling me to stop and let the vehicle rise I pulled over for a while to let it rise drive on for miles the light comes on again with the same thing stop and let it rise. Also while the r 350 is parked at home the rear end will lower itself there is some flaws with the rear end of the 2006 r 350.
I took car in because it had lowered down. I payed for it. I took it home wife said it is still driving wrong. She took it in and serviceadvisor drove around with her and said he feels it. We drove to dallas checked in hotel went out to car lowerered again pressed button to raise it. Made it home to houston and lowered again. Took it in to service at mercedes and now it needs front struts are leakingand some other things. The air bags in the back were replaced also when I took it in before. I have seen several cars like mine on the side of the road with the car leaning&lowered so something has to be wrong with this make model car. There are a lot of web sites with customer complaints about the suspension of this car. Nhtsa its time to investigate. I see no investigation fromnhtsa websight. No one has investigated this car. Will you please investigate?this is just a couple of the problems ive had there are more with just 52000 miles mercedes if I am having one problem after the other what is wron with this car ? the sticker price was $68000. 00 or $7000. 00 it will make you not want another one.
Parked and vehicle preceded to lean to the rear left passenger side. It's very low and is not drivable. No warnings.

Just woke up one morning, I went to start my car and noticed that it was leaning to the passenger side. I went to a private mechanic and he stated that the lower sensor needed to be repaired, so we did that, it cost around $350 for labor and part. I drove the car a couple of days and same problem. So the following day I went to mercedes dealer and they told me that the suspension arms needed to be replaced, so we fixed that which cost about $600. They also, mentioned that there may be an air bag leak, but the work for that was around $910. I declined. So, six days later my car is leaning to the passenger side again. I went back to the dealer and the only thing they could tell me is that I have to dish out more money because now both of the air bags were leaking and now it would cost $1800. I am extremely frustrated. Because they obviously can not pin point the exact problem. My car is not under warranty anymore. How much should I have to pay for them taking guesses. I also noticed that my friend who has the same car has had the same problem, not to mention rare people I don't know who have the same car I have noticed driving on the street and their car was leaning to one side. There is obviously some faulty work that mercedes did when they put this car together. Reading from your website there are many testimonials of this problem. This needs to be a recall for the m350 mercedes. ## VIN passed ##.
The rear end of my wife r 350 lower itself for some reason the rear end rise once cranked but over night the vehicle would deflate the rear suspension would just drop look like it is on the ground it started with one side than the whole back started dropping.
The car is leaning to the right side. While driving I get a warning that the car is to low. I also get the warning that my tire pressure is low, while driving on the highway. The car began leaning a few months ago and would come and go. The car is now permanently leaning to the right.
The contact owns a 2006 Mercedes Benz R350. The contact stated that when driving approximately 55 mph or higher, the rear end of the vehicle would lower to the ground. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileage were approximately 80,000. The VIN was unavailable.
I just bought this car in October, 2012. One morning I noticed that it was leaning on the right passenger side. I took it back to the dealership I bought it from. They stated that it was the air bags??/suspension? their mechanic supposedly fixed it! on 1/4/2013, I noticed that it was leaning again on the right passenger side. I have contacted a mercedes dealership and they stated that these cars have problems with airmatic and suspension. Why are there no recalls for this? the cost to fix at mercedes dealership is over 1,500 dollars!.
In October 2012, my 2007 R350 dash indicated air suspension malfunction and right rear end lowered close to top of tire. Brought to mercedes dealer in new rochelle, NY for diagnosis and problem was determined to be a collapsed suspension airbag component requiring replacement. Brought vehicle to my trusted and experienced mechanic who replaced right airbag and failed air compressor with new original mercedes parts. In April 2013 vehicle dash indicated air suspension malfunction once again - this time left rear end lowered. My mechanic replaced left airbag component and failed air compressor again with new original mercedes parts. Now both sides of rear suspension will not fully elevate to the proper level no matter what corrective action/repair is performed even after replacing left and right rear shocks. I have made several telephone calls to mercedes customer service and my complaints were registered. The issue has been referred to dedicated mercedes corporate troubleshooters; however, they will not acknowledge that an issue exists with the airbag suspension system and will not offer financial assistance since the vehicle is out of warranty. I have a friend who has a 2006 R350 and has experienced the identical air suspension problem. I have also met other R350 owners who have experienced the same issue. No recall or dealer service program has been issued addressing this problem.
