The contact inquired about NHTSA campaign id number 00v141000 (equipment: electrical: air conditioner) yet the dealer refused the repair, stating that the blower regulator was not a component covered by the recall repair. The blower motor regulator was not replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 167,789.

2 Blower problem of the 2000 Mercedes Benz S Class

Failure Date: 03/01/2009

The contact owns a 2000 Mercedes Benz s430. The contact stated that the dashboard became so hot that it was difficult to touch. The following day, the blower motor in the vehicle stopped working when the driver attempted to activate the air conditioner. The manufacturer stated that the previous owner had the vehicle repaired according to NHTSA campaign id number 00v141000 (equipment:electrical:air conditioner) in February of 2005; therefore, they were not responsible for the repair. The contact believes that the recall should still be valid because the failure has recurred. The current and failure mileages were 112,000.
