Three problems related to frame and members have been reported for the 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The frame of my 1996 Grand Marquis became seperated due to bad welding. The car was taken to firestone where they informed me that the frame came apart due to bad welding. Car was then towed to Ford where they declined to repair the car or pay for the cost. Ford stated they would not cover it due to mileage and must be towed to a body shop.
While approaching a stop, after going 15mph, the right front "a" frame broke, causing the frame to be disconnected from body of vehicle. Had vehicle taken to dealer. Dealer refused to repair due to mileage, but the mechanic repaired the vehicle.
Chassis mounts failed.
