Air Bag Not Deploy Problems of Mercury Cougar

The contact owns a 2002 Mercury Cougar. While driving 30 mph, the front passenger side crashed into a parked vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The road conditions were normal. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. A police report was filed. The driver was transported via ambulance to the emergency room. She was not wearing a seat belt and sustained a head injury and received stitches to her lip. My daughter was driving my 2000 Mercury Cougar on September 25 ,2006. When another vehicle went through a stop sign &they collided. She hit him with her front end & then proceeded to swerve head on into a telephone pole . So this makes two front end collisions & the air bags never deployed. In fact she had another accident in sept 2003 where a car went through a red light and hit her,but that was a side impact & again this air bag did not deploy. So this has been three incidents that this air bag did not deploy & this past one on Monday was front end collision & my daughter has damage to her chest & rib cage , which could have been avoided if the air bags worked properly!.

There were no warning indicators on the instrument panel. He stated that he has been involved in numerous crashes due to dodging road debris, which caused his vehicle to be rear ended and crash into a tree. The air bags have never deployed in any of his crashes. The dealer and the manufacturer have not offered any assistance and stated that nothing could be done due to the lack of safety risk. The speed was unknown. The current mileage was 51,000 and the failure mileage was unknown.

My daughter hit the back of a school bus in may of 2006 in which the air bags did not deploy. Last night she barely scraped her rim on a curb and both air bags went off and cracked the windshield. This must have been faulty air bags from the start because they should have went off in the front end collision she had, and should not of released when she hit her rim on a curb.

Air bag light comes on intermittently, blinks 7 times pauses and repeats until vehicle is shut off and restarted. Taken to dealership mulitple times starting with 2 years ago, but was informed that they could not check it unless it was blinking at the time. Was advised to bring it back while it's blinking. Blinking usually occurs on my way to work or after the dealership hours. I have looked this problem up in my repair manual cd and found the problem was that one of the airbag sensors was not working properly. I'm concerned about my safety if there is an accident if the air bag will deploy or not with this problem. I know multiple owners of this vehicle with this problem and one who has this problem and was in an accident where air bag did not deploy for a 100 mph impact. My air bag light continues with this problem.

I hit the car in front of me traveling at 40mph, my seatbelt did not restrain me, my lip hit the steering wheel which made my teeth go all the way through. The air bags did not deploy either, so my head broke the windsheild. The lap portion of the seatbelt kept me from going all the way out, I had bruises on my abdoman from it.

While driving on a 4-lane highway, lights on the dashboard lit up and engine died. Then, consumer lost control of the vehicle. With no brakes or steering vehicle started to spin out of control and hit a guardrail at about 55mph. Consumer said it was a engine problem. Airbags did not deploy.