My wife came out to start the vehicle and noticed the car was leaning severely to one side. The driver front and rear was tilted, something I never witnessed before on any vehicle I once owned. I took it to the dealer and they told me it was a sensor that controlled the balance of the vehicle. The sensor was changed and a few days later it started leaning again. I noticed when the vehicle sits it will begin to lean, but once it is driven for 10 miles it begins to balance itself. I have been trying to contact you all about this situation, however to no , so now I will begin taking further procedures to correct this situation, and not have to continue paying for a default that`s inconceivable.
The contact owns a 2006 Mercedes Benz R350. The contact stated that the frame appeared to be leaning abnormally. The contact also stated that when driving various speeds, she could feel the frame moving around. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis and the contact was informed that there was a defect in the suspension. The manufacturer was notified but offered no assistance. The VIN was unavailable. The failure and current mileage was 69,000.
Problems with the airmatic suspension. The hydraulic system malfunctions and causes your vehicle to lean to one side at this point your turn radius is hindered severely. You also now are only able to drive at a low rate of speed,so hopefully you are not on a major highway when this happens. I know 3 different persons besides myself who have had this issue, and thankfully this major malfunction has not caused any traffic/injury incidents. This seems to be a major flaw in which can cause serious repercussions.
This vehicle has a balance shaft and intake manifold issue as well as a air suspension problem. Both problems are a manufacture defect that is common in other mb R350 vehicles. Mb accepts that this vehicle model have a conglomerate of problems and is not taking responsibility to create a recall. This vehicle is always maintain and service by an authorized mb dealer and they insure that in any of the previous services the diagnosis was never identified or mention. The low suspension is a safety issue that may cause the wheels to rub against the fenders and cause driver to loose control. The balance shaft may cause the engine to loose power and create a rear ending crash.

2006 Mercedes Benz R350-this vehicle keeps leaning on the right side. I took it to the dealership and have replaced several parts including sensors and valves but after a few weeks, it goes back to the same problem. I took it to a local shop that specializes only on mercedez benz and he's having a hard time figure out what's the problem. I can't tell how much money I spent so far in this vehicle and I can't believe that there's no recalls so far. No to mention the problems with the balance shaft and intake manifold issue as well as a air suspension problem. These problems are a manufacture defect especially on the R350 class vehicles. Mb is aware of these problems but they are not taking responsibility to create a recall. Believe me, I've seen so many R350 vehicles out there, and most of them seem to have the same problem. Do we have to wait for a recall in this vehicle until a fatality occurs?.
The contact owns a 2006 mercedes-benz r 350. The contact stated that the suspension system caused the front end to lean to the right. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer to have the failure diagnosed and the dealer could not determine what caused the suspension to malfunction. The contact also stated that the electrical system caused the exterior and interior lights to malfunction. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer for repairs but the dealer was unable to identify what caused the electrical system to malfunction. The vehicle was repaired however, the contact was unable to provide the exact repairs made to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 85,000. The VIN was not available.
Replace engine, transmission, 3 suspensions is 3 years-twice on the right side mercedes and intercar claimed that right rear air spring had a leak left rear shock leaking and claimed normal wear and tear at 71725 miles-so was the pages and pages of the link below at 71000 miles, power door locks stopped working, power drivers mirror stopped working, safety lock for back windows stop working, burns 2 quarts of oil a month, sunroof leaks, and doesn¿t always close all the way, abs speed sensors defective, rear main radial seal in transmission defective, replace defective engine thermostat, replaced the batteries due to corrosion (under the seat), faulty signals for tail lights and parking tail lamps (electrical), air conditioning ambient sensor defective, replace defective radio antenna. This car has major design flaws, and has been discontinued by mb. My 2007 R350 has hit every defect listed below with the exception of parking brake, and steering column. Mercedes-benz always claims it is normal wear and tear. I know of no car let alone a mercedes with this many defects, I want them to buy this piece of junk back, they offered me 2000 towards a new mercedes, I have been driving mercedes since 1995 and never had problems like this. You would think as many of their cars I owned that they would have stepped up to save not just their reputation but o save a client. Suspension complaints: all at similar mileage, mb response was normal wear and tear. . Read more...
