1 Fuel Delivery problem

Failure Date: 04/14/2009

The contact owns a 2002 Mercury Cougar. The contact stated that the fuel delivery module (fdm) reduced and eventually blocked the flow of fuel to the engine. The vehicle lost power while driving 50 mph. The vehicle was repaired twice, but the failure still persists. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign id number 04v421000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was 112,000 and current mileage was 113,184.

2 Fuel Delivery problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2007

The contact owns a 2002 Mercury Cougar. The current and failure mileage were 77,000. While driving the vehicle the contact tried to accelerate but the vehicle took a long to shift up to speed. Often times the vehicle would stutter and hesitate. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer, and was told that the vehicle was not included in recall 04v421000 due to the VIN.
